We didnt get to take advantage of everything here due to the pandemic and just passing through, but I definitely want to come back and explore the mountain more! Everything is clean and well kept. Public bathrooms available too at the top!

It was beautiful and worth detouring to check out before I headed to the comic con. I got to see the sunlight burn off the morning fog. It was beautiful.

I love this place in the Fall. But in 2020 too many people not wearing masks and more foot traffic than I have ever seen

Easy access to this free attraction. Some parking at the star but more down the hill which has a paved access trail up to the star. There are public bathrooms available at the top too. Great view of the city from the lookout patio. Some of the walkways are paved, some are gravel between 4x4 lumber and finally some dirt trails. At the discovery center there is a trail condition indicator that is updated by users.

When I was a kid it was magical to see on our trips here before I moved to Roanoke. Its still beautiful and worth your time. Its a relaxing and chill place to visit. If you desire a good photo sit or lay down to get the entire star.

Amazing, iconic landmark, a must-see if you are near the NRV. There are paved trails at the top of the mountain, and the views are absolutely stunning! When you are below the star, it seems a bit surreal because you’re at the top of Mill Mountain! You’re right where that bright light you see every night is! This place is a very peaceful location, when not crowded. I went on a cold, winter night, but it was still a wonderful experience.

Interesting landmark. If your into neon, or old vintage sights it’s worth the detour, otherwise enjoy from a distance.

I love going here Its absolutely beautiful my kids love going there too. Very clean very well kept up and its one of my daughters favorite places to go!

My daughter and I had a good time. We were visiting family and needed an activity. This was great while waiting for the zoo to open.

Took dinner up at Mill Moutain Park and ate in the pavilion near the top. Had a beautiful view framed by the wood work of the pavilion. See attached.

It was a cloudy day, but still fun to go there. We also walked through the wild flower garden. I like how they have the different kinds of trees marked

Kids had so much fun. Its not a super large zoo but still decent. Nice drive through the parkway to get to it.

Lots of hikes, beautiful view of the Roanoke Valley. Close to downtown but feels like youre getting away. Good for kids and adults. Nice place to sit or to be active. The little playground has a fun rock wall to climb. We saw quite a few mountain and road bikers while we were there as well as hikers and joggers. Something for everyone.

I met so very nice people there employees and customers I respect and love all the employees since 2015and some from 2014 almost 6years every day nice people,excellent services, scrumptious coffee...ltc

I love the place it is beautiful unfortunately their restroom was disgustingly dirty during my visit.

A must visit near Roanoke Virginia. The view of the Roanoke valley is breathtaking!

It was a great experience up there visiting his father in the backdrop in the mountains just wanted to see I would recommend anyone traveling through the Blue Ridge area to come and see this Monumental place

It right along skyline drive. Great panoramic view. Star is of course man made but worth the 2 min drive off skyline to see the star and view. Zoo was closed do to covid. Certainly not mt rushmore or stone mountain but if in the area worth a stop.

The best park in Roanoke. Also the best view of Roanoke city. Great during the day or also great at night. Even better at sunset as faces west.

Nice area, quiet, nice for biking. Visited with my kids. They enjoyed the park with the rock wall slide.

Mill Mountain Park was absolutely fantastic. We went as a Girl Scout Troop. There is plenty of room for us to park and roam about the zoo. The girls absolutely love the short walk to and from the zoo. This was an incredible experience to see the snow leopard, red panda, in a load of awesome reptiles. The park was super clean.

Its my home town when the view is clear you can see all Roanoke and countytheair is some walking its not handicapped accessible but near by are trails and a zoo( mill my. Zoo)

This is a wonderful park with an awesome overlook! There is a zoo and picnic tables and a playground. The Roanoke star is there and you can walk right up to it! Also, there is the Roanoke starcam where you can ser yourself with the link provided. Lots of trails and walkways with plenty of animals and flowers. It is a greay place to visit while in Roanoke or while on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It also has public restrooms and handicap parking. Its a good place for kids to visit also!

Very nice little park. I came up here to check out the star when I was just in Roanoke for the night, and I really enjoyed spending time walking around and taking in the view from above. Lots of squirrels running around and some nice flowers, too.

What a great place to see all of Roanoke. Nice little trails, playground, garden area, small zoo (not free but inexpensive), and seeing the star up close.

What a great place. There are walking paths that are paved and some that are not (trails) the the place is beautiful. And on a clear day it seems like you can see forever. Lots of room to let the kids run free, just a great family place. Or a place to be by ones self.

I really enjoyed visiting the zoo while at the park.

Nice overlook.. parking for a minimal zoo. Just ok. They need to keep the weeds down.. Same as EVERYWHERE on the Parkway overlooks too though.

Beautiful Park with plenty to see and do.

Of you are in Roanoke then this is a MUST see. Plenty of trails to walk/hike and space for kids to run around in and very safe.

Great view, and it’s easy to get to the top. Nice trails too.

There is also a zoo and wildflower garden. Unfortunately they were turning people away (and many disappointed children) at the zoo gates due to coronavirus. Pre-paid tickets is apparently required for entry (at least for now) but nowhere does it mention that on their website. Best part about this place was the flower garden.

Wow. The view was amazing !

The zoo is in need of lots of repairs and updating, its be probably 30 years since I was here last and it will be a long time before I come back. The overlook is very nice and is a good place to take a date. Overall is was a good experience and my 8 y/o had a good time.

Huge sprawling park with great views of Roanoke!As well as the Zoo, there is the Roanoke Star and lots of trails to walk. There is also a picnic shelter with Bathrooms.Come for the views, stay for the nature!

What an awesome site so many fantastic views just an amazing place to visit.

This is a wonderful place to spend a nice afternoon or evening! The star is always a fun sight, and affords amazing views of the Roanoke Valley. The zoo, while small, is a fun little attraction that has been around for a long time. The playground here is more suited for older children since the apparatus require some climbing skills. There are paved walkways throughout the area, and a trail that leads from the Parkway down below all the way up to the star. All in all a great place to spend the day!

Fun little zoo.

Wonderful view! We brought our family reunion here for grand and great-grand kids pics. Everyone had a great time with each other, we all enjoyed the views. Stayed an hour letting kids run around.

Really pretty park with a visitor center, which includes live snakes, bees and more. If you have kids, there’s also a nice playground. Wish I could visit this park more often!
