Best ice in SD. Facility spotless. Staff very polite, attentive, and professional. Great example for every arena.
Fun ice skating rink, wish the skates were more comfortable. Not super crowded and employees are on the ice at all times to make sure no one gets hurt. Fair price to ice skate compared to other places but limited hours.
The facility is top notch but the skates are a little worn. One skate fit good but the other was loose.
This is the cheapest ice skating rink around, and is a very good size. But make sure to bring insoles for the skates because they will leave you blisters and leave your arches hurting after only 5 mins. The only problem with this place is the non existent support in the skates
Great ice facilities. Staff are always very nice.
Great community facility. There are a hundred things to do here from ice skating to swimming to soccer! You can have parties, join leagues or just practice any number of sports. There is also a great events center for plays and performances.
4 hours skates included good price. Just need to add snack bar . Would be perfect
Every employee and coach I have met has been a really awesome find! This place is very nice and clean and the ice is beautiful. The hours are pretty nice and the over all atmosphere is comfortable. You also will meet a lot of different people of all kinds at public skate. I love getting snacks from inside the Rick and outside from the coffee shop out side and going to watch my friend skate. The procedures are easy and quick. Also you can see all levels of skating here! They also throw Birthday parties xD!!!!
Played hockey there since it opened, best rink in the city, Possibly county, but I haven’t been to the Escondido rink in at least a decade and I’ve never been to Carlsbad one.
Not a bad rink though not a lot of seating for hockey games. Also is significantly behind the curve as far as selling food and drink as compared to other rinks.
A very fun place to go ice skating with friends and family! Good service and there is also a hockey team that plays, the rink closes at 3, It is a great place to start your interest in ice skating for figure skating or hockey!
It is a great place for kids to roam around and play. The pool was crowded with camp kids having a blast.
I have always enjoyed coming down and watching my nephews play hockey...until today. The opposing teams parents were absolutely belligerent..Screaming, yelling obscenities and cheering when the female goallie was injured...it absolutley ruined the game for most of us.These are kids playing for god sake...what is wrong with people?I dont think i will be back again. As an adult, i dont have to put up with this s%@*! I feel sorry for the kids...
Great fun for kids learning to skate.
My son plays soccer here and I love that there is fences and Gates all around the soccer field, the grass needs a little work and there are a lot of rocks all over the place, need to remodel the field, other than that, great place
My grandkids love it there (good prices as well)
Awesome place for family, many activities year round; hockey, football, swimming, fitness, guitar, piano, karate and more!! Facilities are great :)
I love it. I only wish it had more hours to let you go ice skating
Grandson and daughter skated. They had a great time. Clean place nice people working there.
It was super fun, and you really get your moneys worth. Its great for a family outing or a first date, any occasion. Plus, its the cheapest place around (at aroind $10) and its open year round.
Clean. And helpful/ friendly staff. Its like a YMCA... BUT BETTER! Up-to-date gym equipment, two pools, a nice field. Child care center, summer camps, Senior Citizens friendly. Music (Piano) lessons of all kinds. Library usage. Family loves it so much, we have memberships. Never felt this way about the Y.
Great mix of ages, classes, ethnicities and all free to Silver Sneakers. So good to be with kids and enjoy pools again with friendly people.
I really like it here. The staff are nice and the facility is well taken care of.
Fun. Great for parties!
Great time for the kids but no more hockey skates for rental anymore. Guess Ill just have to buy my own.
Great ice rink. Beautiful ice with cozy interior. Coffee out front, nothing more needed, except a win.
Wonderful facility for the community. The kids had a fantastic time and staff was very accomadating for my daughters birthday party. Thank you very much staff.
Really fun ice skating
Can get either hockey skates or ice skating skates. Its really fun, with guards watching all the time. Gets a little busy sometimes though!
It was fun to watch the kids skate
Kroc was amazing. This is by far one of the best rinks Ive ever been to.
