This is a great little park with an amazing view. If you’re looking to hike Black Mountain, take the trail up from this park. If you follow the “Nighthawk” trail it will bring you right to the top

This park is in the shadow of Black Mountain, and has its own amazing views. We come here before sunset to BBQ with our grill and watch the sun set in the sky. Large plush green grass field, for any activity. And surrounded by a paved walkway for running, biking etc. Spacious and accommodating for families, parties, and all others. A truly relaxing and joyful park.

Nice park, always busy with birthday parties. Lot of space. Parking is little hassle.

Easily one of my favorite community parks. Clean, family friendly, a great view and pretty low key for the locals. The environment is pretty relaxing. I usually head up there in the mornings for a quick jog. Definitely recommend checking it out. #noliterringplease

I only go there to hike but it is clean safe and has an endless.

Excellent views and lots of space. Its also a great place to fly kites. That said, it can get a little windy so have a light jacket ready.

Great place to start a hike up Black Mountain, to have a kids birthday party or to take little ones and let them burn off some energy. Two different playgrounds for different age kids. Spacious. Parking can be tricky since its so popular, but street parking is just fine.

Its a beautiful place to watch the sunset or moonrise. Nice place to visit. Very clean park and kept up very well.

This park has everything. Beautiful views of San Diego, a well maintained playground, basketball courts, clean bathrooms, a community hall, exercise equipment, plenty of parking, and a huge grassy area for my toddler to run around!I also appreciated that the grounds keeper told us to beware of the snakes that she had been seeing. She showed me a picture, and told me to protect my baby. I thought that was so nice of her to be concerned!

Nice view and park, plus a great place to run. However, some people are pigs and some of the trash cans and covered areas had trash everywhere. Plus there were alot of bugs but maybe because of the trash.

Hilltop Park is a sweet park in the Rancho Penaquitos neighborhood of San Diego.It has a safe playground for kids. It also has a large area for frisbee or other field sports.There is also a tennis courts and restrooms.

Best place for a hangout with friends and to have a bbq a big part there is a gazebo where you can have a birthday party or just a picnic and there is tennis court to play tennis.

Great park. They play movies in the summer, it seems like it would be great for families. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on leash.

Awesome park with basketball courts, 2 playgrounds and a big field surrounded by tables and exercise stations. Theres also a community center for hosting events, and the views are quite nice. It is also a nice place to stargaze at night, and truly a pq treasure.

Love this park. Ive been taking my grandson here since he was a baby. It has 3 separate play age appropriate play areas. A big walking/bike riding path that surrounds a grassy area. Great place to fly kites also.

I love how it overlooks the Mira Mesa area. Its a great place to bring your kid and chill.

Fantastic views are yours at this park. On a clear day, you can see forever.

My favorite park mostly because it is close to home. Two great play areas for kids. Lot of covered picnic tables. Huge green top and when the weather is good, you can see the ocean from there. Typically very less crowded during weekdays, even in weekends it is not that crowded unless there is a party going on. Lot of space for my kids to typically go in his scooter.

This is a beautiful park with a lot of open space and an amazing view. This park is usually always a bit cooler than the surrounding areas and the breeze can get a bit chilly in the evenings. The play areas for kids are excellent. Also has a huge grass field and basketball courts

Nice park, nice views. As the name suggests it is on top of a hill, so it is not exactly shady. Sometimes it is kind of windy as well. But still, overall it is very good park: several decent baseball courts, nice playground, public restrooms, some other facilities available as well. An ice cream truck stops by pretty often, which makes kids happy.

Clean. Outdoor workout areas. Large flat field. Sand playground. Flat circlular walking path. Tables and benches. Clean bathrooms, though old styled with metal sinks and toilet bowls.

I like that there around three playgrounds and you can see the local highschool football field from there

Its a nice park on top of a hill. Two full-court gyms with lighting. Has a water fountain, and restrooms. I didnt get to check out the rest of the park since I went there to play some bball at night time. I really liked it.

Thier view looking down on canyons is very peaceful and incredible. I went there for a indian cultural festival. The open air park is great for events . Especially the view looking over the community is amazing. The name hill top suits very well

First time here since Im new to the area but its a great part for a rational or irrational use jogging and light exercise dip bars pull up bars Etc

Nice park! Very good size with 3 different play areas for children of different ages. Lots of nice open green space as well as covered tables too.

This place is wonderful. It has a large expanse of grass and plenty of playground equipment. They even have little tent booths parties can reserve. The place is refreshing and provides a good environment for children to play in.

I come here every once in a while to just walk around when its dark, to take my mind off of everything and just relax for a little while. Theres a loop that you can wall around that is just long enough to feel like your not walking in circles, and at night theres a bunch of rabbits that come out. Its fairly busy durring the daytime, so I dont often go durring the day.

I love the amount of space and separate playgrounds here. Ive got 2 kids who are runners so this is perfect!

Good little park with great views, open spaces and play area for the little ones. Parking always seems to be just enough, but can get crowded during events. Most of the time, you have plenty of room.

Watching the frisbee soar, with black mountain, behind it. The sunset, views as far as La Jolla, open grassy space. This is my new favorite park in suburban northern San Diego, its way better than Sabre Springs park!

I love to walk here however the park is poorly maintained, trash and dead brush. Terrible for familys.

Great walk with a ranger, viewed the strawberry moon and learnt a lot about the moon and rocks. A great experience.
