I expect more the location is in a shady part of town and also it was hard to find a decent parking spot
We randomly went to the bridge the other day because my husband finally gave in after years of bugging him. It was a nice day out so we were able to stay there for a while to walk around and take pictures. We all had fun and the views were beautiful. I understand why everyone in San Antonio goes there to take pictures all the time. On our way down the stairs we saw there was a rock garden that had colors available for people to contribute to the garden with their own art. I thought it was pretty cool. Some people were very creative coloring the rocks. There was also a mural under the bridge that was pretty cool too. We took two kids with us and both of them had fun too.
I love this place its so nice to chill there but it really needs to get fix asap
The bridge is historic and beautiful. However, you cant get a decent photo if your back is to the South side of the bridge. There is an ugly chain link fence just beyond the bridge barrier but still connected to the bridge. It does not look appealing.
Excellent place to ride a bike and have a drink and a bite to eat
They put up a chain link fence that looks awful, for what? trash cans are overflow with trash very disappointed
Excellent panaramic view of city of San Antone and the immediate area...nice breeze on summer nights while thoughts cascade over the Hays Street Bridge onto and into the atmosphere surrounding this majestic place.
This is one of San Antonios little hidden treasures for the whole family! After we seen many, many pictures everywhere of that old bridge, we set out to find it one night. The views of down town San Antonio in the background are very wonderful. I recommend going before sundown so you can take many beautiful pictures and just enjoy the scenery. You can go by yourself, with friends and or family! I always recommended being with someone when going anywhere. Well go and visit soon.
Wouldnt recommend to any one to go alone...Lots of homeless people and bring your walking shoe cause u are gonna walk up hill and about 300-400 feet before you even get to the top of the bridge...
Lived in SA almost my entire life and have never visited this bridge. One of San Antonios best kept secrets.
Such a sweet spot to go to. Its kinda like a hidden gem of the city, or at least I found out about this place late. Im not a native here, but Im glad I found out about this spot. You can see the sweet city scape of downtown and ever peer towards the Southside. Its a great viewing of the whole city really. Its certainly beautiful! Im glad theyre fixing it up! They even do yoga classes here. You can see the Amtrack passing by, or at least I did. It was pretty cool; and see trains passing by from over heard. Its awesome. Even the Alamo Brewery is beneath. It has lights on the bridge. And its even big enough to remind me a bit like the Santa Monica pier if youd ever been there.... A must go!
First time here and absolutely love it
Had my birthday photoshoot here, the bridge itself is a beautiful monument or say heritage hidden in a blighted area downtown. I tell you its a monument that should be preserved. Thats for sure.
Awesomely refurbished old bridge near downtown San Antonio. The bridge that connected the Eastside to downtown back in the day. Nice view. You will encounter a few homeless people that hangout on the bridge. Dont let that deter you. Go check it out. Youll be glad you did.
Historic monument, and a nice place for downtown sights
It was too opened and there was no table until we got to the brewery
A great place to take photos of the city.
I love this place. Looks like they may be renovating. Fence ruins the view. Best time to come is at night. Only thing is there is a lot of homeless sleeping on and around the bridge
I participated in international day of yoga and really enjoyed myself. Ive attended multiple times and everyone is very warm and inviting. Even with the heat index being extreme the breeze you felt was welcomed and very inviting. I enjoyed myself and will back again.
Every time I am in the San Antonio area I enjoy stopping by Hays Street Bridge. It is always an interesting place to people watch. There is an eclectic and somewhat bohemian crowd of locals at least on the times Ive been (usually late at night). Aside from that, the bridge itself is a great place to take photos and boasts a nice view of the skyline.
This was a very wise decision by the neighborhood and city to preserve this beautiful bridge! I visit several times for personal and professional photography sessions. The view is spectacular! Always worth the walk. Just wished there was more parking available.
One of my favorite spots. Beautiful sky line of the city
Good spot to view the city of San Antonio, take any type of pictuers, and enjoy a sunday walk.
Great views of the city
My favorite spot to go always. The view is beautiful. Watching the sunset from there is just
Awesome view of the downtown fireworks and the neighborhood fireworks going off simultaneously on new years.
Very nice, laid back atmosphere. Live band played below the bridge that night. U can bring lawn chairs.
