At first, I was against the replacement of the park; Mostly because of the memories my siblings and I had created with our parents... I think everyone my age mutually felt the same pain. Despite those feelings, the upgrades are way better than the splinters from the old wooden playground. The built in ping-pong and chess tables is an awesome touch. The splash pads and sand trap kinda feels like your at the beach. Not to mention the well lit spacious restrooms... And theres a chicken coop!!! My family and I will definitely make new memories at the new Hemisphere Park.
A beautiful park! I was so excited to bring my kids here.....got here only to discover the playground features are all still closed. My boys were so disappointed. I just wish Id known before we came so they wouldnt have been sad.Once reopened, well definitely be coming to play.
Beautiful park located downtown San Antonio. Its similar to Levy Park and Discovery Green in Houston, TX but 1000 times better. The playground area is pretty unique with a lot of climbing. The kids will probably enjoy the trampoline slide. There are games and very good restaurants close by as well. There is a very big sandpit and area with chickens in it that entertained the kids. The only downside I saw was parking was murder. Its a very small area and you really had to get lucky or be prepare to wait. Parking is $6.00 but other areas are more expensive so I suggest to wait if possible (its quite close to a couple hotels so if possible to walk as well).
Google Maps missed the mark with this place. We walked around the garden and play area and never saw a sculpture! If you have toddlers, this is a fun, free park to swing and play. Not for teens or artsy ppl looking for outdoor sculptures. We did see many monarch butterflies because of the beautiful butterfly friendly garden area.
Fun place for the kiddos. Popcicle stand has flavors like fruity peoples and oreo cookie.
Fun place with plenty to do and its free, theres some good places for food nearby and easy to get to on bus.
It’s a beautiful park and when I took my grandson during the week it was great. This Sunday my grandson and family went and it was terrible. Kids and teenagers on toddler toys but not letting anyone else use them. Then to top it off a group of teenagers just lit up some big blunts right in front of he little kids. Although I had fun with him his parents were very disappointed in such a city gem
As Ive said before, this place is nothing like the old hemisphere park. The only good thing about it now is the water pad & the restrooms are bigger & a little more nice.
My son had a blast they have games for the kids
Fun place for the kids and adults to walk around plenty of games for everyone.
Its really a fantastic park they have all kinds of games to play.
Beautiful, perfect park to take kids to! Water fountains and splash pad, sand area with little showers nearby for rinsing sandy hands and feet, climbing area with all kinds of ropes and swings, right next to a Commonwealth Cafe for an amazing breakfast or lunch. Visited on a weekday before lunch and it was very quiet, only a few people/kids there.
This place is one of the biggest gems in San Antonio. Perfect for families and kids!
Awesome park for the whole family. There is a huge playground, all kind of swings, chess mat, ping pong tables, foosball tables, cornehole and splash pad. Adding to it the electric scooters are available everywhere. Public restroom very clean and handicap accessible, as well as very green, everything recyclable. Many places to eat dinner and have some dessert. Great place to spend a weekend for the whole family!!!!
Everything closed (not complaining) but it was nice to walk thru Still a beautiful
I decided to bring my kiddos by this park after school on a whim, and Im glad I did. Pretty cool place- especially the jeweled Jaguar. Got some great pictures on it. Everything here was fairly age appropriate for those with kids under 9 or 10. I will say that some of the stuff has to be maintained better, but its a cool place if you want to try something other than your typical slide and swing park. Cant wait to try the splash pad in the Summer.
I am blown away with what the city has done with this park. There are changing rooms by the splash pad for your kiddos and there are sensory activities for all ages of kids. There are nice place to sit and several restaurants within walking distance. This place is fantastic and Ill be going back soon!
I am a mother of 2 and have to say this place is so amazing and have play sets that are like rope climbing things that I myself got up there and climbed on and had a friggin blast myself they have a sit and spin and a raft like thing made into a swing. And they have wind chime like music instruments you can play that make beautiful reverberating sound that you cant ignore plus metal drums across from that. That I made a melody I wanted to hear repeatedly. I should of put it on tik tok.
Went today at 1pm and not so surprised that we had the park to ourselves. The summer heat keeps the crowds away. Kids had a blast on the playground and I cool off my feet in the splash pad. Very nice park that keeps evolving and getting even better. There is also a restaurant in addition to the gourmet palateria.
Great place for a walk and kids love the park
Beautiful park the only bad thing about this park is location I guess since there isnt much parking. There is a parking next to it but its kind of pricey $4 dollars 1 hr. $6 dollars two hours etc ... you have to give exact change though I paid with a 5 dollar bill and gave me only one hour and no change. Once at the park is a beautiful place with tons of activities for the kids and adults.