This facility is just beautiful. The ice surface is probably the best in the SoCal area! I would rank it up there with professional ice and by far a lot better than other rinks. The locker rooms are first class as well, very clean with plenty of room.A must try if youre in the area and looking for a place to ice skate.
My daughter and I come about twice a week for ice skating classes, and for public skate. She loves it! I love the staff there as well. Amazing place to come if you want your kids to skate or learn to skate. 10 dollars on weekdays include rentals and 8 dollars on weekend including rentals too!
Well-maintained, friendly atmosphere, not too crowded. Theres a decent coffee stand just outside the entrance. Parking in front is sometimes tight, but theres a lot in back, too, and turnover is steady.
This place is amazing I love hockey to play and to watch and public skating this is my playground
My nephews love this place.
Joan Kroc left quite a legacy. The Joan Kroc Center is it Community hub. People of all ages use this Center. I personally take a water aerobics class that is challenging. I also take Community College courses there specifically brain training. Its a online course but the class meets there 3 days a week. For a Joan Kroc Center to happen in a neighborhood there is standards that need to be met. This neighborhood met all expectations. Not only does it have activities for the elderly and very young during the day. Teenagers young adults and adults use it during the dinner hour and at night. The facility houses at church and see her and ice rink three swimming pools basketball court and daycare for little kids. The whole complex is very safe including the parking lot. The employees are very professional and kind and do their utmost to serve your needs. This is small go to snack bar thats a little pricey but offers what you may be looking for it to eat. I give it 5 stars and recommend this place or anybody whos in the neighborhood or within driving distance. I live about 5 miles away and use it as my second home. Its your loss if you dont take advantage of this generous gift from Joan Kroc.
Ive been reading some of the complaints and why I do agree with some of them I feel that some are straight up irrelevant. Dont listen to the people saying its to busy, its that way during the season and its a popular place. I feel like there are a lot of beginners and a lot of the people are annoyed by what they do for the private lessons during normal skating. But I did it and they were getting in the way either because they went through the little section they were practicing in or they skidded in by accident. I also saw someone say that the coaches dont care which I never witnessed. Now when I was there some coaches were hard on you especially some of the hockey ones but it was to was get you better. I personally loved free skating around with friends from my school or lessons because you had a chance to talk about things and show off skills. Ive overall had a great time at the Kroc Center and I loved playing games their.
Public ice skating rink near SDSU and College Grove
I enjoy using the therapy pool at the Kroc Center. The employees are all very helpful. The spa and bathroom are always clean. And its a very pleasant atmosphere.
One of the best rinks around!
Its is so great with all the employees being nice to the new customers. But some can be on the rude side with them first either dismissing that the customers are their, also by telling them off by saying no those are to small for you, or by just telling the customers hmm? Oh its just another f**cking person in front of me.: That is why the Kroc ice center is only okay.
Great place, the kids love it!
This place is amazing. Great family fun for everyone. The have a nice pool and ice skating rink, also have fun classes to take and play to preform
My son and I are taking the beginner ice skating class. The teachers are great. The staff are friendly.
State of the art facilities!
The pool exercise classes are the BEST!
Fun to see everyone skate
Lifeguards are awesome here. When youve been there a while they call you by your name. Other people who ho there are always in a good mood. My son has ASD and he loves coming for swimming pool as well as basket ball and the soccer field.
They have built a beautiful place here. Great for families and seniors. Wonderful people here too!
Love the rink. The skates are extremely uncomfortable so I always end up getting off the ice before I get my moneys worth. My only complaint but it is a huge part of my rating
The ice skating price and rentals are nice staff was really nice but one woman on duty was really rude I dont complain much but I dont want kids to be put down because her attitude
Good place to ice skate.
Ice skating lessons for 7 weeks, $99 plus free rental skates and can use the rink for free for the duration of the lessons. Great deal. I love the teachers for tiny tots!
Great value for those learning to skate but watch out for the many novices and very light staffing levels. Facilities are new and well kept but rental equipment is extremely basic.
