The rose garden was beautiful. I was surprised of how I never heard about it before. So many varieties of roses. And the trail was great. I would definitely go back.

Garden very well taken care of, with a huge variety of roses. Went at the end of June which is a bit late for flowering season, but most roses that were still fresh and not wilted.

This is a wonderful park, with beautiful Roses during late spring and early summer. There are pathways in either direction, and one down along the Genesee river.

Came over for salmon fishing, best fishing trip ever.

A really nice park especially when the flowers are in bloom and it is right on the river path for those who have not walked that before. This is a area where those from the suburbs might not go because the city is scary, but for those who live here we dont bat an eye about going here. It is worth a stop.

The potential is there a lot of the roses are beautiful, but the Park just feels neglected and outdated. Even the fountain is barely running. Still a pretty spot for photos and wandering around on a sunny weekend.

There are more varieties of roses in this garden than Ive ever seen. The beds are increasingly well cared for - thanks, City of Rochester! June in this garden is a sublime urban treasure.

Love walking this area... went to the rg&e dam the other day. That was interesting. Wegmans trail passport has a bunch of markers along the genesee pathway trail.

A beautiful afternoon adventure. Only takes an hour or a little more to wander around the entire rose garden. The garden contains an endless variety of roses, each different from the last. Pleasing to the eye and the nose. There are red granite fountains and terraces. The rose area features benches underneath young shade trees for a quick sit. There are pincnic benches under shade trees. The perfect destination for a date or just a lovely afternoon out.

Great for sledding. Kids had a ball. This place is a hidden gem. It is great for all seasons. The Gorge runs behind it. It leads to the Genesse trail which holds all kinds of historic information. The trail leads to all 3 waterfalls in Rochester. The Maplewood Rose Garden has a festival each year. This year is Saturday June 10, 2018 from 12-5pm. During the spring/summer months you can pack a basket and have breakfast, brunch or lunch quietly at the waterfalls. During the afternoon or evening you can walk the trail or people watch. In the winter you can enjoy watching the children sledding/snowboarding. A park for enjoying all seasons.

One of the largest Rose gardens in the world. With so many varieties. Then during the winter term there is a huge hill for people to sled. As well as gorgeous trails to walk with a huge waterfall. There is a rainbow most days.

No regulation of the behavior of others. Be prepared to have someone elses music obnoxiously forced down your throat. Bathrooms are disgusting. I felt unsafe with my daughter on the trails...no presence of authority there either.

This park is so beautiful. The variety of flowers is wonderful, and the trails that lead to other parts of the park are equally pretty. You can get a good view of lower falls from here as well.

Has A LOT of potential. However it is still an area on the rise. Although great effort was made in the building of the accompanying gorge trails, there is garbage, grafitti, and inappropriate litter (not appropriate for children) strewn about. The garden itself is nice and open. I was too early for the roses, but Im sure it is beautiful when they bloom. The bathrooms were still closed in April. Bring a buddy if you come here, dont go alone. Looks like a great place to go cycling, as it connects to the gorge trail. The garden also provides a trail to access a man-made cave to view the falls from the bottom. But it is not an easy decline, and it is not recommended to go down and take the risk.

Great place to see some beautiful flowers of many kinds... there are some eye sores from the people parked or hanging out in the area with some not so great activities but the City Security usually shows a presence and keeps that under control.

Beautiful garden with an abundance of rose varietals. Hybtids, tea roses, bushes interwoven with water fountains and picnic areas. An oasis in the Central City.

The rose beds are in disrepair, plants arent thriving like they once did. The watering system has visible broken pipes everywhere. The parking lot is full of loud music and usually full. Not a quiet and serene place to enjoy the many varieties of roses.

My wife and I had our wedding there in 2002, the day was perfect !!85was the tempwith a light breeze, the roses were still out in all their color,perfect setting for the photos that the photographers took, as well as everyone took as well.the wedding was in july 2002,everything was PERFECT for OUR DAY!!! IT WILL BE 12 YRS THIS JULY 2014