This park is FREE and amazing whether you have a big kiddo or little one. We took our toddler and she enjoyed the heck out of it. Its clean, well cared for, offers a lot of fun and unique play areas, a good sized splash pad for some fun on warm days, a usable giant chess and checkers game board and lots of semi-covered and covered seating around for parents/family. Its also surrounded by little places to grab snacks or food. We parked behind the Magik Theatre on a Saturday and it was $6 for two hours.
Theres so much to do for all ages and attitudes and physical limitations. Everyone can have a great time without fear of it being crowded because theres so much room the more the merrier!
We love this park! Its vibrant and fun, so much for the kids to see and do, water pads nearby, ice cream as well. We lucked out and there was a huge Lego house there too!
This place is great for family fun. Its a big playground area for kids young and older. There is a few small snack shops around the area. Such as ice cream and food to eat. There is a slash pad area and a big climbing area for kids to play. A butterfly garden and much more. I recommend this place period. It is walking distance from the tower of Americas its no more then a five min walk to the tower. Great place for kids to have fun.
Great park to enjoy a walk and enjoy a nice family outing
This is the best park in the entire world! I absolutely recommend it for anybody and everybody! Appropriate for kids of all ages and adults too!!
My youngest loves coming to this park. While it is a bit of pain getting here, once were here, we have the most fun playing everything from ping-pong to chess. The playgrounds are nice and clean, and everyone here seems to be having a great time. It is a great place to feel connected to the city and all that is going on.
Super fun little jungle gym and modern design playground. Really cool space. Had foosball, ping pong, chess, checkers and bean bag toss for the more grownup ones there too.
Wonderful childrens park. Extremely limited parking--unless you pay by the 1/2 hour in a parking lot. Splash park, swings, sandpit, ping pong, ice cream shop, cafe. Lots & lots of shade and places to sit. We easily spent 2 1/2 hrs here. Lots of mosquitoes—bring bug spray!
Our favorite San Antonio park for kids! Splash pad, amazing jungle gyms, swings, outdoor checkers, coffee shop for adults, a chicken coop, and close to La Villita/riverwalk. There’s also lots of seating for adults in the shade. For parking, we always use the Durango Lot on Cesar Chavez. You can also park in the neighborhood right behind it.
Lots of fun... not sure its worth the drive from the out skirts of the city. But if youre in the area its fun!
Clean,nice,modern little park .
Excellent place. The kids had a great time. Didnt want to leave. Very friendly atmosphere.
So much fun! My daughters had a blast. Will definitely be going back this summer. Very clean and well maintained!
Love the improvements over the years. This is really a great family place to take a walk, relax and let the kiddos play......or even a nice quiet night alone to enjoy the outdoors and relax with a drink (or ice cream) . Something for everyone in beautiful downtown S.A.
I love this park. My daughter loves this park and wants to go all the time. The food, splash pad, and sandbox are our favorite thing to do! The play ground area is perfect for any age!
This place is super fun for the kids and whole family can enjoy
Great place to enjoy with kids downtown!
Smaller than I thought it would be from pictures I saw but it’s a very cute park. Lots of things for kids to climb on. If you walk down a little further there’s a splash pad and a sand pit that my son loved.
Beautiful park in downtown San Antonio. Splash pad is refreshing and site is stunning.
Had a blast at the splash pad!
The playground was well kept and had a ton of activities for the little ones. We loved it!
Great place to spend some time with the family. Everyone can find something to do here. Shops and restaurants close by, play area for the kids. They also have chess, checkers and corn hole .
Love this park and the big checker game is great for adults while kiddos play.
Great new playground!! I wish Id taken some pictures - there are Foosball tables, ping pong table, a place to play cornhole, a giant checkers game, and lots of cool playground equipment - plus a little area with some chickens in it!
I loved it. Me and my fiance played checkers (i won) but i love how they have something for all ages. I would totally recommend Yanaguana Gardens for your family to enjoy a day out.
Its such a beautiful day!
Love, love, love this park. It has something for the whole family. It is beautiful in every way and makes outdoor moments with the family more desirable anytime of day!
Great place for the kids!! We it!! Especially the splash pad. Thank u!!!
Great place for families, even in the summer! Cant wait for the completion of the next phase.
This place is so awesome. All the art and colors makes it a happy place(:
Wonderful park to spend the morning with kids. Theres a splash pad on the other side of the park and also if you walk a little bit you will have a perfect view of the Tower of the Americas.
Nice BUT Corona got it locked down!!
Great place for kids. We are having a lot of fun on Christmas eve. 11:59 P.M.
Great place for kids to cool off and play. Parents can watch & relax
In my opinion, this is the best part of hemisfair Park. I dont even have small kids, but I love what they created, and its neat to see families enjoying it. We walk through often.
