All the parks are nice (and there are plenty) this one has a bit of history, burial mounds! Also a pleasant view of the river. But lots of duck poop (lots of ducks) there is also access to a walking/ biking bridge that leads to the other side of the river where on Friday night there is a outdoor market w/food trucks.

Our 24th year of the Honor of the Mounds Gathering. We had a small group of people, but its actually pretty good.

Fireworks July 4th, 1997. Awesome. Im from Rockford. Remember this little park so well. Im 65 now and cant get around like I used to, so probably no more fireworks for me up there.

Its an interesting place to visit. We learned some interesting facts and had a nice afternoon in a picturesque, green setting. Lol

I attended the 24th Annual Honor the Mounds Gathering on Saturday August 10, what a beautiful park!!

We attended a Native American gathering, it was pretty nice. The park has alot of shade.

Chill relaxing place especially summer nights!. Clean most of the time

Its not always the safest environment for certain families Or couples times I have brought the wife and kids down there did not go so well too many drunks Stumbling around the place sleeping on the benches really need a standby officer to walk through and clear out the garbage, If you see where Im going with this but other than that its kind of a really cool place to brain the kids or just a nightly stroll with the wife once Its suitable for that kind of thing.

Peaceful riverfront view. Historical Indian mounds. Worth a stop.

Some really cool history here. Right next to the river also. A must visit if youre walking around downtown. Better when its warmer out.

Small but important park. Theres a memorial to vets in the front of the park, Indian burrial grounds in the middle, and a lovely river front at the very back of the park. (Part of the river walk parks)

Couldnt find their fountain feature..lots of trash on the ground and homeless..it was a depressing picnic

I see dead people. Honestly I dont get the whole burial mound but I do love the people that gather here in the park. Imagi Deo,the image of God - such opportunity to be a faithful witness to the glory of God. (Not safe at night)
