Ive been coming here for over the past 10 years and can say with certainty this park has been getting worse over time. They do not properly maintain their facilities, especially the basketball courts. Half of the nets are torn or ripping. They also seem to turn the lights off at night for the basketball courts. But leave them on for the tennis courts and field. They have large groups of people playing on both but seem to only want to deter those playing basketball? Cant say Im surprised though given the gradual degradation of this rec center.

Came to this park for the Movies at the Park event. I love the amphitheatre they have. Playground area is well kept and has ample running space. Parking is easy.

Great staff. Clean pools. Every time I have visited, it was never too full. Just the right amount of people.

Wish the pool would open. Nevertheless, the ground is well kept.

Its nice to come here on a sunny day and walk all around the paths and stairs and enjoy the different views.

Great public pool! Unfortunately its a little run down and the childrens play area was closed early due to staffing issues. My biggest complaint is that the ground is chipping and makes it uncomfortable to sit and stand in areas of the pool. But the employees are awesome and my daughter had so much fun in the shallow pool. Great price. Right next to a park which is fun

There is a room to play almost any sports

I love being a part of the Carmel Valley Recreation Center. There is such a strong sense of community with wonderful programs including, Movies in the Park, the Spring Egg Hunt, and Breakfast with Santa. They also offer a variety of classes. Everything from art kids gymnastics to adult yoga. I am grateful to have the place to offer my yoga and fitness program

Great community resource! Free open gym time for kids to practice basketball, well maintained outdoor courts with lighting and restrooms, pool (at nominal charge) tennis courts, baseball field.. what more can you wish for?

Bathrooms by the basketball court were smelly and dirty on a recent Sunday night.

Perfect place for kids and families to hang out. Annual Christmas movie night with free dinner was really nice treat.

Always bomb. The staff is always willing to assist and have their own distinct personalities. Love hooping and playing pickleball here.

Nice place small family picnic. Several tables, bbq grills (and disposals) and play fields (soccer, basketball, etc.). Recommended.

I enjoy the pickleball there, but wish that there was air conditioning.

Such a nice community center -- there are activities going on all the time. They have meeting rooms you can reserve and rent for next to nothing. Nice staff and clean bathrooms. You have to love a place that has a book swap shelf!

I love this place. I do water fitness with Dennis and there arent enough positive words to describe my experience. Dennis is encouraging and at the same time a tough task master. I love how my body has responded under his direction!

I popped by here today to find out when table tennis is played.I had been here before and didnt get much help from the guy behind the counter. This time I got lucky and ran into a very helpful staff member named Tiffany who pretty much gave me the same answer the previous dude had given me.......they dont keep a printed schedule for table tennis so she couldnt tell me when I might get a hit.But Tiffany did tell me about a place I have never heard of only 10 minutes down the road called Ocean Air Recreation Center.They play a fair bit of table tennis there and have a printed schedule when the rooms are available.Thanks so much Tiffany!

Nice rec center with gym, pool, ball fields and tennis courts. Could use to be updated, but it is a facility that is of great value to our community.If you use this facility, please enjoy and make sure to throw away your trash. There are a lot of garbage cans - it would be GREAT if more visitors used them. #pleasedontlitter

Great place to walk, swim, and exercise. We love the pre-school that is there!

This is a great place to swim, but the reason why I didnt rate it 5 stars is because the lifeguard are sometimes stricked

This is a nice park with a good size soccer field and a play area . We like taking our kids here often

Great place to play sports or just picnic. They have great concerts and movies in the park in the summer. Lower area could be better maintained. Needs new lights, dark at night.

The parks are great, but the softball and baseball fields are not the best in quality.

I was in the swim team for around 12 years. Prices for swims are very affordable.

Park, fields, softball, basketball, bathrooms. The play structure doesnt have much/any shade so it gets very hot in the sun. Otherwise this is a great place for kids and adults to play outside. Located across from Del Mar Highlands shopping center theres food and shopping a short walk away.

The only public bathroom outside is on the upper level. The bathroom in the lower level, which is where the playground is, is inside the rec center. There are no swings or sand boxes here. Thr amphetheater provides a nice grassy area for kids to run around but unfortunately is often littered.

Wonderful rec center. I like the outside spaces, grass field, shady trees. Currently (Aug 2017) lots of maintenance happening.

Fun place for swimming, great areas for many different activities.

Large complex with two kids areas, two baseball fields, a large pool with slides and a wading pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a building that hosts a variety of activities (indoor volleyball, gymnastics, kids arts and crafts). Theres an open air auditorium that hosts movies and music over the summer weekends.

Came here for a swim meet. Good location, parking is a bit tight, but street parking helps. Staff was friendly, and facility was clean.

Staff is very unprofessional and site needs an upgrade. Very outdated for the price of homes in the area. Rude staff members should not be representing Carmel Valley.

Be really careful when figuring out the hours for recreational swim times. Also they dont actually open the water slides until someone asks them to and even then it can take 30 minutes to get staff members out there.
