I love San Francisco Carousel at Pier 39! Ive brought my son every year since hes been born ! Sure its a little worn down but I think it adds to the experience ! Im in my twenties and even I feel the magic haha I also really love the fact that you cannot enter unless you have a child with you. Also when purchasing a magic key you never have to buy another one ! We will definitely be returning soon.
Great fun riding high on imagination. I prefer the 2 time ride deal for double dose of fun!
My 5-year-old loves carousel, the moment she realized theres a carousel at this location, we had to get a ride on it.This may, at times, go unnoticed but I believe it suggests how family-friendly Pier 39 is, welcoming everyone regardless of age. Also, this fun ride doesnt only welcome kids but also grown-ups. Hint- its super fun.Tickets can be purchased from self-helping kiosks too near the carousel. If youre coming here with a child, there is just no way you can overlook this fun ride. The best part is that this carousel is two-tier, lower level & upper level. So you get to choose the spot that suits you the most.#Day2
One of those things you come to after having walk across the Maritime National Park and Jefferson street, and having crossed many piers and such. This place seems like a state fair in perpetual motion. Great eating places and bars nearby. However, its especially good for children. Theyll have a blast! Go there at night when the lights come on!
OMG brought back a lot of childhood memoriesIt is closed now due to the virus but still cool to look at
This carousel is located on Pier 39. It is located towards the end of the pier. First, before riding you will need to purchase a token. One token is $5 and three for $10. Depending on how many tokens you want you put your card in the corresponding credit card slot. Well, I didnt realize this and bought three tokens. Since I had three tokens I decided to ride one time with my son and let him ride twice. Note, parents are not free even if accompanying a small child. The carousel itself is very nice. It looks like they tried to recreate an old carousel but to be honest on the inside all of the should be paintings look like plastic which was a slight let down. The carousel is in very nice condition and all of the animals looked nice. My son loved the carousel and would ride as many times as I would have let him.The carousel was a nice attraction to visit on the Pier. I believe the price is about on par with other carousels in tourist attractions but at least at other locations the parents can ride with their small kids.
We had just one afternoon in San Francisco and this is where we went! I think its such a great spot to view the San Francisco Bay, visit the sea lions, and have a back drop of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz.Lots of fun stores with lots of variety to walk around and enjoy the San Francisco Bay! Really just endless options to walk around and try some great places out to eat, relax and do some shopping.
This is a really good carousel it has two floors the kids loved it.If my review helps you in any way can you PLEASE leave me a thumbs up like on my review. Thank you.
We sat around and watched the magician at the end of the pier for a good 20 30 minutes it was kind of funny. It was too much, day for me personally. But we stopped at a few of the local shops got some chocolate got some bread and clam chowder. And got a coffee. It was a fun couple hours.
Me and my wife were on holiday in San Francisco in November 2018we past this lovely Carousel a number of time and it looked even more lovely at night with its lights onI did not take a photo of it at night but did take a photo the first time we saw it we were passing looking for somewhere to get a meal
This Place Pier 39! Is the Greatest Place on Earth! As well as Many Others in this World! Get off the Couch and just Go Peoples!!
They asked to buy a token for me and for my infant. Come on people, I was standing beside him. He is an infant. Very cheap way to charge people money. I would give Zero star if possible.
Brilliant a must do if you are dear
Great vistas. Lots of boats and ships. A place for flowers too. Some of the best flowers on show throughout the year around Pier 39.
Pricey as expected for a tourist spot. I went on with my kids and we loved it. We went on the upper deck for the novelty. You save on three tokens, unfortunately not more, so Daddy sat this one out.
Very crowded but its a nice place to walk and people watch. Good food and sometimes you run into people that have been on TV.
Enjoy this area. Can enjoy good coffee and warm clam chowder in a bread bowl. You can see seals in the back area.
Dont forget to dress warm!
San Francisco wow dont want to live there but to visit its great very expressive bring spending money great stores at Pier 39 lots of things to do
The coolest carousel I have ever seen. It is TWO STORY! I found my inner child and rode it twice! It was awesome.
Great spot, just pricey
Very cool, so many different animals!
