Great hiking spot with access to the river! Lots of little trails leading every which way. Great place to bring my dogs! There are no public restrooms or potable water access. There is limited parking coming from the residential area.

Trailhead Park is primarily accessed by foot and is a clean and quiet spot to spend some time away from car and truck traffic. These photos were taken in the park or directly adjacent to it.

Accessible from the entrance to Trailhead Park in Rivers Edge I, or by walking along the Bosque from Corrales Road. Its a short walk from the park to the Rio Grande River. No facilities.

This is the best park to go to with access to the river. there isnt a lot of parking in the neighborhood and right now because of the pandemic the road by the irrigation ditch is closed. now the best way to access this park is from where you would Google trailhead Park, its off of roadrunner. its in rivers edge one off of corrales road

Very nice trail along the bosque, popular with photographers. Gets a bit busy on the weekends and people aren’t very polite. Google directions are slightly off. You can turn on riverside or you can head toward Corrales and turn left at the “Open Space” sign.

If your plan is to let you kids play on the toys at this park youll be disappointed. They are rusty, broken, and unsafe. The park itself is in a pretty nice location with river access. I hope they repair the play area because this park would be great of that happens.

The turn off to get to the parking lot is a little dirt road between 2 metal poles. Sometimes it can be hard to see. The lark itself has a trail with lots of benches for resting. It runs a lot the rio grande which provides more sight seeing. You can bring pets if they are leashed. I have seen coyotes roaming around here a few times so be on the look out if youre bringing a small animal.

Completely in the shade the first half of the day. Kind of old and rundown but my kids loved the park, kind of a best kept secret

The playground equipment is a bit weathered, but it has coushined ground in certain areas. There are multiple picnic tables and benches within the boundary. This park also has an expansive section of grass lined with trees. There are multiple dog waste stations in the area, and Ive never seen them devoid of poo bags. However, there is always a frustrating amount of dog poop around the playground equipment. This isnt a reflection on the park itself, but its one of the main reasons I tend to go elsewhere. The biggest drawback to this park are the parking, and entry situations. If youre on the Bosque trail system, this park is along the way perfectly. However, car parking has to be done in one of two inconvenient ways. The first is by the river access dirt lot, via Corrales Road, about 100 meters to the north of the park. You then have to walk that distance along a narrow dirt road that people tend to speed on.Option two is parking in the Rivers Edge neighborhood, on Sandia Vista Road. Here, you are to the West of the park, and have to cross a wooden bridge to the Bosque trail system, then walk a good distance either North, or South to get to the park entrances. This is because the West perimeter is lined with tubular fencing. Its not impossible to cross and go down into the park, but youll be on a hillside with cactus, sage, and chamisa. This park is not ideal to bring young children or strollers because of the poo landmines and the parking.

Great little Overlook of the Rio Grande and the Sandia. My boyfriend and I are photographers and we really liked the quick drive from Corrales as well as the perfect view of the Sandia Mountains. There was lots of Runners and people walking with their families and dogs. Next time we go I would definitely bring my dog and let her run around in the water for a little bit. We also heard some horses in the area which was nice. It seems as though someone has cleared some of the big pieces of wood out of the river, so there is makeshift seating along the water. Overall I really liked this Overlook spot. Quiet and tucked away in New Mexico is always a gem
