Our wedding at Chase Mill in Tracy Aviary was perfect! The planning process with the staff was professional and easy. We worked together to make it the best possible (small) event within health dept. (covid) guidelines--the gardens and grounds were lovely and the patios, lawn, and amphitheater at the Mill are great spaces. In fact, it was so nice we think they should charge more! October is beautiful at the Aviary. Whether its a short visit or a major life changing event-- just go. (fabulous orange velvet suit jacket optional.)
I love this little gem. The facilities are well maintained. Staff are super friendly. All exhibits are easily accessible. They are taking necessary and appropriate measures to protect all, staff and visitors, during this Covid situation. I felt safe. I loved visiting today. My son loved it as well. We will be back.
Great for the kids, not crowded. I loved that even though they are not doing outside shows in the cold weather they still had some staff walking around with some off the birds. Great experience overall.
Really a fun little spot. Great presentation by an employee with one of the parrots (Rembrandt?) Im sure it is even more beautiful in the warmer weather when the plantings are more lush and flowers are blooming.
We had our wedding here earlier this month, and it was a dream. The grounds are lovely, Chase Mill was so rustic and full of history, and the process was so effortless it really made our wedding planning a pleasant experience. We had another venue reserved, but due to events outside of our control (not covid related) they canceled our event a month before and we were left without a venue. After some research, we settled on Tracy, and we are so glad we did. We are especially grateful to Gabriel, their event coordinator - he was very professional, courteous, and helpful in every aspect. He went above and beyond for us. We will be lifelong members of the Aviary!PS. They have wandering peacocks, they made many appearances at our wedding and our guests loved them!
To me its better than the zoo. I dont feel guilty going there because the birds are not able to survive in the wild due to their limitations. Its peaceful. Love it!
A little expensive, but overall clean and bigger than you think. As you expect, done staff are nicer than others and add or takeaway from the experience. Didnt realize some of the birds wouldnt be out, definitely harder in colder months to make your money. Average experience as around. Restrooms clearly marked. Masks required. Easy parking. Parks for kids are now open to play on.
Fun place to bring your family or just go on a date! So much to see! The shows they have are wonderful! My husband volunteered to participate and was selected! You had to see the joy in his eyes when the toucan bounced on his hands!
This place is incredible!!!! It’s a little over 10 dollars for admission per adult. If I lived here, I would consider becoming a member. It seems like a nice place to just relax, too. It’s decent sized, and on a Sunday afternoon around 2PM, was surprisingly not crowded. My favorite birds were definitely the keas!
Loved this place! My 3 yr old loved seeing all the birds!! They had directional arrows to follow to keep everyone from bumping into one another due to Covid restrictions but it amazing!!
I was just passing through, my wife and I were looking for something local to do, something relaxing. And this was perfect! This place is cool! Its not huge so, easily a few hours is all you need.
Super fun and reasonably priced. A great place to do during the pandemic. They do a great job of enforcing social distancing. And who does not love birds; small birds, medium birds and really really Big Birds!
Had an excellent time walking around and seeing the birds. Very easy to stay socially distant and outside, my son loved it. Coffee from their cafe was delicious.
This place was way more interesting than I thought it would be! The highlight was the Toucans and the King Vultures. Such amazing creatures! If you like birds, this place is definitely the place for you. It has a very open environment and is a very peaceful place.
A great variety of birds and educational opportunities. But just as good if you have kids are the grass and play spaces for picnicing or running around. This is why I prefer the Aviary over the zoo. Also never too crowded. Reasonable price for memberships.
I hadnt been since the upgrade. It was very nice. Staff was great too. Very clean and extremely peaceful.
Fun for kids of all ages. Clean and well cared for.Loved the birds, the habitats, the trails, and even the cute Halloween decor! The neighboring playground is also top-notch!
Love this place! Great selection of birds, clean and easy layout when it comes to navigating the park.Sadly there is still damage from the recent winds but good to see things are still up and running smoothly.
I love how the birds are always active. The staff is nice and very informative
We had a blast! We had Gabe as our tour guide for the day he was an amazing individual to talk and joke with and he is very knowledgeable about all the animals there.
Worth the $12 for a lovely day. It was clean, staff was so nice, and helpful. The Cafe food was good. I will definitely come back. Grandparents... take your grandkids. What a great day and Dole Whip at the end.
I loved Tracy Aviary. If you enjoy birds, this facility is for you. They have a large and varied group of avians. The owl forest sports several species, and theres a hawk as well. Many of the birds are from Africa, including some species I didnt know existed despite growing up watching nature shows.Theres decent shade near most of the habitats and clean bathrooms. Its a great place to visit.
