Would have loved to have gone inside. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, they were closed during our visit. Still loved the displays that we could see however.
Very interesting museum containing lots of aviation memorabilia. John and his wife are running it and John is an amazing person. He’s a Veteran and very helpful and eager to share his knowledge with anyone. I highly recommend arriving a bit earlier for your flight and check out this museum. Roswell is near an Air Force base and one can hear fighter jets roaring overhead!
Classic cool! WAFB was home to me in the 60’s and it was a eye opening walk through the past. The curator was a wealth of information and helped me catch up on almost everything. It was disheartening to see so much of the solid well built historical architecture had been destroyed by local politics, but a joy to step back for a moment in time at the museum.
No flying saucers. Booooooooooo
Its a small free entry museum at the Roswell airport. They have a variety of interesting artifacts, pictures and stories. Whether you have 20 minutes or two hours, its worth the time to stop in.
Small space but they have some very cool pictures and stories.
It’s definitely an interesting place, I would recommend stopping in if you’re in Roswell anyways. The big reason I rate it so low is because the static display aircraft shown in pictures on google are not true, even speaking with the staff they say they have tried time and time again to get the images removed because there are no such aircraft. You can not access the flight line what so ever, all aircraft out there are slotted for disposition and are not open to the public. Other interesting features of the base is an F-105 and a gun motor carriage over by the recruiters office. As far as the museum goes, it does have a few interesting images and documentation about the history of the base and some B-36 and B-52. A few flight jackets and patches, other than that it’s pretty barren. It’s a single room inside the flight terminal. I would not plan a trip to this place, I would recommend it as a stopping point though. Happy travels!
I love it. The plane and the place was great to visit
An interesting and friendly view of Roswells partipation in and contribution to our nations Air Force.
A lot of interesting material of what Walker AFB and its predecessor were. Hope it grows larger some day. Worth a visit.
Small place but they have some very cool ARMY AirCoprs/Airforce memorable.
We really enjoyed talking to John who works there about history. Its a free museum but everybody should donate to help keep it running.
Gentleman was welcoming. Lady walked out of bathroom not washing her hands and sat at welcome table eating the entire time we were there.
Disappointed. It is great history but I was expecting to see some vintage plans not modles.
The museum is interesting.
As a veteran Im invited to be a part of the museums work to preserve history.Im proud to have this once in a lifetime opportunity!
Very small but has some important and interesting facts
Interesting pieces of history here. Shouldnt misses it if you go to Roswell New Mexico
Very small, like a garage. Its in an airport, there are mostly models. The people who work there were sweet and enthusiastic, but there just isnt much too it.
Its a gift shot with a few model aircraft and historic photos. Nothing more. Someone lied on the about the true nature of this location for tax purposes. There are not any actual aircraft inside. There isnt any aircraft outside to view. The museum part is completely false.
Small but very nice place
The sadest aviation museum I have ever been too
Interesting place. Used to be Walker AFB. Closed in 1967.
Its a beautiful place
Great little gem of a museum here in the small terminal building. Open 10am - 3:30 pm local time.
Great place to learn some history about airplanes and Roswell
Place is great. A bit small. Wish it was big.
Awesome information ...wish the local city govt. Would help preserve and aquire a few WWII aircraft and provide support for the service men and women who bravely served our country. Shame on the state for not making this history a major part of Roswells tourism. ......I am personaly saddened. To the staff makin do.....Uraaaah!!!
Neat little place
Quite a little gem for a airport to have.
The place was AMAZING thank you for you service sir!
Need more to offer
Who knew so much history was contained in Roswell?
It was sad.
Disappointing.
Small
I love that place!!
Really need piece of history
A lot of models and pictures, the collection could be described as either eclectic if you are older or incoherent if you are younger.
Very limited information, usually closed when flights arrive.
