Absolutely beautiful, clean. The walkway along the beach is great and to look out at the lake is perfect.
Beach is par. There was some glass, a lot of rocks rather than fine sand. No restaurants really right next to the part that I was at. There was a max of like 30ft of sand between the trees and the water which is not to my preference. Over all it was a nice place to go with a good group of friends, but if I personally wanted to relax on a beach or something of the sort on my own, I would not have enjoyed this place too much. One thing that was cool was that we saw a lady on her paddle board with her dog whilst doing yoga. Might have been the coolest thing Ive seen in a month or two. Also I noticed a lot of people bring their boats down near the shore and anchor there to chill.
Beautiful views and sandy areas with loads of space to have fun in water. Ample parking and bbq grills and bins for those wants to do picnic there. Not sure about public toilets, havent seen any. Our favorite go to spot whenever we want to have a feel of the ocean ..
From the lake’s shore to the hiking trails deep in the woods which meander around the glacier formed ponds and hills, it is a beautiful park. Year round enjoyment.
Had a great time our youngest ones Turboaka zachery grabbing gears bbbbrrrraaaappppp bbrraapp brap boy was his waste gate and blow off valve definitely working properly i just love the looks people give. his first time on a boat he told us it was the best day of his life wich definitely made our day
The beach as always been one of my favorite places to go you make your own day bonfire smores an so much more lol
Nice highland park in Irondequoit for trekking, running and fishing. Great location and fresh atmosphere for group activities and outdoor parties. The big lake is muddy and bushy with algae. The beach is so clean and kinda private (away from the road). Cant wait till Fall to see the foliage. Would come here every weekend
Nice and peaceful place, great for meditation and crafts
Absolutely beautiful place on the water. The only issue for me was the amount of gnats. We had to leave because of that.
Golf course ruins the park a bit but still pretty
Good beach, nice waters. Usually packed on weekends
Great place, clean. Plenty of parking.
Nice little beach out there
Much cleaner and nicer than the other side of the river
Love this park especially in the off seasons when the beach is mostly deserted except for a few folks who live nearby and are out walking their dogs. I avoid it in high-season when its packed with folks blaring radios and the boat people and jet skis-- but its a beautiful place to watch a sunset (or sunrise if youre a morning lark instead of a night owl, like me). Great trails in the park to walk, as well. Many happy memories through my years living here, and one of the places I miss most whenever Im away.
Love the park as always
Love this park especially in the off seasons when the beach is mostly deserted except for a few folks who live nearby and are out walking their dogs.
I have some medical illnesses and My dog and I had The GREATEST time with My roller Chair We walked a trail, went to the beach, and relaxed under the trees in the Park.it was Wonderful!!! Thank You So much. And GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS.
I grew up in Rochester and remember Durand beach to have been very rocky and poorly maintained. I havent been to the beach in over a decade, and now it is sandy, the water is clear, and there is no litter problem at all to speak of. It is August and Im in Roch to visit from Charleston, SC and Ive been to Durand beach almost every day. Way less crowded than Ontario beach in Charlotte. Durand park and golf course are also lovely any time its not snowing.
Its beautiful bark
Nice place for large family parties.Even good for an evening walk with the family.Nice and quite. The drive into the par from seabreez side is beautiful in the spring and fall
A classically beautiful park designed my Frederick Law Olmsted. Went with my Dad as a kid. Still close to my heart today.
Ample space to set up for a family bbq or friends get together. Water and sand are just a few min away walking distance. If you really enjoy and cherish green life and nature, this would be good! I go multiple timestherh
Such an amazing place. Calm and peaceful.
Nice walking path along the lake plenty of parking and always busy with people
The stretch of beach is tacky long with ample parking all along it. Theres one official breach with alife guard station. The rest of it is a relatively narrow strip of sand (compared to more crowded and popular beaches). There are picnic tables and grills dotted along the grass between the treeline and parking lot. The tree line seperates the beach from the grassy park. Past the trees is the narrow beach, sometimes 20 wide, often less than that but the sand is soft and well maintained. The watrr is calm and boats stay out of range of the beach. There are some pebbles, but 10 ft. Out, its sandy again and the water is very shallow for over 100 out.
