Sitting on the rocky beach by the river is one of my favorite spots. This is a beautiful location and I strongly recommend it.

I went there to bird watch and wasnt let down. Its a great simple loop with a path down to the river. Be warned though that the path down is very challenging especially when coming back up

Great hidden gorge not far from the parking lot. A hidden treasure.

Great place. Take the trail to the right of the parking lot to see the bluff and waterfall.

This place is gorgeous!!! Difficult walk down the gorge itself, but worthwhile!

The park is not very large but it does have some great views of the gorge and the bridge that spans the river here rises several hundred feet from the valley floor and is unique in the area.

Fantastic park with a great hiking trail taking you down into the gorge where it meets the river. The trail is well maintained and the gorge is quite a sight, especially for being 15 minutes from downtown Rockford!

Canoeing was nice down the kishwaukee river .

Wouldnt want to visit in the summer. Fall, Winter and early Spring is perfect because NO MOSQUITOES!!! It was a beautiful winter hike, wore my dogs out.

Gorgeous area to hike. Have trails for people who like to climb and be adventurous while also having a path for leisurely walking. Great way to get in touch with nature in the Rockford area.

It was a great place for a hike.

Its a cool place to check out and wander a bit. Usually pretty quiet and sometimes small waterfalls during rainy times. Worth checking out.

In rainy seasons theres small cascading waterfalls that go down the center of the gorge with long flights of stairs that go all the way down to the river great for getting your feet wet, fishing or even turtling. Very peaceful & there is a small cave or two in the sides of the bluff if you can find them

Not very extensive hiking trails which is what we were looking for. An okay location I suppose for a picnic in good weather

Another of the great Forest Preserves in the area. Great place to hike in the gorge or just walk the upper trails.

Beautiful surroundings. The downward and going back up the path is little dangerous, especially for the littles and elderly.
