Awesome place to be if you are looking for a place eto chill and relax. Good for couples, kids, family actually for all age group. Its a very photogenic place. Its very well maintained and they have good number of spots for a good photo session. And you will find good number of people having photo sessions over there. If you want to have a good relaxing walk and Japanese bubble tea do head to the park.

Such a beautiful place you can escape to in the city! It’s free to walk around and they have a cute little cafe that serves amazing drinks! There is a lot of people who come and take photos here so it might be a bit busy when you go on weekends but such a great place nonetheless.

Firstly, it’s FREE! Must visit place in San Antonio. Beautiful and serene place to visit. They have an ambiance of botanical garden with miniatured zen garden arrangements. It has a few trails to walk. They have a cafe inside which serves bubble teas and food. The parking is limited, so would want to look for parking around.

We decided to get away from our house because we had been cooped up due to the Corona Virus. This place was just what the doctor ordered. We walked into another world and soaked in all the beauty. The pond in the tea garden is filled with Koi fish which adds sparkle to this beautiful place. I would highly recommend this place to clear your head. The Japanese Tea Garden is also a beautiful backdrop for wedding photos or photos for any other special occasion.

A great place to bring young kids. Not recommend if youre looking for an actual hiking. Good place for a short visit approximately an hour. Its a bit too much things in a small garden personally. There are many nice spots and views to take pictures. Theres also a bubble tea store but I havent tried it yet; maybe next time lol. The parking in front of the entrance is so competitive, but theres an additional parking thats 2-3 minutes walk. Admission and parking are currently free. Theres also a special trail for handicap but a bit inclined. No bugs experienced during my recent visit.

This place, although small, is absolutely gorgeous. It might not be worth a trip out here if its out of the way because at most, itll only take you 10 minutes to see the entire thing (thats if you take your time). Its very small but very pretty. The waterfall and the bridges are beautiful. I wouldnt recommend the little cafe they have either. The food was bad and expensive. Better to pick up food before or afterwards. Parking and entry is free.

One of the most memorable places in the city is definitely the Japanese tea gardens. Great vantage points, gorgeous scenery and low noise levels. Its a small oasis in the middle of a large city. I didn’t expect this garden to be as amazing as it was. There are fun paths to explore, beautiful plants and flowers, lizards that run around, fish and turtles in the pond, and a pretty waterfall! Very family friendly. There’s free parking — a small lot out front and a bigger lot around back. I would recommend this to anyone visiting San Antonio.

Went on a Sunday afternoon... that may have been our biggest mistake. Parking was a nightmare. Crowded, loud...amazingly loud. Didn’t realize that there were so many steps so it was impossible for my disabled veteran husband to see much and he’s ambulatory. If you’re wheelchair bound this is not the place to come. Jingu cafe had a line around the building so impossible to say if it was any good. Was really hoping for some tea but we left. Thought it would be more like the garden in San Francisco . May have been more enjoyable during the week when all the screaming kids were in school and the tourists had gone home. Would have been nice to have benches under the pagoda to sit and at least try to enjoy that vantage point. Side note...does anyone know what it’s called the Japanese tea garden when the entry clearly says Chinese?

The Tea Garden itself is wonderful but the tea house prices for water are insane! I was purchasing a normal size bottle of water and when he told me the price I initially thought I misheard him. He said it again.....$6.15! WHAT!!?? I told him that is way too expensive and to forget about it. I dont know how anyone would think its reasonable to pay $6.15 for a bottle of water that the company paid 20 cents for. Price gouging at its finest.

Its not well kept. Its not pretty by any means. I dont think theres any thing Japanese about it in any way whatsoever. Please tell me the reason why there are so many five stars! Did I come at the wrong time? Is it because of COVID that its so bad? Does the cafe always sell tea for $10 and not even carry coffee? Only reason why Im not giving it one star is because its an actual physical activity and the more we can get people outside and doing things the better!

One of the treasures of San Antonio but it can get so packed at times. Which is when I really dislike going there. But on those days when it’s not full of people it’s great. Such a gorgeous gem with multiple layers of fascinating history. I noticed not many people have reviewed the Japanese Tea Garden, but all of them are perfect scores. I believe this is a San Antonio Hidden Gem that is a must see if your int town. Of course everyone should see downtown, The Alamo and enjoy the river walk, but if like me you spend a lot of time in San Antonio try to get out and see what else they have to offer. Breckenridge Park is a beautiful place to walk, rent a bike, ride a train or see the zoo. The Japanese Tea Garden is also here, and its free. Te garden is located in an old quarry started in the late 1800s. It was later used for concrete, and the old Kiln is still visible along with some of the buildings used by workers. The garden itself has many levels so its a great place to climb around and see some beautiful scenery. There are areas you can be alone and other areas you can see the whole garden. You may notice as you enter the garden the sign says Chinese Tea Garden. I was very confused by this until I was told the name was changed during World War II to prevent vandalism. Who knew there was so much Texas History outside Downtown San Antonio. Get out and see it.
