Love this place! Went here for my first time ever Go karting, I loved it!I would definitely come again!
Came here for the first time today with my son. Hes not quite two and had a great time. Hes a bit small for a few structures, but he didnt notice and passed out in the car as soon as we left. This is a great place to let your kid run around and get some wiggles out.
It was fun! Definitely not worth a long wait in line though. The line was short and we still waited at least 30 minutes to board, and then the ride isnt longer than 5 minutes. When you get off the ride, associates will come running with photos that they have printed and want you to buy. My advice? Tuck N Roll on out of there asap.
Had a great time everything was too high prices for too high but I will come back again
This ride was NOT worth the money ! It is focused to buy the photos which they try and sell you before and after the ride. The main event (ride) was mostly blurry on each side of the screen and you dont get the full effect. I tried to voice my concerns but nobody has responded to my voicemail ore-mail. Thank you.
Brilliant great fun, good price. Well worth a visit.
A wanna-be “Soarin” ride Way too expensive for a so-so experience. Image was fuzzy through the glasses with a seagull character interfering with most of the shots.
Great idea, but a bit poor quality of the video. Too blurry. But overall pretty realistic, except two silly scenes: unreal break window and useless flag, suddenly slapped into the camera lens and interrupted that beautiful free flight
Family of five, was able to secure a good price on Groupon. My kids, age 8, 11, and 13, really loved it. I’m not gonna lie, there were several times I closed my eyes, because it felt like I was falling off the bridge for example..... but I am not into roller coasters and scaring myself unnecessarily My kids loved every second, and wanted to ride it again. I thought it was a very neat way to see all the famous landmarks of the city. The staff was super friendly, and very accommodating. I definitely recommend anyone who is atPier 39 to go on this ride, you won’t regret it.
My husband and I recently visited SF, Pier 39 and The Flyer. Check it out, this ride is a totally fun and new way to do a SF fly over with occasional thrills and surprises. The flyer includes a cute story line (I wont spoil the surprise) but expect to want to take the cartoon mascot home with you. We look forward to our next opportunity to soar on The Flyer.
What a fun thing to do in San Francisco. The Flyer is a great new addition to Pier 39. Conveniently located on top of the Hard Rock Cafe. We took a bunch of friends visiting from out of town and we all had a blast. Thanks Flyer, for making our afternoon a memorable one!
Gave this a shot as we were in the area. It was ok. First the pre-videos were long and disjointed. Second, the screen appeared blurry. Verified this with the rest of our group and the staff. They said that they were having trouble with their projectors. Overall, it is a nice idea and unique location. That said, it is expensive and if you have been to disneyland, it is just like Soaring USA, however it does not come close to being as good.
I visited The Flyer yesterday not knowing truly what to expect. This could very easily have been a short & sweet ride and still be an acceptable Pier 39 attraction, however this was SO MUCH better than that!At no point did it feel rushed or lacking content. The experience started with a very cool/cute video experience in a dark room across a few 3D screens, very similar to experiences youll find on Universal or Disney rides. The videos told a story setting up the experience (though I wont give any spoilers here). The story continues with the ride itself. All of the video from start to finish showed stunning aspects of the city (and is a great way to decide where in San Francisco to visit during your trip!!). It really does showcase what a beautiful city it is! Once the floor drops from beneath your feet, and the ride begins, its a very immersive experience as you fly across the bay and around the city with the wind in your hair.I will absolutely be returning when my family visits SF later this year!!
I was expecting something similar to the soaring ride in Disneyland. Instead, the focus of this ride is on nauseating high speed flight with abrupt 90 degree direction changes. Screen resolution and clarity was also not very good even for the rare parts of the video where it slowed down enough to look around. Keep in mind that the motion base cannot keep up with the 90 degree turns so everyone in my family left the ride feeling nauseated and underwhelmed. This ride might appeal to young people looking for a virtual roller coaster ride.
A big fun surprise.. loved it
This is not what I was expecting at all! My family and I loved this! We purchased our tickets on Groupon. The price is reasonable. The ride itself is about 20mins. It’s so much fun! It takes you around the SF landmarks. If you are afraid of heights I wouldn’t recommend this. You feel like you are literally flying through the air and it can be scary for someone that is not okay with heights. The image quality is amazing. The customer service was excellent as well. This is a must try if you are in the pier. My 7 yr was the youngest and oldest was my mother in law. This is recommended for all ages
What an amazing ride! So cool to have an exciting ride specific to San Francisco. A truly energized and thrilling ride with iconic SF views. 100% fun and a must do for anyone seeking an exciting and entertaining attraction.
This is a great addition to Pier 39 and such a magical experience! I will definitely be coming back with my out-of-town visitors! The ride takes you on a magical journey across San Francisco. Its completely immersive and a breath-taking way to take in this beautiful city.