Brought my sons here the oldest road it 5 years ago now my youngest go to experience it as well
It was like I was a kid again when I road on it so fun!
Such a fantastic place to eat amazing food, shop and do things with the family like a carousel or arcade. There is a fantastic little crepe shop there, Houdinis shop, etc.
They changed the rules. Adults have to pay both if you have a infant. Waiting time is long. Service is bad. The volume of music is low.
Beautiful old carousel.
Touristic attracting family and friends, so near Oceanside.
Fun ride for kids the ride has beautiful artwork of local sites of the Bay Area
Kids favorite ride, horse!! You can get tokens using cash or credit cards at the vending machine
So much fun for the little ones, make sure you go the upper deck on the carousel
Everyone has fun here!!!
If you dont have a ten, and are buying three tokens, let the carousel attendant know, theyll make sure you get three.Every time I have gone on this carousel I get sick, but every child loves it!!Its super fast!!!
Fun place to take kids
Great if you are visiting San Francisco with kids.
Little bit pricy for a ride, but its the cost of enjoying the ambience on pier 39. Its beauty and lights attracts not just kids but anyone that is visiting the Piers at fishermans Wharf
Had a Really Nice Time
A great place for children of all ages and at a great cost
Expensive. $10 for 3 rides, parents must accompany small kids and are required to pay. Cool carousel though.
Fun kid attraction at Pier 39. Its a double decker carousel and on most weekdays you could probably have the whole thing to yourself. Buy tokens out in front and then give them to the attendant.
This was fun and watching my daughter was wonderful.
Nice double decker carousel at 5 bucks a ride
Friendly staff. Carosel needs a bit of love and the horses did not go up and down as they usually would.
Looked interesting.
Such a great attraction beautiful scenery
Fun tourists trap
They use tokens and have a machine that accepts cash or card for the token. also, offers 3 tokens for $10. Cute carousel that haa two levels of seating so theres room for kids to pick where they want to sit.
Took my niece and nephew each as toddlers and brought them back this year. Really fun.
Fun ride for our daughter.
$5/ride, theres a machine to change into tokens and the machine takes debit cards. Its a two story carosel. My children enjoyed it
Huge carousel! Kids loved it.
Fun go if in San Francisco
Pier 39 watching seals lions and eating everything around from to
How can U Not love pier 39 carousel
Cool double decker carousel. Tourist prices on the carousel though. Stick with the downtown one, GG Park, or Santa Cruz for classic carousels.
Fun place to visit. San Francisco is always a terrific place to vacation. Unfortunately, not a livable place, outrageously expensive housing, a lot of homelessness, drug use, violence.
Lots of cool places around
Its a pricey ride for a carousel fee but expected for the pier. Make sure to get in the right line first because you need a coin to get on the ride. (coins are purchased from the kiosk machine and then given to the carousel operator)If you go during the slow hours in the day time you might get a super cool operator who will change the music to your childs favorite Disney song. Im a local who would visit constantly with my daughter. She would dress up and they would change the music to fit her costume. The ride may look tiny for a carousel but it took my daughter a few attempts before she was ready to ride it alone. It has a small wip to it!
My daughter loved this carousel
Super fun for the kids to have a good time. However, the maze was very short. But it was a great deal on Groupon, so it was worth it.
Had a great time! Great place
Very festive, its a crowded place
Magical place
Loved watching my kids smile
Great fun..I love how its open at night too
Fun dual level carousel ride but bit overpriced. 1 ride for $5 or 3 for $10
$5 for a few rounds is a little steep but kid enjoyed.
Beautiful, childhood heaven!
Way overpriced and unfriendly employees. I will ever take my kids back to this place. Horrible experience! They ruined our entire day.! Do not ever take your kids to this place!
Sooo fun
Especially enjoyed the left-handed store and the video game-adventure-ride thing.
Fun, double decker, kids smiling, Now comes price Smh
Fun place for family
Kids love it here
My granddaughter loved it
Its very nice. make sure to bring cash.
Good stuff for the kids
Beautiful, satisfactory sunshine
Everyone was happy.
A bit pricey but a smooth ride.