Beautiful. Great place for most any occasion. Leisurely walk through well maintained gardens and foul areas and enclosures. Great place for kids or a unique date. They also have space to rent for events.
Such a beautiful exhibit. The staff is kind and professional. The bird show is amazing and the facility is extremely clean and well kept. Also, the cafe with Dole whip is delicious. I can’t wait to go back!
Visiting during this difficult time in Urah, the aviary has many family friendly exhibits and lovely birds. Peaceful and colorful.
This park is home to many feathered friends. It is very child friendly and educational. There are also interactive bird shows. It seems all the birds are healthy and happy. A small area was closed off for what seemed a wedding reception. I think you can even have birthday parties here.
Wow! We absolutely loved this place! Great bird show! They had tons of really cool birds from owls and flamingos to parrots and crows. The staff is really knowledgeable and were really friendly and willing to answer all of our questions. It was not enough that it took us a couple of hours to get to everything, but it was completely worth every penny. We didnt do any of the extra things you have to pay for, but it was tempting. Getting to see the birds up so close was the highlight. We also got to see them feeding them as we walked around. There were ducks everywhere just hanging out. Id say about half of it was completely open, as in no cages. Apparently many of the birds there were wounded so theyve rehabilitated them, but they cant fly away. Really cool experience for anyone!
Even with Covid, its an amazing place to visit and take the kids! My family felt completely safe and enjoyed our whole visit! The only thing I would say is I wish they had more mister fans, as it was extremely hot. Otherwise, it was a super time!
My daughter and I love coming here when we are in Liberty Park and often get lunch at the Cafe. She loves the flamingos and I like the parrots
We really enjoyed the afternoon roaming the gardens and aviaries. The opportunity to see birds from around the world and learn habitats and conservation status was great.
Honestly one of the cleanest, most well-kept places I’ve ever been. The staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. For a seemingly small place, there were plenty of exhibits and displays. They had an interactive bird show is a very cozy room that made it much more interpersonal. The prices were very decent for what kind of facility we got to tour. It is clear that they take pride in the facilities and take excellent care of the birds. It wasn’t overcrowded, and walking around wasn’t too tiring for us or the kiddos.Highly recommend for families, or individuals interested in birds at all.
My wife and I had a really fun time visiting the aviary! Weve actually been a few times now and have thoroughly enjoyed seeing and learning about the different species of birds kept there. Its also exciting to learn about their breeding programs and other local wildlife that visits the aviary. Admission prices are very reasonable so its not a cost-prohibitive activity for families. While there, you can feed the ducks and for an extra price, you can feed fish to the pelicans. Aside from the birds, the is a Cafe inside the aviary so you can grab a snack.
Everything here was amazing. Great price considering the upkeep needed to maintain these birds and educate the public. Would absolutely go again.
Terrific fun! You can get so close to the birds. The live shows dont cost anything extra and get you right up close to the birds. Its like having a miniature zoo in your backyard!
Super fun! Lots of different birds to see, great bird show, and nice activity for the family. We were able to feed the ducks and play in different areas. Interactive stations for learning, enjoyable place to go.
You can get up close to a bunch of the birds. We go often enough to see the different bird personalities. The grounds are absolutely beautiful as well. You can see everything there in about 90 minutes.
Amazing place. Not at all overpriced like most places like this. They take really good care of the property.
I havent been here for 20 years, and it looks so good! Theyve really fixed the place up! We had a great time! The food at the little cafe is yummy and actually healthy, as well as decently priced.
We had such a wonderful time here!! We took my mother in law to visit this place. She was here from out of town. It was so peaceful and lush and green! The birds were interactive and beautiful! Peacocks were roaming free and friendly! There were astounding birds I had never heard of!!The park was clean and well maintained. There was a lovely play place with a little slide and fun seat-hammocks to relax in.There was a lake with amazing ducks Id never seen before.I felt the pricing was fair. They offer a senior and military discount as well.
My favorite place in Salt Lake! It takes about an hour to see everything. There are so many birds and they are active and visible.
Super cool and this place has really grown into a very nice aviary compared to what it was 25 years ago. I took my little niece and nephew to the aviary and they had a absolute blast. Way rad!
It was outstanding! The birds were beautiful and you could tell they were well taken care of!I loved being able to walk through the aviary and get up close with some of the birds. We were able to get a lot of pictures! It was so cool to see the peacocks just roaming freely throughout the aviary! The kids really enjoyed seeing them you so close!Im so happy we found this place and we were able to go! I also bought a picture that one of the macaws painted! I was completely impressed with the entire experience!