Due to the high waters beach is closed, but stormy lake is beautiful, stroll along the shore in the perfect breeze!
Love this park, just can have a lot of trashy people at times.
Went here with my fiance to take a look here for a possible wedding space. She loved it. I loved it. I think we found our spot. Pricey, but worth it.
Boy oh boy please bring the inmates here to help tidy up!
Most underrated park in the area. So beautiful.
One of my favorite places to just Be. Great walking paths... awesome trails... breathtaking water and any perk Id expect from a great park. Love this place!
Good place to have fun with Family. Extremely busy on Holidays so plan accordingly.
Great course, good shape, very picturesque.
Amazing place to see the water and nature....
Nice views of lake Ontario
Course is in great shape. If youre looking for a workout dont take a cart. The walk from the ninth green should suffice for an entire week of exercise.
Had a family cook out there and it was wonderful!
Hiking, fishing, biking, boating, grilling. Durand is an excellent spot for all of these things. Parking can sometimes be a challenge. Other wise Id give it a 5* rating.
Beautiful park with a wonderful paved trail for running, walking, and biking. Beach is nice; clean and natural.
Great park, such a nice little park and there is a nice biking trial for riders to ride on and also just to walk on if you dont want to ride a bike or are walking a dog. The beach is kinda small but its very long so it makes up for it there. Water can be a tad dirty but right now its just higher than normal.
Shhh! Its terrible, you wont like it!
Beautiful park. On lake Ontario and has great hiking
Back in the day, I would recommend this in a heartbeat. Now, not so much.Dont get me wrong, it is a decent beach to go to on a hot day, but expect to be spending it with a lot of other chill seekers. The good thing about now is that they have bathrooms by the parking lot and a designated swimming area with lifeguards. They try to keep up with maintaining the sand and shore but unfortunately you may run into a group of individuals being loud and obnoxious or doing not so legal things. This is just one of Rochesters decent beaches. Nothing special.
Wonderful place for family picnics, hiking and fishing.
Great beach eazy to get to
May be a nice place to walk but lock up your stuff in the trunk. We pulled in today and found that a car had its back window smashed out and a mom and daughter had their purses stolen while they were walking. Great way to bring in the new year.
Great place! Beautiful
Warm and great for jetskiing
Sea, sand, fowl, fish, woodlands, deer and more, mushrooms, folk lore, walking, fishing, playing golf, skiing - such a gift from Durand and Eastman long ago for us to explore forever. Inspirational.
Great spot to hike or walk! Lots of trails and interesting spots! Always clean.Dont miss the Lilac Festival!
Nice place to chill and relax
Beautiful park with a spectacular Lake view. It is a great place to run and bike. The best way to experience it is via bike coming from Culver. It opens up to the view and you wont even notice the monster hill.
A very nice park. I have enjoyed walks, picnics, golf, watching the water and sunsets. The beach has been closed, due to damage, caused by erosion.
Great park for walking your dog and exploring.
Fun quiet beach.
Very pleasant experience.
Its not really a beach in my opinion.
Great place for an afternoon drive.
Good park to enjoy nice outing with family beach across the street. Can BBQ and there is public bathrooms in the park
Great park in a sunny and hot summer for kids. Because the play ground is in the shade of many trees. Also, the pavilions are somewhat private because of the winding road and hilly area.
Very nice park with a wide variety of trails. Just wish they had better water access to the lakes for paddle boards and kayaks.
Memories
Every season it has an attraction. Cross-country skiing in the winter to golf in the summer. Unlimited photo opportunities especially in the fall.
Dirty people need to clean up after themselves
All ways nice
Great scenery, very underrated park!
Beautiful place to walk
Some great trails to hike all year long!
Great place to take my Grandchildren.
Big park, nice trails, lakes, etc. near the lake shore.
Picturesque landscape. Lots of geocaching opportunities.
