This is truly a gorgeous course. The greens were well kept. The staff was great and accommodating. A very limited pro shop, but has all the basics. The GPS on the carts is very handy. They provide a drink cart with friendly staff while out on the course. Food at the restaurant was good, and the bartender/golf pro/waiter was great. He really will try and make you any drink you can think up.
The gentleman at the gate entrance was not very welcoming or friendly. After him everyone else could not of been more helpful or friendly. Great course and well maintained. Really enjoyed the day there.
My first time at the course and although I just used the range, it was set up nicely and the staff were friendly. Looking forward to playing a round here soon!
Great place to golf. Golf shop personnel were super helpful and very nice. Restaurant staff was friendly and fast and snack cart was fully stocked and loaded. Great experience, especially during these times.
The staff and the golf course is awesome definitely will recommend this to any golfer that likes a challenge
Nice course and very friendly staff
Golf course conditions were mediocre at best. Greens were terrible. At one point, my playing partner had to get relief ON the green due to a brown patch. Fairways were pasture like and sand hardly existed in the bunkers. We had lunch before playing and the French Dip was the worst Ive ever had. Very little meat and the meat had a sour taste to it. I hardly ate half to avoid getting sick possibly and the fries were soggy. My friends salad looked a lot better. It will be awhile before we return.
The course is in great shape. The staff treated with respect and were very professional.
Very nice course with lots of different looks
This is a nice course; one of the hardest in Sacramento. However they dont have a walking rate which is a shame because its a very walkable course. Also the course is bare many spots. The service is food and so is the restaurant. Try the french dip.
Nice quiet course, not too busy but snack cart is almost absent, you might see them once during your round.
Great day off golf with the buddies course is in great condition & pace of play was great for Saturday tee time. 4 1/2 hour round
Very rude Marshall. Very annoying rushing all our groups when we were all 15 minutes ahead of pace of play. We finished 3hrs and 47 minutes.
Very good place to golf for the avid golfer. It used to be a private course and the setup is challenging. Good value.
Love the club house! Beautiful views!
Very nice golf course and very friendly staff, youll really enjoy the whole experience
Course and staff is always great
Greens are in really bad condition.. looks like a mine field.
I enjoyed every thing great couse great staff especially jeff
Course was in good shape. Really enjoyed playing here.
Course was really dry and not great shape
We had a great time at Morgan Creek Golf Club this weekend. We attended a birthday party here and this was top of the line.
Beautiful course! Was happily surprised the drainage is very good here. Even the day after it rained the greens were still pretty quick and I dont think I saw any mud. Some of the older crowd, that have been going for years before it was made public, can get a bit cranky if youre not a fast player, but if you know how to ignore them respectfully than its not a big deal. All in all, very much enjoy playing this course.
Great course and a good price
I’ve played this course before and I liked it, but called them earlier today and the guy on the phone in the middle of me asking how much it was said “I have to go” and hung up on me. I’m Omw to have a face to face with you Johnny. Watch out.
Love this place.
Course is in amazing shape. Challenging layout, great pace of play, very friendly and helpful staff. I honestly havent enjoyed a round of golf as much as I did today at Morgan Creek in a long time. I routinely make the drive down to Sacramento from Reno to play and cant think of a better course in the area. I will definitely be back soon!
As a Wedding DJ at Buzzardball DJ Entertainment, a great venue makes all the difference in the world. Thats why I always enjoy coming to Morgan Creek Golf Club. This venue has a beautiful place for a ceremony with an incredible back drop of Sacramentos sunset along with the beautiful golf course. And after the ceremony, its not a far walk to the reception area where again you get the sunset and golf course as your back drop. Plenty of room, air-conditioned and a great setting for anyone looking to get married. Highly recommend!
Left after 9 holes, play was soooooo slow! I understand play can very so much, but the two players in front of me were playing from the black tenant to go home and hitting 200 yard drives out of bounds. There should be some way to vett players on there ability. Playing behind that will make leave,
Great layout.
Great layout. Horrible condition.
This is a great and unique layout. However, I played it recently and the conditions are under par.
I have to say this course is always fun to play. Theres a unique layout that provides both beauty and challenge for every level of golfer. Ive played the course maybe a dozen times prior to this post and I would score it five stars if the greens didnt have so many unfixed ball marks. The condition of the course is excellent, well groomed fairways and first cut of rough. Bunkers are nicely sanded, and tee boxes were very grassy.
