I took my boyfriend there to try out the escape room and we loved it! Every one was super helpful and the mgr Nita gave us great service. There are no cell phones allowed in the escape room but there are lockers provided free of charge. We even decided to try out the axe throwing too and had a blast! I was even able to take a photo with an axe used by Jason Momoa! I love that the axe throwing is BYOB so it will be a great double date activity or even girls night out! We will be back for sure!

Very cool experience and nice people! Loved it! The guy gave us thorough instructions, easily to understand as to how to properly throw the axe. Obviously in my picture I made a unique throw but I made a regular throw 4 out of 6 times.

Had a great time. Instructor was us feel very comfortable with throwing the axe. Wish they had food to order would be the only complaint.

Went here for a double date on 1 Feb. What a great time! Our group of four was paired up with two other couples. Megan (Baby Got Axe) was an awesome instructor. She gave fantastic instructions and then let our group throw. Over our hour and a half slot, we completed all the games (even a few extra ones) and threw an axe at least 50 times each. Great environment and great fun. I highly recommend Class Axe Throwing.

Bruce was amazing. We had fun the whole entire time. Full of laughs. Definitely recommend this. Nice stress reliever especially during this time.

Son and I went to try it out, absolute blast. Must have been around 30 people there. We were grouped up with 2 other parties and started learning how to throw. Everyone picked it up pretty quickly. Then the games started. Everyone was cheering and enjoying themselves. The hour and a half went by quickly. Guys, girls, everyone had fun. Highly recommend for everyone (guys and girls) 15 and up.

Such a fun experience for a small birthday party! We had a group of 4 and our Axe-Pert was Megan, who made the experience much more enjoyable by teaching us how to properly throw the axe. She was very accomodating and even allowed us to light (accidentally trick) candles on the birthday cake. We had a blast with the mix of games as well, it kept the experience interesting and competitive.

Went with a group of friends and we were required to commingle with complete strangers which was very easy and fun to do.It is not as hard as you might think because of the great teaching from the instructors. Lots of variety in game types but one thing remains the same and thats a bunch of ace throwing.Beanie Guy was my chosen name and this place is highly recommended to couples or groups. Clean and safe environment but no water fountain which can be solved with the BYOB rule. Stay hydrated as it can be quite the workout.

Now this is one of the best places in San Antonio. Staff is friendly and they really are patient with newbies. They take something that sounds like its only for lumberjacks and make it accessible to everyone. Really is only issue is the loud music and the high price. I understand it sets the tone, but they need to turn the music down just a little bit. Besides that, if you want to do something for 1-2hrs, go here.

My wife and I went to Class Axe San Antonio last night and it was a blast! Our instructor, Huge Axeman, was both hilarious and a great teacher. This was our first visit to Class Axe but it wont be our last. The next time we go, itll probably be in the morning (or some off-peak time of day), so hopefully the groups arent so big and we get to spend even more time throwing axes, cuz its seriously tons of fun!

Huge Axeman was the best! He took the time to really teach me how to throw the axe. At first I was frustrated and couldn’t hit the bird, but he took the time to instruct me individually and I started sinking my shots! This was such a fun time and something totally different. I highly recommend Class Axe at Commerce and especially Huge Axeman. Thank you for making our night special!

We went here on Date Night, and it was a lot of fun... but a bit scary. (especially with how accurate she was with chucking an axe!!)We would go back again, but it is definitely a sometimes activity.

Class Axe-San Antonio was AMAZING and so much fun! Our axe-expert, (axe funky, I believe) was nothing short of GREAT! He kept us entertained with fun, competitive games and laughs! The location was very convenient with private parking. BYOB is always a plus as well! Can’t wait to return!

We received a date night Groupon as a gift, and boy was it worth it! Their redemption process went super smooth, the staff was more than accommodating and the enthusiastic atmosphere was contagious! Baby Got Axe (Megan) was full of fun fueled puns to keep the afternoon going. We ended up with unredeemed tickets for our reservation, but were informed that we could save these for another time! Paid about $60 (with a coupon) for 90 minutes of axe throwing for 2 people and probably threw an axe for a total of 10 minutes. They have 8 lanes and only used 4 lanes. They force you to play group games with people you don’t know and break up the group of people you came with. No actual coaching occurred, you only learn one type of throw. Definitely feel like I wasted my money. Really wish they would have put that on the website. I cant imagine how expensive 6 pieces of wood is for them to allow private lanes like I thought I paid for. And they started about 10 minutes late and they ended it 4 minutes early. Parking isnt free.

Class Axe Throwing is a great way to have fun as a family or to meet new people! The instructors are very helpful, and they make things fun. The games are designed to be fun, even if you are not very good. Be sure to bring your own beer.

My husband and I went today on our anniversary date and it was SO much fun!!! The ladies (axe professionals) were awesome and super funny. Dont wear a sun dress but do wear cool clothing because theres no AC. Awesome experience!

I was pretty confident, going in, that this was going to be great. But, they exceeded my expectations. Drinking beer and throwing axes is a pretty simple formula for a guaranteed good time. But, it was THE STAFF that made this a great experience. They did a great job of leading the games and being there to help, while still backing off enough to allow us to have our own good time. We will absolutely be back.

So much fun!! A great date night or group activity. Two reasons I didnt give it 5 stars: 1) The beginning was a little unorganized, which delayed our start time and 2) Its pretty pricey. Definitely more expensive than it needs to be. I had a great time, but I doubt Ill go again unless they lower the price or run a special.

