This is a decent little trail for a family with two strollers. That is the only group I saw on the trail! The trail is actually on Twelve-o-clock-knob mountain. Good views in winter
Awesome hike. We did the entire hike. Make sure you have secure shoes as it is rocky and up and down elevation. Took us a good two hours. Stopped briefly for photo ops. Start early when it is cool if the heat bothers you.
Cool little trail in the suburbs of Roanoke. Parking was a breeze. Theres two trails; both loops. Red loop is under 1 mile. Blue loop is about 3.5 miles. Steep descent via switchback to a gorgeous mountain stream. Climb out was challenging.Take a picture of the map to reference. There are signs throughout the hike but no actual arrows indicating which way to go.Apparently theres a rare species of shrub called a piratebush that only grows in the area. Was easy to spot.
This is the 2nd time weve hiked this. It was challenging with kids but doable. Kids age 8,5 and a 15 month old who was worn
Fun trail I think its about four miles not recommended for little kids unless you plan on carrying them when you try to hike back up
Great trail. Better signs would be good.
We really enjoyed this hike very much! The waterfall was beautiful and the shade from the tree canopy was much appreciated. Our dog loved every minute of it. Nicely maintained and a great way to spend the morning!
Very clean and amazing views throughout the hike
Very nice. Some nice pools at the bottom of the trail to cool your feet in
Lots of poison ivy on and near trail!
The trail was great good views but it is rocky and steep in several places so just be prepared but all in all it was well worth our time really enjoyed it
Great place been going up there before the viewing area was there. Nice to have a parking spot now
What a work out.
Loved this hike!
Great trail, very close. Interesting flora.
It’s a nice trail near the city. Small parking area can get full on weekends. Do not follow GPS routing on Google. It leads to a private driveway miles from the trailhead and the owner is tired of having people knock on the door to ask for directions. The trailhead is on Twelve O’Clock Knob Right Road about three miles beyond where the GPS routing has you turn on to Powell Drive (if approaching from the South through Salem; You will pass the trailhead before reaching the “end” if coming from the northeast). The GPS location may have been corrected since I posted this review, as I sent a correction to Google.
Short simple hike with good views