Cheapest place to ice skate. They even had skates small enough to fit my small three year old. All three kids loved skating and stayed on the ice the entire time we were there. We got a Groupon deal for $20.00 for four skaters, great deal and great fun.
Great facility with programs for any age. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have really enjoyed using this ice rink
It was very fun! Everyone was very nice.
Great value. This facility has swimming pool, ice arena and a day care. Prices are below average and the service is good.
Great ice rink, really well maintained ice.
Wonderful venue. Well- managed, clean, easy to get in and out. Ice is too quality.
This is an amazing place. There should be more places like this all over the city. Especially on low income areas.
Nice rink!
Great place for a kids birthday. Took my daughter & 16 of her friends. Reasonable & they had a blast. Its bring your own & clean your own ut well worth it if youre ok with that.
My girls had a blast for cheap!!
Ice skating. Broom ball
Not as crowded as the weekend - dress warmly if youre not skating!
The ice is really well maintained. Other rinks I have been to do private lessons during stick time, which I find annoying. It was nice to see that was not the case here. Ill be back for sure.
Very nice rink and not to crowded. Love going to the Sunday 1pm-3 -3pm public skate! (Heading there now lol)
Its really fun! They have Ice skating, swimming, and some other things too!
Fun fun fun and not too pricey
Excellent and well kept ice rink. Good rink for all levels of skating.
Always a good time and the staff is great my daughter has been skating there and the instruction they provide is the best also a little know fact that a lot of famous skaters offer lessons there . My daughters instructor Luis is a six time champion and number one in Mexico as well as number 17 in the world so the value of instruction is amazing
I have been going here since I was 2 yrs old. I love this place, fantastic people and programs.
98 degrees - Im a skating!
There were some friendly people and try to give you tips on how to get better.
I would give the KROC center 5 out of 5 stars, but sometimes being able to swim laps for a good workout is a flip of the coin in regards to actually having the chance to do so due to various activities happening in the competition pool. The KROC should work on more of a digital mainstream approach in notifying members who pay each month when these activities and/or other closures are taking place due to various reasons throughout the center, meaning email and mass sms text messages. Snail mail works too.We do love the KROC despite that one nominal adjustment that we feel they should make. Playcare is great for the kids and their gym is awesome! They have various pieces of equipment and machines to utilize for your daily workouts. We strongly suggest that everyone look into the KROC center as an option for them and their families. There are a TON of activities for everyone in the family and it keeps you and your kids active!
I love this place because I skate here admits taught me so many skills on skating!
This is a good price and if you have clases group and single you can ice skate when they are open it awsome and you can have parties.
Gr8 place to bring the kiddos! Had an absolute blast (& I havent sk8ed in a long time!) Way better prices than UTC!
I love having my daughter in ice skating classes. Very good staff.
Clean. Great customer service. Great environment
Great facilities. Poorly run. Classes for kids are taught with little care or concern for child.
Very friendly staff. Ive is the best in San Diego. Hockey program is also the best in San Diego,
Si far all employees are nothing but respectful, helpful, and caring! With much enthusiasm
We have played hockey here for a couple years now. It is safe and fun for the whole family.
Great community rink. It can get busy though.
Full size ice rink. No pro shop. Pretty good ice.
Best ice in san Diego. Feels like an East coast rink
My granddaughter doing hockey
This is a beautiful center, very clean, great ice, clear clean glass, lots of comfortable seating, cafe right outside, vending inside, and the home teams are amazing! I wish we were local and could come to this center!
Soccer field, swimming pool,b ball court, child care, ice rink.just a nice place for the children and adults
I went to Kroc Center to get supplemental food, via their association with the Salvation Army. They have a nice progran and the staff is helpful and polite (also bi-lingual). Later I got an adjusted fee membership at the Center...very helpful for my stroke rehabilatation. They have 3 pools one of which is heated to 94 degrees and is great for therapy. There is the latest in excercise machines and free weights. Very wonderful group, IMHO.
I love it there. Great people, great facility
