Beautiful area, very clean and great for younger children. There were a few sketchy prior hanging out in the pavilion nearby but they did not bother us.

Wow, this place is great. The playground is so baby-proofed I could actually sit on the bench and watch my kids play instead of constantly dragging them from steps and other dangers haha. Its connected to the Greenway which is pretty cool. My favorite part is the Drive Lane that goes over the river, the river is literally right there at your fingertips. It feels hidden away from the city and thats a nice touch as well. Great place to just escape everything and chill with the kids.

Bathrooms are not kept clean or stocked with toilet paper. Also no door on the stall which is weird bc a lot of little kids use it.

Great for toddlers 2+, which is rare in Roanoke for outdoor playgrounds. Just be sure to bring your stroller as parking is not close like other playgrounds.

Really nice park... good for a peaceful walk or a jog.. you can bike ride as well

Smith Park is nice but they need to open the road back up so that folks can park down there again

Great addition of more playground equipment across Wiley Drive with a wonderful sunset view. The benches under the pavilion could use some work, though.

Smith Park is on the Roanoke River trail. I see children playing in the park every time I walk by. Many people walk their dogs and their very young children in strollers on the Roanoke River trail that passes Smith Park. Nothing warms my heart more than watching young children on skateboards, scooters and bicycles running ahead of their parents on the trail by this park.

Nice park along the Greenway. Only accessible by for or bike most of the time. The Greenway road accessing the park is often closed to vehicle traffic

I like this park the most among some of the ones along the Greenway for its big open spaces under the trees as well as a pretty cool playground. The open spaces are great for a picnic and relaxing. The playground is great for younger kids maybe up to 10. It is a little hard to get to work the one way drive of Wiley.

My 5 year old loves this park. Its easy for little walkers so Id highly recommend toddlers. In the afternoons there are usually bigger kids who hog the swings and spinning toys which can get annoying but early in the day its great. Awesome shade forthe hottest of days and plenty of room. Id recommend parking at the green goat and walking/riding bikes.

Down by the river Smith Park follows the Roanoke River and is stocked with trout in this area. The park has clean restroom here along with a large picknick pavilion and a playground to enter the kids. Here the river is followed by The Greenway. In Smith Park tubing and kyaking are allowed.The Riverfest is also held here once a year.

I love it more a locals park, however if your a tourist and your walking the green way you cant miss it. I think whom ever planned on using the lower land flood zones as parks instead of residential developments was a genius. Roanoke has emproved flood management or prevention since I was a child. I love the parks though wonderful.

Great secluded park for the kids. Decent amount of parking, but you can also park near the green goat and have a nice 10 minute walk.

For avid bank anglers,Waters smelled of sewage in some places,soft lined banks by water will cause you to sink deep into water if not careful however banks were moderately clean but there tend to be several rude ppl had a run in with a guy today who wouldnt stop swimming in the water right where I had a line in trying to push me out of the area.And out on the greenway as well ppl can be hateful and the heavily congested areas used by bikers and runners make it somewhat difficult to cast use points and outlays to fish here fishing from the greenway or bridge causes more congestion. Good luck.

Every since they updated the playground equipment at this park it is so much better for my little ones. They have so much fun and we just walk or bike the Greenway to get there. Lots of room in a field around the large playground for running. They have water fountains.

The children really enjoyed it. There was shelter for us adults and benches to sit on.

Great park beside Roanoke River

Lovely riverside park and open space with a pedestrian and bicycle path running the length of the river within the town.

Super fun easy for little ones to play

Great playground for younger/shorter children. All of the equipment and platforms are lower to the ground than at most other parts making it easily accessible for our 2 year old. Good green space for running around the playground too. The greenway us adjacent offering a good walking/riding path for all ages. Excellent park.

Beautiful park on the Greenway. Run, bike, skate or stroll on a paved path beside the Roanoke River. Benches, a large playground, skate park and even a restaurant (The Green Goat).

Sure have made major changes since I moved in, back in 1998! Love taking my little for a walk through there and watching him play!

Great park, with water fountains and grills as well as a lovely covered shelter with picnic tables and restrooms. One of our favorite parks in Roanoke.
