Today (Sat) walked the 2 mile Willow Creek trail with my dogs. I was surprised to see LARGE GROUPS of 10 or more tightly congregated with NO MASKS! I was careful to stay far from these groups. They all look to be under 25 and youths. THIS PLACE IS CORONA-VIRUS CENTRAL. AVOID!

Its a nice trail that looks to be pretty well kept up. Looking at the maps I thought it would have more views of the river, but there was really only one spot that got all that close to the river. When I went it was during the monsoons and parts of the trail were flooded and very muddy. It was still a nice walk. The road to the spot is pretty easy to miss and its a bit on the thin side of things. The road is maintained its just something to keep in mind with larger vehicles at busier times.

I at least go once a week nice area that connects with a walking system that you can take for about 30 miles all the way south of the Albuquerque airport.

Beautiful place for photographers and casual hikers. Google Maps is off, but if you figure out how to get here, you’ll definitely enjoy it!Gets very busy during “golden hour” so I recommend photogs stopping in during the weekdays for any paid or pro work. I had a hard time getting shots without people in them or without someone running to catch their off-leash dog (sigh)...

Lovely place. Just under 2 miles for the loop. Trail is wide and connects with the northern trail head in Rivers Edge 2, with a few smaller, narrower trails for off the beaten path walking, a small beach on the Rio Grande to watch the river, and plenty of geese, rabbits, and even some deer and coyotes if youre lucky to see them, and the cottonwood forest is well maintained. I walk this trail nearly every morning with a friend. Beautiful place

Had a great time playing in the water. The people living in the tents tucked in amongst the trees seemed to hang out on the outskirts of the play area. The sand was hot. People cleaned up after themselves and everyone got along. It was a nice day.

This is a very good local hiking and running spot. The trails are well maintained, and there are multiple places to access the river on foot. There are park benches and educational signs throughout, however, the signs have become faded due to sun exposure.Numerous species can be seen throughout the year, to include rat snakes and falcons. Ducks and Geese frequent the river banks as well. Bring a leash for your pets, as this is a very popular dog walking location. Poo bags and trash bins are provided, but public water is not.

Ch
Review №20

Most other areas in the Rio Grande Bosque have narrow three foot paths that meander through the woods. Here, theyre gravel and nearly five feet wide, with mile markers totaling three miles, with path connections leading to the river bank, to the rest of the Bosque trails further south towards Corrales, and an exit to the North end that leads into the Bernalillo side. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Nice walking trails with lots of shaded areas. Only disappointment was some trail paths near the water are closed because of flood and fast currents earlier in the year that made these areas unstable. But I was glad it was posted and closed for safety.

Well maintained with shaded areas and open areas. The trail goes down by the river. Its a circular trail that has a couple trails dividing it. You can go all the way around or use one of the cross trails for a shorter walk if you wish.

What an amazing place. Had no idea this was here. Love the shade and clear paths and various benches to take in the sites or just breathe in the area. Take your dogs for a nice walk (clean up after yourself). Ample parking too. Beautiful setting by the boy scout area to make unforgettable memories.

I cant believe Ive lived here for eight years and hadnt been on this trail! Its gorgeous -- a perfect walk/exploration area for families. Took my 4 and 6-year-old daughters and they ran through arroyos, splashed in a shallow section of the river, caught tadpoles, played under cottonwoods and aspen trees, and had a picnic by the river. Plenty of shade -- or sun -- and many tributary paths off the main path if youre looking for adventures. We saw several other people, but it wasnt at all crowded like the paved bike path or other open spaces paths weve walked.

Great place for a walk, jog, whatever! sandy, level loop trail along Rio Grande Bosque and beautiful Sandias behind river, some paths lead down to river, loop is approx 2 miles, there is another out and back trail that you reach when you go right from trailhead, then up a rocky trail off to the right, it goes out about 2 miles all along the river, beautiful views! So 4 miles round-trip....both trails are beautiful, peaceful, once you go there you will always go back!
