Worth a stop if you are in the area! The beginning of the museum starts with multiple eyewitness accounts of the Roswell UFO incident, several which contradict each other or dont really fit but I guess thats what you get with individual stories. The rest of the museum is a little random with some well made displays and others not so well made... its lacking a bit of the museum quality displays but is still interesting and admission is only $5. You are temperature screened before you enter. They should have an abduction scene for instagram...

Ive wanted to visit this place since I was a kid! It definitely didnt disappoint. There is so much knowledge, and unknown tid bits of information to soak up, it was overwhelming at first. Once you settle in its a roller coaster of proof that we arent alone. If you have any desire to form your own opinion I HIGHLY recommend you go! There isnt anything like this anywhere else The gift shop was full of amazing alien paraphernalia as expected The facility was very clean and organized and they took temperatures at the door to ensure over-all health and wellness. 10 out of 10 for sure. I will be back.

Very cute museum with lots of interesting information. If you like to read all the plaques I would suggest to block off 1-3 hours (depending on how quickly you read and if you read EVERYTHING) as there is LOTS of information posted. If your the type that likes to wander and mainly look at the exhibits and maybe browse the gift shop then 30 min will probably be enough time.It is not a large museum but the exhibits are well done, you can tell they take pride in presenting the information. Also had a cute gift shop with all things alien. Definitely worth the $5 admission if you find yourself in the area.It is right downtown and there are many touristy stores with alien stuff in very close proximity so if you enjoy that kind of thing allow some time to stroll the downtown streets of this small, well known town.

For someone who hasnt looked up much about the infamous 1947 alien crash near Roswell NM, I was pleasantly surprised to find so much juicy and invigorating facts and testimonies from eye witnesses. Every exhibit presents a glorious wonder and exciting experience for the skeptical and non believers to take a second look. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and they take safe and necessary precautions for covid 19. No touch thermal scan is amazing! I highly recommend to anyone who loves to read and explore new and interesting reads!

Ive been here a few times... Wants to check out the museum, twice more subsequent times to visit the gift shop and get some fridge magnets for friends of mine back in Canada. The place is full of information. It may be a stretch to tie all of it to UFO material, but if youre interested in UFOs and museums then this is the place to be.Im not going to say its the greatest thing on planet Earth or anything (pun intended by the way), but its still something that you should check out if you are in Roswell, or even within a few hours drive of Roswell.

We visited on 7/6/20. Only the gift shop is open and they have lots of cool stuff and a few aliens to pose with. The man who rang up our purchases was very friendly and helpful. The woman at reception was also very friendly and helpful. However, she stated her personal belief that the virus will be gone after the November presidential election. This made me concerned as I hope that--whatever her beliefs--she continues to be safe outside of work since she does come into contact with people from all over while at work. I also found it insensitive as we have lost someone to COVID-19.

This place is so cool for anybody who loves or is even curious about the history and culture of UFOs and aliens in this country and beyond. It is not kitschy or corny; there is tons of documentation and photos from the 1947Roswell crash, to alleged cover-ups, all the down to artwork and dioramas of aliens in modern pop culture. The price is not bad at all, and for someone who likes to read everything like myself, this place easily has a couple hours worth of things to keep you busy and entertained. Well worth a visit!

Quirky, Corny but Fun and Very Informative!!Okay yes, youve read the reviews, and they are all over the place but what Im going to tell you is the truth here. Yes, its quirky, its a UFO MUSEUM !!! Yes Its corny, some of the displays look they are from the 50s. But let me tell you for a mere five dollars, you can learn everything there is to learn about the famous Roswell incident. Yes, there are displays and images from all over the museum even some local native lore... like the Aztec Wood Carving of Famous Ancient Astronauts made famous in Chariots of the Gods...hmm. How about the research center itself with literally tens of thousands of documents on the famous crash with all kinds of investigation reports and findings on the subject. You could spend days alone going through the material. Did I mention the gift shop?? Its huge and you just cant leave without getting a keychain a t-shirt or a poster. The Museum itself is fun with all kinds of funny and macabre displays and images. Its well worth the time and dont forget to take many selfies while youre there or you will regret it. Whether youre in Roswell for the first time or the tenth time, this is one of those cant miss places that every tourist should see.

