Wow this place has an incredible collection. As a young kid who was fortunate enough to work with computer starting in the 70s it was a stroll down memory lane. This has to be one of the best collections in the country

The computer Museum of America in Atlanta is the largest privately owned collection of Cray Super computers and memorabilia highlighting the evolution of computers and computer technology anywhere. It is amazing to see this computing history up close and personal. From Punch Cards to super computers you will see it all. I highly recommend checking it out, bring your team, your kids and your grandparents who have seen these when they were top of the line innovation. There is plenty of event space and classroom space to accommodate an event or off-site and there are plans underway to expand further.

Lots of fun. A huge collection of consumer, commercial and industrial computers and electronics. Perfect place for a nerd like me. I got to meet the new AIBO also, which theyve now got on display. (One of the only places in the United States to see it!) Ill be returning to this museum in November. The collection of CRAY supercomputers is huge, the Apollo 11 exhibit was great, among the computer history timeline. Many of the things in this museum are things you wont see anywhere else. The development is going very well so far, and theyve only been open for a few weeks! I give it five stars. ★★★★★

Went here with my 7 year old daughter for a father-daughter day and we had a great time! The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there were many exhibits to keep both children and adults interested! After going through the Super Computer exhibit, we went to the Space exhibit, followed by the Technology Timeline exhibit, then we spent time playing some video games and doing some circuitry puzzles. Overall, solid place to check out if youre in the area, and as they just opened in 2019, theyre actively doing a lot to further add to it!

Visted on Sat Jul 12. I really loved seeing all the old computers. Weve came a loooong way! Just ask my 8 y/o! LOL he got to sample very old game systems. And a Rotary phone Ha! Looking forward to this place growing so we can see the HUGE stash they have in storage just waiting to be on display! I reccomend taking your kids so they can see what their fav tech toys were like many many years ago.

Visited the museum with a techy friend and was impressed as a non techy person. It amazing how these machines have advanced over time. The have things like the Lisa, an IBM computer from the 80s, an Atari game system that you can play and loads more. The staff is amazing they definitely know their gadgets and facts. This place host lecturers and has a nice size room that you can and rent for events/meetings. I would definitely go back and if you love technology this place will not disappoint you.

Geek city. Some exhibits are still under construction as of spring 2020 but the collection of super computers from the 1970s and beyond is fascinating. Little pricey to get in, but good for at least a couple hours of entertainment

Good fun. Nice to see some old friends from the early days of computers. Also a nice display of the early space program. Knowledgeable volunteers happy to share their experiences and listen to your stories. Sadly not accepting any additional Commodore 64 donations, they have plenty

In all fairness, I love computer history. This museum only recently opened, so you can see endless potential. At the same time, even at this early stage, it has an amazing amount to see. I would guess that there are more Cray supercomputers and artifacts in Roswell, Georgia, than Cray themselves would have. If you have never seen an Altair, IMSAI, SOL-20 or Apple I, perfect specimens reside here. The opening timeline is very comprehensive and interesting: A computer Hall-of-Fame. Ultimately what is so impressive is the scope of the Big Iron. Everyone at the museum was enthusiastic and welcoming. There is also a large area devoted to Apollo 11, the space program, and space technology- complete with some nice photo ops.Our visit ended perfectly playing Asteroids and reminiscing about the interesting and exciting history of the early computer industry. I look forward to visiting again.

Stopped by here before checking out The Irishman at Aurora Cineplex. What a happy accident!! Will definitely be returning to see the current #exhibits.Met one of the founders as we were leaving. Super nice guy! If you go as a family of 4 its only $40!! 10/10 reccomend if youre into computers or technology in any way and its just outside of Atlanta! Something for everyone to enjoy. Looking forward to them expanding into the upstairs space.

This place is pretty cool. Im a software engineer, and I have a great passion for computer science, so I was really entertained by the stuff they had.My tour guide was a bit offputting though. He must have told us not to touch anything at least 50 times, no hyperbole, and its not like we touched anything to begin with. The place seems unfinished, like theyre trying to unpack and get some things ready still. All that said, I still found this place very entertaining, and I highly recommend it.Also, check out this hilarious magazine from the 90s.

A work in progress, but a great start. Visit this weekend to Celebrate the Launch of the museum and see the full-size replica of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module on the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Museum opens to the public for the first time Saturday, July 20th.

It was very interesting going through the history of computers though the main timeline exhibit only has the names of the computer and not their useage. They have a very large collection and are still working on moving everything in so the flaws are understandable.

Really cool museum. They still seem to be setting up (some blank placards next to displays, some displays without placards, etc.) I had Wikipedia up on my phone, but I think had I been feeling more sociable the tour guides could have easily out-explained Wikipedia. After talking with a tour guide it looks like they have really big plans for this place and way more pieces in the museums collection than they currently have on display for future expansion. They do have a sort of out-of-place space exhibit in the middle of it. When I saw it, I thought, neat, Ill get to see some history of the computers used in space exploration. Not so much. Its mostly just stuff about space flight and specifically the Apollo program. Still really neat, but it could have been tailored a little to fit into the vibe of the rest of the place with some discussion of the computational requirements and advancements of the program--especially now that much of the software that powered the Apollo program is up on Github.Ill definitely be back with more friends.

This new museum opening Summer 2019 will become a game changer for Atlanta as it progresses through multiple development phases. I was fortunate to receive an advanced tour and can share that it will become a primary destination for education, events, family outings and much, much more. Many thanks to the Mimms family and Todd Peneguy’s tireless work, continuing to evolve our great city into a world class destination.
