There are great views of the mountains from this park. Love being here for a walk first thing in the morning and seeing those mountains just made my day

Game there only takes an hour to finish. But still really fun and pretty maintained.

The park is quite disheveled and messy, but it does the job as a park. While the safety is questionable, I think that it is perfectly safe during the day, as long as you dont mind the gang graffiti, overgrown trails, littered pathways and an all round unkempt conditions.I dont mind it and also due to the fact that this is really the only large park in my area, which is why I visit it twice a week.

Large park, dog friendly except for lawns and playgrounds. Seemed a bit rundown but maybe just because of Covid and there hasnt been any rain. Has a new dog play area for off leash.

Good place to tske a walk or run. There are some decent sized hills to workout on. Also has a frisbee golf course and a skate park.

HORRIBLE!!! Today, my two friends and I went out on our usual 10k run in the morning. We always leave our water bottles on a bench. After finishing our run we return to the bench and our waters were stolen. Keep in mind that THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME!! I do not get why people take what is not theirs. The AUDACITY of some people.

Its great to have gatherings just not a great place when the sun starts to set. Had a friend get called out by some middle schoolers at the skate parke. He told them to calm down as he had kids but again not always like this plus I enjoy the dog park addition.

Great place to take your dog! I go here almost everyday. Gated area for small and medium/ large dogs. They have poop bags already there for people if you do not have them. Great place I love it

Good place to Walk on a very nice neighborhood.

The addition of the dog park makes it a great option for people who want to take their furry friends. I like the mini trails and theres a theater stage in the park too.

It was really nice and peaceful. Bathrooms were not so great. Its a wonderful park but if you want to go to the restroom then i suggest going somewhere else.

This park is located in East Salinas, it CAN be a nice park for family BBQ, picnics and parties for any occasion. There is a play ground, skate park, tennis courts, dog park and 18 basket Disc Golf course all conveniently near by.

This is a fun park. There are two dog parks. One for smaller dogs and one for larger dogs. They both have water troughs for your pooch but shade is scarce and your fido will soon be looking for relief.The playground is fun for the kids.There is a large grassy area for field sports.Theres a gazebo for parties.Theres a footpath.

Only dog friendly park I know in Salinas. I train with my K9 partner here.

A large, popular park with a lot of distinct areas.There is a public restroom. I didnt use it, so Im not sure about the condition.The dog park is divided into two fenced areas: one area for small dogs and one for medium and large dogs.There are tennis courts and basketball courts. A large field for soccer or picnics. A skate park. There is a sandy playground with swings, play structures, and slides.There are walking trails throughout the park.Plenty of Pokestops (7? Ill recount next time I go) and two Pokemon gyms if you do Pokemon Go.I went with a three-year-old during the day on a Thursday and felt safe and he enjoyed himself. Ill be back.I cant vouch for the park at night yet.

The City of Salinas and the surrounding community need to seriously look into a clean up program for this park (and others). It is sad that so much tax dollars and grants were used on this beautiful park to see it in such decline over the past 5+ years. It could be so much better but somehow the community feels compelled to not care. There is litter everywhere (kids play area, grass, creek, amphitheater, etc.). Aging infrastructure with no signs of maintenance (rust, squeaking hinges and swings, sharp edges on playground, etc.) . It is sad! Do a better job (City of Salinas) of protecting your investments and spend some community service hours and maintenance dollars in maintaining the parks.

Its relaxing and really calm for late walks.

Did you know that if you arrive while the country store at Lantermans Mill is still open you can walk into a door and take steps down into the basement and watch the grist (large wheel moving the water down stream) just a few feet in front of you? Its a small door to the left of the check out counter that shows admission fee (Only $1) to walk inside. We arrived 15min before closing time and they let us in free of charge. We never knew you could go inside! Very cool. See pics. Trails are beautiful this time of year. So picturesque and someone is always taking pictures of themselves at the covered bridge. Selfies, groupies, you name it! There is also a wetlands up the road from the mill, I noticed.

My experience: Lots of creepy dudes in the bushes, I feel unsafe along the trails. Dog park sucks, its like the yard in prison. Only wood chips and sticks. A lot of irresponaible pet owners who lack even the most basic ettiquite and knowledge of their animals bad behavior. Tons of young children (0-4yrs) in the big dog area that are unsupervised. Dangerous for both dog and child. I do not recommend going here after noon.

Trash has been removed, but overgrowth of dead, dry plants creates a new fire hazard. A fire will happen this summer if it is not cleared.

Lots of open space. Its actually the good side of salinas.

Its nice that they have separate areas for big and small dogs. They use wood chips so its not muddy or dirty, but that means theres also no grass. Plenty of places to barbecue or picnic. The bathrooms are okay; theyre not terrible.

Huge park with tons of space for activities as well as alot of seating throughout. One thing I didnt like is there seems to have been spaces with information that are no longer there. Id have loved to learn something new. Regardless it has 3 parking areas that I saw while adventuring.

Pretty great place for celebrations, but you have to really wake up early in the morning during celebration days because all the tables get booked.

Update this park is not open its closed 24 hours a day 7 days a week. In the past I would bring my dog here regularly. The facility is kept clean in great condition. Wish more small dogs would come to play here. The mulch isnt quite as fun for the dogs as green grass, but the cost savings are understandable.

A one stop shopping center. Im lucky enough to live close by. Im able to do my grocery shopping, pick up medication, get nails done, handle any banking, and choose where to eat, etc.

Would be a great park if the wood chips were taken out. As it is my dogs dont really like walking around in there. Huge park though with benches and water fountains for the dogs and humans. Just wish it had grass instead of whatever comes out of the wood chipper, and some shade might be nice.

Quiet little neighborhood tucked in the outskirts of Salinas. Very nice area

There is a park with monkey bars, slides and bridges that the kids can use, but not too big. There is a large field right next to the playground where people sometimes play soccer. Next to the field is a Kiosk like building with tables and benches. There are pathways where one can walk along a small creek. The park also has a Disk Golf Course that was added a couple years ago.

Too many people in the way on the disc golf course. Just hanging out on the course looks like drug deals are going down constantly out there.

It would be a great park if it were just regularly maintained. The area is constantly overgrown with shrubs and weeds. The dirt bike area is great to run Off road RC cars or MT bikes however, again this place tends to be overgrown with weeds most of the time. On the other side of Freedom, the dense overgrowth seems to attract very sketchy people. Easy place for people to hide.

This park has really downgraded over the years so much poison oak all around im afraid to have my son play here

I live close and am very thankful for this park. It has walking/bike trails, slides and swings for kids, a large area where they play soccer a lot, many picnic tables with BBQs built in, basketball and volleyball courts, a skate park, fenced area for dogs, and a disc golf course.

Yeah this is a wonderful place to walk, run, play football, basketball, to take care of the dogs, to make carne azada, there is so many trees good parking lot, actually this is a excellent place so dont miss!!

The park is nice but the sandbox at the playground is a disaster area, its just filled with trash.

The city of Salinas should probably clean this place up

Nice park. We take our dog to the dog park there. We love it and our dog loves it.

Plenty of space for our kids to roam and play and trees for shade and climbing. Had a pleasant time shooting hoops on the spacious courts and we plan to return for some play in the volleyball sand court.

Huge park, special if you like running, ridding bike, and any field sports. They have lots of field space

Great place to bring your dog and enjoy the weather, some owners dont mind how dogs get along as long as theres no aggression between their playing but some people act too good to be around here just enjoy your day and let your dog play