This place is great for families it has a splash pad, okay ground, checkers, ping pong, foosball, and plenty of other fun things you can do. And all is for free. How awesome is that........
Oh my gosh it was so amazing a lot of activities for my grandkids
Awesome place for kids and dates. Small water park and a huge sand box for the children. Challenge your date at the Foosball and PingPong tables! Or go climbing in there play ground.
Amazing and fun little park with plenty of seating, shade, activities. Easy parking. Food nearby. Bring towels for splash park.
Awsome place to have fun with the family.
Amazing playground which is located in downtown of San Antonio. Many restaurants are around here and only 5 mins of walk to the riverwalk trail.
Very clean and child/stroller friendly park. Something for all age groups. Has a small splash park within. Parking is available nearby. If you dont mind walking a little, you may be able to park for free. Cafe and ice cream shops nearby.
Theres always tons of things going on at this park! When they first built it I thought the table games would get all messed up etc. But theyve maintained them so well! Theres always a ball for table tennis and for fusball. We like to walk from here to the riverwalk and over to the mall to grab a bite at the food court. Its generally and all day event at this park.
We really miss the wood park that was there but my kids do also enjoy the splash pad and climbing structures. Its also nice just to walk through and relax on the swings for us big kids.
Pretty awesome place to go to and play with your kids. Lots more to see besides one picture
This is a great place for kids. I however, have a non verbal 4 year old autistic son who really cant play on anything. The swings are nice. My son could easily get lost.
Excellent place to sit back and relax
Awesome place to visit for FREE with kids. Sand area. Splash fountains. Swings & lots of things to climb on. We spent hours here. Walking distance from downtown & the Riverwalk.
Excellent playground for kids all ages.Activists include:Sand play areaSplash pad (Summer)ChessPing pongMini butterfly gardenSwingsClimbing activitiesRestroomsPaid Parking
My kids, wife & I really enjoyed the playground, splash area, garden & food venues they had. Well spent money on all the upgrades & amenities the place has to offer for the whole family to enjoy! Its really come a long way since I was just a child. Everything you need from food, drinks, facilities and good music are all in proximity!
What an amazing park! Traveling here from out of town and my family had such a great time in the sand pit and splash pad! All the children in this city were so considerate by notifying all the other children there was a toddler in the area and they all played more carefully.
Great place to take the kids. They have many outdoor activities setup. They have ping pong, a splash pad, and a playground. Remember to take swim gear for the kids if the weather is nice.
Loved it, great place to spend a very quality time with the kids. Lots of activities.
An entertaining park for both adults and children
Took 31 seventh graders here after visiting the Alamo. They loved it! Lots of interactive entertainment.
One of the most diverse parks Ive seen with the variety of climbing and play options for the kids. From giant rope pyramids and snakes, statuary both beautiful and full of grips for various sizes, to giant chess and checkers boards, theres plenty to do. Add in a splash pad and sand put, and the kiddos are covered! Bonus for the adults: a coffee shop with good food and great java, a pizza parlor and even chocolate/candy store, this park is definitely where its at for the summer!
Good fun with family
Really cool playground for kids of all ages. Lots of unique elements to the playground. It definitely can get busy.
Good fun for the kids or even to jus get out n relax
Nice family time had by all!!
The emphasis on accessibility is amazing! I love the parks programming as well. There is always something going on here!
My kids (4 & 2) and I love this place. The playground is more for older kids but they have a few areas for smaller ones. But the splash area is the best! Its big enough to not feel crowded even when there is a lot of people. I even saw parents enjoying an adult beverage from a restaurant right next to the area. They have a sandbox, oversized floor checkers, chess, and decent bathrooms!! A definite go to for my family
If I could rate this park 10 stars I would. I smile Everytime I think of this unique park full of climbing structures and folk art everywhere. I love love love this park. Historical buildings. Trails. Vines. And old cable car. Water foundations. Beautiful
Very cool park. The design was beautiful and very unique. The splash pad was pretty big. My 6 year old had a great time.
Love it. My kids love it. Ping pong table. Foosball table. Water park.
Awesome park. My daughter loved the climbing structures, swings, and the little chair looking thing that spins round and round. It never stopped and got me so dizzy but she kept hopping on and loved it. Said she wants to buy one like it.
This is a very nice public park that my son loves to play at. There is a splash pad open during late spring to late summer. A sandbox area, and plenty of unique play areas. It is located convenient to downtown area along major bus routes. There are a few restaurants on the grounds. Also be sure to come on weekends when more activities and games are available.
Just got back from there. Awesome place to take the kids. Parking can be a little hard to find but other than that it’s a great place. I recommend bringing snacks for the kids because they’re is only restaurants around the place.
A fun place for the family. Lots to do for the children and provides a relaxing for parents too. A close cafe nearby for all your refreshments. Very convenient.