Awesome golf course to playchallenging but fun to play and easy to score . restaurant has great food as well.
Came out representing our home golf club, great experience. The golf course is playable but challenging, well manicured. Its a fun course for all levels of play.
Really enjoyed the course though the back 9 was very backed up consequently had to wait on every hole coming in. But the value for the, fabulous! Greens soft and slow, fairways open and easy to hit. All in all not a bad track!!!
I unknowingly met the owner of the club in passing. Was very friendly, bought me a drink and gave my fiance a few good golf tips at the driving range.Staff here is always friendly. Nice practice putting green.I play here probably twice a week.Sometimes it gets a little crowded but most decent courses do.
Challenging course in that many fairways are narrow and are very links style with few flat lays, which I find challening, and enjoy. No trees around tee boxes so summer shade is non existent. Very strategically located hazards, unfortunately most of the sand traps we experienced were lacking maintenance, some were mosty mud, others full of base gravels. Many of the greens were contaminated with Canadian Goose feces, and overly divet pocked. This course is begging for - proper maintenance -, and golfers who replace divets and repair their ball marks.Hole 19 was very enjoyable...
Great course. Clubhouse is amazing. Good food and drinks. Super nice staff.
Played with some new players, so Ill give five stars when I get a real chance to play the course.
Nice place to hold an important and occasional. Nice clubhouse.
Beautful course, area well kept. Beautiful scene.
Very clean and organized, but employees are very rude. They ignore you, even if you only say Hello in a kind way or even compliment their work ethic. They seem to only be interested in getting the event done and over with, as they always try to rush things. To be honest, I am quite surprised that such a business would do this. Not only do they charge crazy amounts, but they refuse good customer service.Quite disappointing.
Nice course. Good staff. Nice rates. Good condition. Only thing is they have a great bar and restaurant but close early, sometimes before we are even done playing golf.
Very beautiful for a wedding!
Really nice venue for a wedding because they have nice sunset views, along with options for a ceremony outside. I cant say much about golfing because I never golfed here. Check out my photos on their website, you can see where the sunsets and how nice their setup is. I have not worked with the new coordinator, but talking to her briefly and unlike the last one, she seems pretty bright and caring about your wedding.
I called the golf club to place a food order to go. Ive never eaten there, having just recently moved into the Morgan Creek development, but Ive heard good things about the restaurant. The phone ran for a bit before someone answered. I asked for the restaurant, was placed on hold and transferred. Again it ran for a bit before someone answered. I asked if it was the restaurant. It wasnt. I was placed on hold and transferred. The next person who answered the phone said it was the pro shop and his name was Dan. I said I was trying to reach the restaurant. He hung up on me.Maybe if you go there in person youll get great service but apparently not if youre trying to order over the phone. I dont think Ill ever eat there.
Great course. Great personal. Great food.
Had my wedding here 3 years ago. Their food was better compared to other wedding venues...thats why it has 4 stars. Jordan was in charge of events at that time... I give her 1 star. And I give 4 stars for the reception area. Its large, spacious, high ceilings, great windows. Wouldve given it 5 stars if the walls were white or an off white. That brown paint is just hideous, had to wrap the whole interior (besides the windows) with sheer curtains
$25 with cart on a SaturdayQuite a few ways to get in troubleGood value. I will be back next time I am in town
Great place for a wedding
Great value. Challenging course and nice club house.
A beautiful course among the oaks. Surrounded by big homes. Hope when it sells the course can receive a bit more care, the bunkers need some work.
Challenging course, greens have a lot of slope. Fairly priced.
Very nice narrow course. Needs to hit target shot. Not just hit driver every hole. Green were very bumpy and slow. Would play again.
Beautiful place to play a little stick .
I attended a wedding reception at the club. It was a really nice place for such an occasion.
Nice little county club golf course and bar in a great neighborhood
I love this course. I feel staff is very friendly. Greens are some of the best around. It is a harder course so bring your A game. I am a 16 handicap and have a tough time playing from the blues. But i think in the long run it makes me a better player. Very good golf value. Menu is much improved and I have yet to have any bad food from club house.
Great course and conditions. Great staff. Cant miss playing here.
I was a member when they first opened and to remember the course how it was and to play it today is heart breaking! Unkept! Sad day for me playing one of my favorite courses in NorCal!