This place is great! Ive never seen some of the birds showcased here before or some it has been a while since I have seen. It was really educational and the little food house was awesome too. Really delicious. Its quite big so expect to spend a couple of hours here. Every time I thought I was coming to the end I would find another road to check out. Even though it was awesome, Im kind of disappointed on how big the places were where some of the birds were kept; didnt seem right to me :/. Especially when Ive seen some of them out in the wild and know they could do with a little more room.
Pretty neat place! We decided to chance it even though it was trying to rain on us at first - totally worth it. There were some birds missing from their outside enclosures, but overall it seemed like we saw most everything.
Wonderful place to stroll and learn about the birds. Great for kids.
Beautiful gem in SLC. Really an incredible collection of birds. Go early to bird show due to Covid spacing requirements.
Has many exotic birds from all over the world would recommend
Fun place to go and have a relaxing day watching very cool birds!
I love bringing my daughter to walk around and check out the birds. I love about an hour and a half away from this place so I like to get her a little exercise before we’re stuck in the car. We love the birds and make sure you bring change to feed the birds.
I had a really fun time. They have many birds roaming around free. A huge variety of birds from all areas of the world. And right now the pink flamingos are here. A lot of fun.
This place is so peaceful and relaxing! We bought the year long membership and are excited to go back for more, and were not even that big into birds. Its cool to hear all the sounds, relax in the shade, and see all the beautiful birds.
Had a wedding here. You know that your boy was lighting up the dance floor. The birds were also pretty dope
This was really relaxing! People are thoughtful by wearing there masks and keeping up with social distancing! The birds were out being noisy, we were there about 45 minutes! Loved every minute!
Beautiful Aviary! From Andy the Condor, parrots, and other exotics to native owls, ducks, geese this is a must see destination at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City. Our party was 8 months to 69 years, each one had a great time! And we all are at the outdoor cafe. Delicious and the prices were reasonable, too. Cant wait to come visit again.
What a surprise! We had an absolutely great visit! There was a ton to see. My friends and I visited as a short visit before our flight. We were able to see most of it in a couple of hours. Definitely suggest visiting!
Excellent aviary. My family has enjoyed it very much. Staff are always courteous, helpful and safe.
We especially enjoyed the 11 a.m. bird show. Excellent!
It was alot of fun and the bird show was great and interactive. They followed social distancing rules and all around things looked sanitized and cleanly. I would definitely go back.
Tracy aviary is a safe haven for the soul. So many birds to admire. Tracy Aviary has a large variety of diffrent climate sections the two more tropical ones are the most unique. At 12:30 everyday a simulated rain storm happens for the tropical birds and all of the birds come out to shower. Mind you a handful of exhibits you are actually free standing in the habitat with the birds, a unique experience compared to what most zoos have. I do recomend especially if youre tired of winter, you can enjoy warm humid climate with the tropic birds.
I went on a field trip with my son today and had a fun time there! The show was really cool and interactive. Tracy Aviary had changed so much, in a good way!
This place is complete tranquility. I love it!! Very beautiful and the birds are all very well taken care of. Some Roam freely on the property. The peacocks are my favorite ️. I highly recommend Tracy Aviary
Winter prices make it so well worth it to go. Everything is clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful.
A wonderful opportunity to see a reasonable variety of birds from all around the world. Such colors!
Very clean. Family friendly. Love the bird show.
Great place to spend an hour or two. If your a scout ask how you can earn your badge
This aviary and botanical gardens is very well managed and doing their best to enforce guidelines and best practices during the pandemic to keep staff and guests safe. This aviary is AZA accredited which means that all animal participation in husbandry, exhibits, and shows is 100% voluntary, and many of the birds in the care of Tracy Aviary have a much longer longevity due to the excellent care they receive by the experts at the aviary. The staff is also super-friendly and the keepers seem genuinely happy to answer questions about the various species on exhibit and featured in the birdshows at the aviary as well as what is known about those species in the wild, too. They also operate very transparently and happily field questions from guests about aviary operations and how they maintain the safety and optimum health of the birds. Its a fascinating place to visit and the management has done a really great job designing the aviary and botanical gardens with the little space they have inside Liberty Park. The groundskeepers also do a magnificent job at keeping the trees, bushes, grasses, and pathways beautifully hedged, trimmed, healthy, and well-maintained.
Family friendly. Staff was very helpful. People had masks on and kept distance. Great experience.
My husband and I had so much fun walking around and seeing all of the cool birds! We went on a Friday evening and it was not crowded at all! The birds seemed very well taken care of and healthy. We even got to see a baby flamingo! Overall a beautiful place
This was a fun place to visit with the kids. There are some truly spectacular birds. The bird show is well worth it. The schedule listed on the website is not totally accurate.
The work that they have done is amazing. My 4 year old daughter and 1 year old son enjoyed being able to see all of the birds. We are excited to go back after they are able to open all of the interactive exhibits and playgrounds.