The International UFO Museum And Research Center is located in Roswell, New Mexico, United States, in the downtown district, and is focused largely on the 1947 Roswell Crash and later supposed UFO incidents in the United States and elsewhere. It was founded in 1991 as a 501c3 nonprofit educational organization and is located in a former movie theater from the 1930s. The museum contains an extensive library and exhibits all focused on the history of UFO encounters. The catalyst for the museum was the 1947 Roswell UFO incident, in which a rancher, W. W. Mack Brazel, discovered metal debris outside of Roswell, near a giant trench that spanned hundreds of feet. The International UFO Museum and Research Center shares theories about the Roswell incident and other extraterrestrial life. The Museum was founded by Glenn Dennis and opened in September 1991. The museum also has a gift store with UFO-inspired souvenirs.

On a recent trip to Texas, we did a day trip to Roswell to explore around and take in the phenomenon of UFOs and the crash. This was an obvious stop to see what it was all about and I would say that I wasnt totally disappointed. The price for admission is very very reasonable only being $5 and there is a lot of free parking all around the area with a very short walk. The lady at the front desk was very nice and polite and got us admitted pretty quick. To call this a museum and research center I kind of think is not the best description for it as it is really just a giant room with displays along the perimeter. Its more of a Roswell UFO gallery which a lot of good information regarding the event and the phenomenon. There are a lot of news clippings and documents from the crash that lets you see the history unfold from the start. As you move along the gallery it moves away from the crash and into the UFO sightings across the world with a lot of interesting models, artifacts, and photographs from around the globe. There are a few famous displays of aliens from movies and TV and a large display in the middle of a UFO and alien greys that come alive and give a short show every 45 minutes or so.At the end of the walk through the gallery you come to a gift shop full of all the little knickknacks that you would expect to find from toys, posters, shirts, food, and even some books, namely autographed copies of Fire in the Sky which is one of the more famous accounts of an abduction. I ended up getting some stickers and poster reprints of the original newspaper articles of the crash which to me are the famous articles from Roswell.Overall for the price is incredibly reasonable for what you get and the information on display is nice for a UFO fan. The gift shop was pretty neat as well with a lot of little things for the kids or as souvenirs. If you are on the UFO tour I would say this is certainly a place to stop in for the start and get the hype going.

Loved the museum and priced right!I would honestly give five stars if it werent for the person who issued us our admittance stickers. After asking us how old our daughter was and I was paying, I asked if he ever encountered situations where the parents attempt to lie about the kids age to get a cheaper price only to have the child proudly state that they are older. He was quick to say Of course! But you know who does it the most? The Hispanics.” After giving him no response, he continued to give more examples of his prejudice.I do not think his behavior is indicative of the staff as a whole but he was the only individual I interacted with.To the museum staff/owners, my visit was on 03/18/20 at 11:25.

Okay, so this UFO thing isnt going to be for everyone but Id recommend having a gander. The price is cheap, its a good way to get out of the heat and if you have any interest in the subject whatsoever youll find this place interesting. Ive read the books, I have an interest in the subject and was expecting a lot of cheesiness. I was surprised. You can spend an entire day in here reading the displays. Probably more. Along with the well known lore and nonsense there is a spattering of really good information on what happened outside Roswell in 1947. Youll see cheesy dioramas that add a good entertainment value. I liked it. Also, should you be interested, their library and research rooms completely took me by surprise. They probably have a copy of EVERYTHING ever published on the subject and it was something to see all this documentation in one place. I left pleased with it all.

Ba
Review №93

One thing you can say about Roswell is that they embrace their controversial history! This museum is a prime example, although not overly kitchy like so many other sights around the town. We thought the exhibit was very well presented, and encouraged patrons to draw their own conclusions about the famous Roswell event. They have a number of interactive displays, and there are lots of pictures and copies of official documents and reports. They even had a section of fake pictures as well as drawings by children. The animated spaceship and ETs was another lighthearted display, and Im sure children would love it! Our biggest disappoointed was the lack of any of recently (within the last 3 years) de-classified information. Perhaps that is in the works. Would recommend if you have time, as its informative and thought-provoking in many ways.
