Stunning architecture. Beautiful grounds. This is a great place to enjoy a picnic or do any out door activities that one would use a large field. This is also a great setting to take photos whether it be a family visiting taking random photos capturing their touristic endeavors or a professional shoot for any photographic need.

It is remarkable how much the Capitol building looks like the White House! There is an immense amount of detail both inside and out that make for a beautiful and memorable experience. Regardless of the number of times I visit Salt Lake City, I am certain to add the capitol building to my agenda. I could spend hours here exploring and taking photographs.

I’ve been in Utah 2 years now but never to the Capitol Building. Went today and loved it. The views, architecture, and Christmas tree were stunning. A bit freezing but we did peak at some of the grounds and can’t wait to come back in warmer weather. The rotunda area was incredible. There were no tours but we wandered around with the self guided tour and did just fine. Parking was convenient, just be prepared to get a lot of steps in!

Amazing architecture! If youre a history buff you will love this gem. While we were at the Capitol there was an exhibit about the meeting of the railroads and it was a real treat. We were able to see the bill that Abraham Lincoln signed in the Pacific Railway Act of 1862. To actually see a document that was signed by Lincoln was a heartfelt experience for me.The architecture is stunning. So much so that there were 5 brides having their wedding pictures taken as well as some college students capturing pictures of a costume they had designed and created.A very picturesque piece of both Utahs and Americas proud heritage. Loved it! ️

We went on a school field trip. We happened to be fortunate enough to be there the day of the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike. Fifteen minutes after we arrived three Blackhawk helicopters arrived carrying the governor, the lt. governor, Senator Mitt Romney, and various dignitaries dressed in period clothing. We got to watch from the capitol steps. We then toured the rest of the building as our docent (tour guide) explained how making laws worked and what each room was for and the architecture behind it. The children recieved a small gift bag at the end with two stickers and a 2019 penny. The next day at school they received a pin and thank you from our districts representatives.

The Utah State Capitol building is the house of government for the U.S. state of Utah. The Neoclassical revival, Corinthian style building was designed by architect Richard K.A. Kletting, and built between 1912 and 1916. One of the largest projects during the renovation was the addition of a base isolation system which will allow the building to survive as much as a 7.3 magnitude earthquake. The main doors are made out metal, which gives it a heavy weight. Inside the building is for statues which represents Immigration and settlements, land and community, science and technology, and arts and education. The roof has many painting that seems religious.

The Capitol Building is a great place to visit inside or out. The grounds are well maintained and the blossoms on the trees are gorgeous in the springtime. The outside is a pleasant and serene place to walk, jog, or just relax. The inside, I believe, requires a guided tour which one must set up but Im not positive on the details as I went on a tour with my sons 5th grade class. It was very informative and educational for both of us.