We have been here for a 1st time and we loved it. Such an amazing place. We love section dedicated to owls. And i appreciate also beautiful gardens with pretty flowers, small streams. Really recommend this place when you will be in Salt lake city.
Very peaceful sanctuary for some beautiful fowl.
Its a clean, well kept zoo/conservatory for birds. You all those times you go to the zoo and you can never actually see the animals in the exhibit? Well that wasnt so much the case with the Aviary. We got to see plenty of beautiful birds and read all sorts of facts about them. The park is laid out well and the staff was friendly.
Such a variety of birds! Lots of fun for my family. The animals are well taken care of.
The bird show us the cutest and the 2 females who ran the show were great. It was our first time going and the kids loved it. Thank you Tracy Aviary
Absolutely amazing place. Loving staff as evidenced by the wonderful care and cleanliness of the aviary. Friendly and professional staff as well. Loved the Pink Ladies!
Oh my gosh!!! It was so cool! We took the whole family and it was so cool. Check out there shows at 1 pm so informative
We had an amazing time and learned so much. Had a guided tour with a Birthday party and the guide was very knowledgeable. My family cant wait to go back again!
Its a beautiful place to visit. We wanted to buy a sandwich and drink, we were told they dont serve sandwiches anymore so we ordered lemonade it took 25 minutes to get 2 lemonade drinks. The Eagles are georgious as well as the vultures and owls.
Always a great place to visit
It is easily accessible, next to liberty Park. Great for both kids and adults. Saw a lot of rare birds up close. Most entertaining part was peacock when it danced with its feathers open! Aviary is maintained very well. It is not too big for you to get tired. Kids will for sure have a gala time.
Great place to see some beautiful bird species up close!
Very cute place in the middle of the city. Well organized. Too bad that playgrounds are closed due to covid, they look like a blast for kids
Fun place to take the kids during covid 19. Even funner when theres no pandemic.
I love this place! I used to live by it and whenever I come by the area I like to go there.
I did not know about this place but now I do I will be returning. They need more than one Ice Cream shop thought and I also think the entrance fee is a bit high but a great place to take the family other than the zoo.
Beautiful aviary. Birds are kept very well and are entertained. Staff takes out birds and introduces them to the visitors. When in SLC and you have some time, definitely visit.
Beautiful. Good place to walk. Small enchanted gardens, relaxing.
Great experience and learning opportunity. All of the birds are divided up based on the part of the world they reside which is neat and the sheer number of birds they have is awesome I was expecting it to be alot smaller. Great place to spend an afternoon in awe.
The birds were out and active today. Not too busy so it was activity for outside and able to distance from other people.
Nice gem to visit on a weekend.. Its not a big park.. But has activities to keep kids occupied for half a day. We enjoyed couple of their shows... And peacocks roaming on the walkway was a bonus. It has a wide variety of birds from different regions. Parking is easy n they have a small cafe to eat.
Loved going. The guy letting us in was a bit strange with a dog collar and leather shiny skirt. But we loved the personality of those birds. I love being able to donate to a cause when I go in too. It makes me feel good doing good for these great animals. Lots of laughs silly birds
Really amazing! WAY more than I expected. So happy with our visit today, especially when everything else was closed. 4 year old had a ball!!
A surprisingly varied bird zoo. Enclosures look well maintained, and configured so its easy to view the birds. Expect to spend at least an hour or two to see everything. Great place to take toddlers and kids, tweens and teens. There is a small Cafe on the west side, dont waste your money ($3.25 for a Dixie cup size Dole whip as of 7/27/20). I remember there used to be bird shows, but those have probably been put on hold because of Covid (stupid Covid). Quite a few areas to just sit and relax and enjoy nature around you. A nice activity!
This was our first time at Tracy Aviary. It is clean, well organized and lots of fun. There were so many different species of birds to see with informative signage and volunteers and employees on-site to offer additional information and assistance.
Great interpretive displays with a focus on conservation and unique adaptations. A wonderful variety of birds to explore and other fun photo ops, too. It was such a treat to see nesting flamingos and free-roaming peacocks!
Spent the afternoon with my grandson on his 4th birthday, per his request! A wonderful experience. He picked out the wings from the giftshop. He had a ball comparing them with all the different birds we encountered. I so love my yearly membership at the Tracy Aviary it buys memories and experiences that last a lifetime.
Really nice aviary with a variety of birds. A good half day activity.
Dont hesitate, just GO!!! If you like birds, wildlife, or conservation this is the place for you. Theyve got lots of cool exhibits with birds from all over the world and great, educational kids programs. Located in Liberty Park so its near other cool things too.