Really nice course! Four different tee boxes so everyone can enjoy the course!
Great golf course great staff always friendly and they do the extra mile to help you out!
Great challenges on each hole. Nice people. Hope to play it again.
Went to a wedding here. UNBELIEVABLY GORGEOUS VENUE! Wow!
Fun course.
This course fives you a good Sacramento city of trees feeling. Great grand and some nice long drives. I recommend this course to play
Love the staff here. After you come a few times they address you by your first name! Food is always good. I recommend their signature ponzu wings. The course was much harder when it was private but realistically as a public course its not feasible to keep pace of play for the multitude of hackers out there. This course is a lot less busy and in better condition than almost all the public courses in Sacramento. They do have a lot of tournaments here so I would definitely book a tee time in advance.
Wonderful staff and DELICIOUS food at the events hall. Recently attended a wedding and we were treated to a loaded mashed potato bar, a fabulous charcuterie buffet, prime rib, and a pasta bar, loved the station set ups for a wedding. Also, the course is a lovely backdrop even in the rain!
Greens slow & bumpy, sand traps were like hard pan with some having water & deep crevices after the heavy rains. Granted maintenance crews probably could get their equipment out there to clean up the tee boxes & greens due to the rain?
Great Golf Course lot of challenging holes Grange Road very well great place to play
Nice course, played on 9/7/16. Greens lil rough but big and variable. My only suggestion is to mark the tee box colors I couldnt tell what color the markers were on the tee box.
The club house, pro shop, staff and the food (for a golf course) was great! The course on the other hand had some issues. The design and flag placement were awasome and has a beautiful scenery. Its the condition that was the issue, greens had quite a few divots and the fairways had drainage issues. I do understand that it rained the day before(around june 1st) but the damage seemed to be over an extended period of time. I will be back and hope the course is in better condition next time I come out to play.
Well kept and friendly staff
I played bloody awful but the course was in good shape. Holes 10-11-12&14 are quite possibly the worst holes I have ever played. The club house is nice and so is the reasturant.
Stopped by to hit a quick bucket and there’s nobody else on the range. How nice***
Always challenging. Course in nice shape.
Great venue for weddings and, yes, play golf!
Great course, always a challenge, and great time. Course is always in great condition.
Nice. Greens need help with divots
I played a tournament there today. The course was challenging and in ok condition. However there are no amenities what so ever. No bathrooms, No Water, No Tee marker signs & No refreshment carts on the course at all. We were the first of two tournaments. They booked the starting times too close together so we had course officials telling us to hurry up several times during our round even though our group was not holding up play of the one following us. We were playing ready golf as best we could and it sucks to be rushed. Our tournament included a box lunch which was literally tossed into our cart by a passing course employee with 4 holes to play along with another request to hurry up. Oh and the box lunch was without a drink (dry sandwich no water on course). I played a good round that should have been fun if not for the lousy service and lack of basic facilities. I won’t be returning.
Lovely place.
Morgan Creek is a nice golf course with a nice club house and event space for fund raisers.
In pretty decent shape at end feb. Punching greens next week. New carts coming soon.
Great golf course, really challenging and well taking care of.
Great golf course, wonderful weather today
Nice layout but greens and fairways were over watered
Good conditions. Interesting and challenging course.
HORNETS HORNETS HORNETS HORNETS HORNETS HORNETS and then some more HORNETS. This golf course is basically UNPLAYABLE because of the enormous amounts of hornets everywhere on the course. Literally every single step you take on the course either on the tee or on the green you will be swarmed by hornets flying around you and yes they do sting. It is really a shame because the course itself is in very good condition and it is a very nice course but because of the unbelievable amount of hornets it is basically unplayable. The staff need to hire someone to at least attempt to try and get rid of some of the hornets because it is ridiculous how many hornets on this course there are. Until they get the hornet situation under control I would not recommend coming to this course.
Good course.
Every entertaining course really want to play there again.
Best value golf I have played in years. I loved the greens and their condition. Be aware the greens have a wonderful design that uses many levels and greats slopes. Our seniors group from Granite Bay GC and Arrow Creek GC just had a great time and enjoyed our day. There are some challenging hole designs that will test your accuracy but the greens accept the ball from everywhere.
Good course at a fair proce.
Had a wedding here. Large area. Awesome place.
Had our Hair Wars Competition there. Very clean & great food!
Very beautiful place to do your wedding but the venue could be better.