My family had such an amazing time! Never thrown as axe before in my life and felt like a pro after one hour! Absolutely recommend both the shop and it’s staff. Safety was their number one priority and I felt completely comfortable having my teenage son participate as well! Five stars well deserved!

Boss Axe Beech our instructor was badass and showed us what to do and how to do it properly and gave tips on what needed fixed to be effective! I might be terrible at axe throwing but Blaine, (otherwise known as Blaine Against the Grain) made the experience an amazing one with super fun puns and a healthy sense of competition. This place is amazing for turning a dull night into a new experience.

I paid for a 90 minute session with my boyfriend for his birthday. We arrived last night 15 minutes early (as instructed) to complete chaos- everyone seemed confused on where to check in, teens were running around knocking chairs and people over, and there was little space to stand. After figuring out where to check in, we waited in line as the group in front of us signed the safety waiver. Instead of asking the group to kindly scoot over so we could keep the line moving, the check in attendant made a “shoo motion” and said “Shoo, move.” We checked in and waited for our session to start. After 10 minutes of waiting (10 minutes past our scheduled session), we realized that the 4 lanes were all taken by large corporate groups and birthday parties so we would have no where to play aka gonna be waiting a long time. Everyone looked confused and uncomfortable. The staff were rude,unwelcoming and clearly hated their jobs. No one ever instructed us what to do, where to start our session, or if we were actually gonna throw axes, etc. so feeling frustrated and undervalued as customers, we left. Im never going back and it was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life.

Took my fiance at 2pm the Saturday after Valentines Day to have an out of the ordinary day date. Ended up inviting three other friends and we all enjoyed it. We shared a lane with another party of three. Well be going again, likely later in the evening!Also, we used a Groupon. Worth checking there for a little discount.

Cool thing to do for a group of people.The instructions are a little more laid back that you would think for throwing sharp objects but theyre at your own risk. Harder to make it sick than it looks. Not real sofisticated... Plywood and paint. Shares space with escape room traffic. BYOB is cool.

We came from out of town, not being familiar with the area we arrived late. The staff was super accommodating with going over the instructions again. It was my first time axe throwing and had lots of fun. It is a definite must try!

They obviously book as many people as possible to turn a profit at the expense of the customer experience. Don’t go here if you are not in a large group. Never mind just don’t go here at all...

An Axe Load of Fun -A little tricky to find the place but our instructor called us to make sure wed make it ok. It was surprisingly easy to pick up axe throwing (at least enough to stick to the board, I guess the aiming comes later) made for a great first experience, and our whole group wants to go again soon.

Staff was great. But locating this in an old warehouse with no AC made our visit short. Fans blowing hot air isn’t a substitute for AC unfortunately.

I normally dont ever leave reviews, so know that Im extremely frustrated when I write this. My friends and I drove from New Braunfels to come enjoy a fun evening of axe throwing only to find that the signage to find the place is awful, the door was locked, and no one was answering the four phone calls that I tried. I arrived right at 6pm, as posted on the website, which also said that there were plenty of openings for that time. I knocked several times and no one answered. Needless to say, I wont be returning, because I couldnt even get in the first time.

Defiantly will never visit again. Instructions very clearly said to get there at 7:45 lessons and throwingbstarts at 8. We waited around until 8:15/8:20 until EVERYONE who signed up to throw at 8 arrived and then started the instructions. Didn’t start throwing until 8:30. There were only 3 bays available and over 30 people there. My wife and I were on a date night and had to join two different parties to throw. Throwing stopped promptly at 9:30, so out of our 90 minute time we got to throw an hour. Very unorganized, and a rip off if you ask me. The axe throwing is fun, but you’ll see me at Stumpy’s next time. Definitely NEVER coming back here.

We went to throw axes when I was on vacation last week and had a great time. We were just looking for something different to do that came across Class Axe Throwing. The staff is friendly and nice. The axe ranges looked great. I was really impressed.

Axe throwing was fun and my party had a great time . but the place was absolutely impossible to get ahold of. It took weeks to finally speak to somebody from the company and it was somebody over chat even after 3 voice mails and two emails. when some of the people in our party canceled they refused us a refund on the second lane that we didn’t need anymore. When my party arrived the instructor didn’t even know we were coming nor did he know we had purchased two lanes, he then cut our time short by 30 minutes because he again didn’t know we had purchased two hours, I had to mention to him how much time we had paid for and by then we only had 15 minutes left to just toss a few more thows..

It was a bit unorganized getting checked in and then having to drive to another location for the actual axe throwing site, only to show up and there only be one instructor. We (my husband and I) were paired up with a really nice family, but were pretty much left to our own devices after the initial run through. I think if there were more instructors/assistance it would have been more competitive/accurate games, for people that have never done this before. Also everytime someone walked in late-shed have to start the instruction over again, this could be avoided with more help in staff. It was pretty hot, even with the fans-but the fun (and wine) made up for it. My husband really liked it-

Im not going to lie I was a little skeptical when I first got invited to go here, but it was so much fun! I will be recommending this to everyone I know. It was way more fun than I expected and Bad Axe Beech our axepert was awesome and so helpful. If youre looking for an activity that a little different that will let you get up and move and even relax with a few beers (yeah its byob) then this needs to be your next weekend stop.