Cool attraction! Takes you all over the city and shows you some sites in a very cool way. Went with my teenage boys and my 74year old mother and we had a blast!
About 5 minutes long. Totally lame. We did a similar thing in Vancouver called Fly Over Vancouver which was so much better. At this one it never gets dark enough so you can always see the set. Also it’s just super cheesy beginning to end. Don’t waste your money.
You should definitely check it out! Be part of the movie and literally fly!
I bought tickets for a night out in the city and when I got there they were closed and the girl told me that I would have to just email the people to get my money back. First off, why would you let me purchase tickets if they aren’t even gonna be open? Anyways, they offered me free tickets. Said they would mail them to me. Did I ever get them? NOPE. Such a waste of time. A scam.
This was a nice experience but thought the ride would have been longer. There is a cute love story at the begin which gives a decent introduction to the ride itself.
We had so much fun on The Flyer! Soarin at Disneys California Adventure is one of my favorite theme park rides and I was hoping it would be comparable. Well, The Flyer blew me away. I was able to forget I was watching a video and really felt like I was flying. Lots of surprises with a great pre-flight experience. A great addition to must see San Francisco attractions. Looking forward to taking friends and family.
Do not waste your time and money on this useless act.Even five year old kid not going to like it.Very poor quality and service.
$25 for a 20 minute ride seems a tad on the high side but the storyline is cute.
Its ok. Im glad I used a groupon. Dont need to come back. 7 D downstairs is much more fun.
This ride is a super fun and immersive experience that takes you for a tour around San Francisco’s most iconic places from a totally new point of view! The Flyer not only highlights a storyline about love between two people, but will make everyone who rides it fall in love with the city.
Only leaving 1 star because I can’t leave 0. I recently purchased tickets for The Flyer on Pier 39. This attraction was not what I was expecting. I feel as if I was lied to. On the website and in store it is advertized that we can feel the unparalleled sensation of flying. However our feet never left the ground. How can I fly if the floor never lowerd. Only the middle seats floor lowered. When we asked we were told only the middle floor was suppose to lower. The guardrails never lowed either which blocked over a third of the screen. I definitely don’t think that it was worth the $25. I hope that this gets fixed soon.
The experience was fairly good but not as good as some other attractions nearby.
I had the pleasure of attending The Flyer–San Francisco’s opening night at Pier 39 the other day and let me tell you that this ride elevated the immersive, interactive ride space ... as if I were at Disneyland. This 20min ride rivals Universal Studios, Harry Potter ride. It’s that amazing. The Flyer takes you around San Francisco Bay as if you are costarring alongside its main star, the sneaky and mischievous, yet adorable, seagull.I have lived on a boat in a San Francisco Bay Area marina for the last ten years. The docks are littered daily with seagull food carcasses and seagull excrement almost creating a mine field level walking path. This daily hop-scotching to and from my boat makes me violently dislike seagulls — especially when my shoe lands in one of these messes. However, the main star of The Flyer is so adorable and mischievous that once swept up in its jet stream, you get lost in the beautiful cinematography as you hitch a ride through prominent city tourist sights with rarely and never seen views. And let’s talk about the ride itself. It starts off with a series of photos as you become a part of the story. The ride’s story follows a man who is about to propose to his love but is interrupted by a seagull snatching the ring thinking it is a delicious shiny treat to eat. The ride lifts off taking you through sweeping vistas around the Bay Area on a virtual rollercoaster. The cinematographer shot breathtaking footage and edited them together to create a Hollywood-like film. As a tourist, you’ll only get to see these views of San Francisco if you ride The Flyer. These sweeping views can’t be experienced any other way. That’s how unique this ride is. No VIP-level helicopter tour or VIP-level water cruise tour gets you close to these gorgeous Bay Area landmarks like The Flyer. The Flyer is a sibling to another awesome, immersive, interactive, playful ride at Pier 39 — the 7D Experience — located across from the merry-go-round towards the back of pier. The Flyer is located in the front of Pier 39 upstairs from the Hardrock Cafe/Restaurant. It costs $21 (child) and $31 (adult) to ride the 20min long adventure which comes out to $1.05 to $1.55 per minute, respectively. It bears repeating, this is an affordable way to see San Francisco in an extremely unique, immersive and memorable way.The layout design of the ride is a winding technologically advanced theatrical production ... as if you are on a mini movie set. The merchandise is appropriately priced, super cute, high quality souvenirs. They even have an adorable plush version of the mischievous seagull — I had to have one.Ride The Flyer. It’s a breathtakingly beautiful way to see San Francisco’s top rated tourist spots. The Flyer is a wonderful addition to Pier 39 and to San Francisco tourism overall. I’m excited that it’s here and will bring friends and family to experience it.
