Was a little crowded when I went though I can imagine thats completely different now. They are great about their COVID restrictions, lots of info available.... I believe they are temporarily closed though I may need some confirmation on that front. Reason for the three stars is that it didn’t blow my socks off but it was still so so so so much fun

We have been to many science and children’s museums with my son, now six. The Tech is without a doubt one of the best we have ever been to for my son’s love of building and creating. We are only in San Jose for three days and may go twice just because he loved it so much. We avoided the body section because even his parents were too squeamish for that, but everything else was an amazing opportunity to explore science and engineering. Come here often.

Excellent experience! Loved the Body Worlds Decoded exhibit! The museum was definitely designed for kids in mind! There was a bunch of hands on things to get kids engaged in learning! Everything from the senses, coding, robotics, space, and animals (movies on the pandas and sharks). And a microbiology area where you make your own glow in the dark bacteria with different colors that they record!

A great tech museum located in the heart of Silicon Valley! Amazing interactive exhibitions: great for kids to spark their interest in and learn more STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) through different “games”! Even for adults, it is so much fun to visit! We have an annual family pass!!! We go visit here multiple times a year! Every time when we take friends and family members here, they really enjoy it!!! Highly recommend it!!!Don’t forget to watch an IMAX movie in the dome theater!!! Check their show schedule online before you go!!!

The Tech Interactive is a pretty cool little museum for young and old. Its a good place to visit if you find you have some spare time while in San Jose. It has lots of interactive and educational rooms. You can experience what it was like during an earthquake, you can build things and even see what it’s like inside the human body.

A very fun and educational place to take the family. Lots of interesting things to learn about and its fun because there are a lot of hands on activities that you can do in the exhibits. Very fun and educational interactions for parents and children. Theres also a cafe and gift shop which is a good thing because if you want to enjoy everything, you need to be here all day. There is a lot of really cool stuff. We visited on a field trip and were limited on time so we didnt even get to see everything, but we did enjoy everything we did get to see.

Like the Exploratorium in San Francisco. All of the exhibits are hands on and gives you the opportunity to try STEM and motion activities. Being there is as much fun for both school age kids and adults. There is a virtual reality flight simulator, earthquake simulator, coding stations, hands on building area, a outer space area, and a IMAX Movie Theater. Can get really busy during the school year and on weekends. There is a $5 2 hr parking validation at 3 downtown garages and the VTA does stops in front.

Great place to bring your kids. Most suited to youth and teens. Having said that, this middle-aged guy and 18 year-old son were fascinated by several of the exhibits and interactive activities. Location is downtown just off of Cesar Chavez Plaza. We parked at the convention center to the south. The Tech Interactive will provide you a validation that lets you check out of the parking garage with a $5 charge. Living outside of CA I learned a lot from the seismology exhibits.

Ive always enjoyed The Tech, but now it is a million times better. Now Body Worlds Decoded is free with admission. There are way more interactive stations than there were before. Even though today was Free Museum Day, there was still plenty of room for everyone even though there were a lot of people in there. There were multiple IMAX movies available to watch instead of just one. They had a lot of staff available to answer questions and to teach about the exhibits. The bathrooms were immaculate. The Tech Store seems bigger, as does the cafe. I love the fact that the moon scale tells me that I weigh 20 pounds! Even though the line was wrapped around the corner, we all got in very quickly.

We brought our 9 year old daughter here for a weekend field trip and we were so impressed with how engaging and interesting the museum was! Our daughter was totally in to the engineer testing & robot making, but there was so much else to see and do! We needed more time in the day and are considering a membership! My husband and I really enjoyed the Bodies display and found it extremely interesting, however it was a little too graphic for our daughter who thought it was kinda gross. I’m conflicted on this place. First off, the price is too steep for what you get. $25 for adults! I went solo and quickly learned that this place is geared towards children. There was nothing of interest on the bottom floor, so I quickly walked through and then made my way to the top floor. The highlight of my visit was the “Body Worlds Decoded” exhibit. You can check out a tablet which provides 3D viewings of various parts of the body. Using the heart as an example, I was able to walk around it and see it from every angle. The exhibit uses human skeletons, which was interesting. I learned so much and was able to see what healthy organs looked like as opposed to unhealthy organs. Other than this exhibit, I didn’t see anything else worth spending my time on. Worth noting, the museum has a gift shop and café that you can visit as well.

Designed to instill love and respect for science. Adults will be interested in virtual reality. Especially $ 8 flight simulator. Hes worth it.The IMAX cinema was also particularly struck, where you really feel in the city of new technologies.I really liked the exhibition of the human body, it was exciting and breathtaking. All these bodies are real people who gave their bodies after death for scientific purposes. A must try is the earthquake simulator, especially for someone who comes from a place where there is no earthquake, its shocking. And for network geeks, try the network connectivity simulator game. Also possibility to build things like crane or catapult and then test how it works. There are many simulation stations like earthquake, tornado bubble, yoga breething and flying and many more. I loved the most earthquake and flying stimulators(using flying stimulator is for extra fee). Quite real feeling on both. Most of action stations have instructors who assist you if need and tell you more about the station subject. So when you leave the place you have more kowledge, experience and you are feel also entertained.Place has also science shop you can buy various science themed items.

One of the most impressive attractions at the Tech Interactive is the earthquake simulator. You step on a platform with handrails and a metal table and then the platform starts to simulate actual earthquakes that happened in major cities. It’s an impressive experience - and very loud - and as intimidating as it is, the ground at the Tech only shakes in 2 dimensions while a real earthquake also bounces up and down. The instructor beforehand teaches you about the basic earthquake drill: duck and cover!Duck down onto the floor, if possible take cover under a sturdy table, desk or bed, and hold on until the shaking stops.Remember: Avoid danger spots near windows, doorways, hanging objects, mirrors, or tall furniture that could fall down.

We chose to go to the Tech to see the two iconic films that are celebrating 50 year anniversaries: D-Day, and Apollo 11. It was a Tuesday afternoon, so good to beat the crowds. In fact, the theatre was nearly empty! We could have the pick of our seats! Apollo 11 was not well done, using old footage that was not remade for IMAX. It was just OK. But D-Day was excellent. The historic background, as well as the visuals were wonderful, and gave one a very good story of this amazing event. We did enjoy it very much. One thing about seating. The screen is ENORMOUS, so it is best to sit nearly at the top of the theatre, which is on a very steep slant, to enjoy the entire picture, without having to lean your neck way back. Seats are comfortable. Sound is a bit LOUD for my liking, but it is typical of nearly all theaters these days. Who in the theatre business thinks we are all DEAF??? Well, we will be at this rate.

Hmm. I guess to start off it was more kid friendly than I thought. I only bought the general admission for the exhibit which was 25 dollars I believe. They have a exhibit plus IMAX combo that is 30 something dollars which gives you access to their IMAX videos which the clerk explained was 45 minute educational videos. I saw showing for Captain Marvel as well but Im not sure if that would he included. The exhibits were interesting and were mostly hands on. There are two levels: the top level had little to no hands on activities but had presentations about the human body, robotics, and things about how technology is shaping certain parts of the world. The bottom level had all the activities if you wanted to build your own robot to things such as learning about internet security. The exhibit was fun in the sense that it gives kids or even adults a good introduction into certain parts of technology and even the human body. Overall this is a family-friendly, educational museum with a great amount of hands on activities for all ages.
