Nice nature trails, good fishing, and some historic buildings. Decent parking, close to Maymont park.

This is another one of those beautiful places Richmond has to offer. Its a nice little scenic walk down to the river in a secluded little area. Plenty of places to hop in over here. Great place for when its really hot outside!

George Washington dined here at the only remaining slave-built stone arches on the Kanawha Canal. This is a great relaxing place to stroll in the winter when the greenery has died back. Summer is a bit overgrown.

Very interesting historical structure near Kanawha canal and James River trails. It would be great to renovate the inside to utilize this lovely place by the James River. Hike west along the trail to Washingtons Arch. Signage is spotty but you can find Hx on your phone

Great piece of Richmond history. Victorian-Gothic style architecture. With an open air dance floor on the upper level, it was once a nightlife spot in the early 20th century.

One of my favorite places in Richmond. Walk to the back and you can cross the tracks to the river. Great views of intact portions of the Kanawha canal.

Love finding hidden gems like this one in downtown RVA. Easy to use paths but not very long distances. Great for a short walk by the water with beautiful scenery.

So this space is super interesting-- it has an odd variety of land and some buildings, along with a few historical markers. That said, its often uneven walking and never quite feels safe.

Within 15 minutes we saw four pairs of Mallards, five Canada Geese, and two White Tail deer. A very small attraction, but such a beautiful building and a hidden gem.