Loved taking graduation pictures on the bridge.
Our neighborhood pedestrian link to downtown. I ride over it on my bike most days either on my commute or with my son for fun.
Beautiful scenery
Took some pictures for my sister boutique Lovely Amina
Very cool area. Subtle breeze going through rails, just use precaution at night.
Greate location to take picture great view of Down town.
Love taking my son to see the trains pass under the bridge.
Love hanging out here. Youll see locals and tourist alike. Nice views especially at night.
Sweet local spot to let kids run around while you take in views of downtown.
Perfect place to watch the fireworks on New Years Eve.
Love this bridge
Its a peaceful getaway, and the view is beautiful overlooking downtown, tonight there was a live band at the alamo breweryWe enjoyed our evening
Great spot for photography. Took my daughter dressed in her folklorico outfit there to do a photo shoot. She looked amazing with the bridge as her background. Lots of space.
Nice old bridge with good view from it. I think the city will tear down to build condos. Thanks a lot to city manager Skully
Ok it was really nice, took my daughter to go look at the view we heard about so much the only thing was we went like around 9:30 pm there were a lot of homeless people sleeping on the bridge and there was a biker gang riding there bikes on the bridge called the cops they never came but they were throwing trash and bottles at the train passing by, it’s really nice place to catch a view of San Antonio at night but that ruined it the police never came, got me really upset we took these pics and took off hopefully the city does something about it
A real work of art! Amazing for taking photos. Amazing views!
Beautiful views!
Gated off on one side but still a great 180 of town
Great views at night!
Very nice
Awesome spot for photos, yoga and late-night chill. Amazing view of downtown.
Thanks ice jj fish for showing me this gem
Nice bridge built in 1910. Some homeless sleeping on benches and against walls.
Great view of the city especially around sunset
Can remember driving across it years ago as a kid it used to freak me out because it moved.
Very beautiful view
It is a beautiful place the view is awesome. The bad thing is that isTo many homeless people around doing nasty things
Nice bridge to smoke a blunt on a watch the sun set...
Great place to over look downtown at night with all the lights. Grab a milkshake and a chair and enjoy the night view there
Beautiful city view, not too much traffic. A little bit of history, a cool scene with some hidden gems
Awesome place to be
Good view of the city
Great view of the downtown is San Antonio. Great for portrait photos
Pretty views
Beautiful view of the city, day or night!
Even late night its a very chill spot kids were out with family at 11pm to even 12am and a little after very chill spot and the trains passing by made it a very cool experience
Nice views...
I do like this bridge. Its wonderfully refurbished, well thought out, keeping the community in mind. The view of the city from this vanish point is great. There are activities and group classes being offered, or choose to meet here. Bands play at the Alamo Brewery, below, some nights. The atmosphere is sort of electric and mellow at the same time, and is why I like it.
Chill spot, hangout and take a breather
It was clean and it was nice to see the people to help them and the people are sweet and happpy and that they talk to every one
Neat.. wish I couldve drive a car over it
One of our favorite relaxing spots great for pictures over looking down town
Love riding my bike with my friends up on the bridge and hanging out.
Great View
Awesome location for hangout . Very close to downtown. Yoga classes happen here. Good for cycling, walking or just have a quite sunset watch here. Love the vibe.
Very nice
Very relaxing. Great place to be alone and collect your thoughts or to hang with friends
Had a gender reveal celebration. Perfect for photos
Scary needs to be updated
Nice view check it out ..and dont mind the different people ..its safe..all walks of life want to enjoy the view..so just check it out
Avacado fest was ok. Too many guac samples.
Love the city view from this bridge.
Take my wife andrea here on our dates
The bridge is a great zen place to go to.City officials need to realize we do not want the Alamo Brewery let alone ANOTHER LUXURIOUS APARTMENT. Cater to the original locals, put the Eastside Promise Zone money to actual good use, fix the streets, add a public water park or maybe a Technology library!
Really cool spot that has helped revitalize foot traffic in the area. Goes right over Alamo brewing. Great spot for pictures
This bridge was super fun, I went because of a photography challenge and ended up loving it.
Awesome view. Took good pictures with my Baby.
Is a beautiful view until you look around and see the trash that is left up there by the bicyclist and other miscreants
Love hang and smoke up there
Its a nice place to chill
