This resort is amazing me and my family loved the location . They also rent out one of the tiny homes over night so u can see what it’s like to live tiny . This rv park is awesome. And Sarah is very nice along with the rest of the staff they are all very friendly . We wanted to move here but they don’t accept tiny homes that people already own cause theirs not enough space we are hoping one day their will be with high hopes as we have our own tiny home and would love to live here . But either way this is a awesome place and it definitely deserves five stars if not more from how much the owner has improved the property and how much effort they are putting into it . We do however need a tiny house community that people can go and bring their tiny houses to as well since we don’t have one that would be awesome . Maybe river west will get more land and put more lots in it as their view of how it should look is right on point and as I said it looks amazing and they have a amazing staff I own my own company and have a great view of buisness and knowledge and this company def has a awesome view of how it will look and already has done a amazing job .
What can I say about this beautiful little place. While Reno is the Biggest Little City, it’s interesting that you can’t find many high quality long term RV resorts. When your looking for a place to stay, River west is the obvious choice. We stayed there for almost 2 months and it was so magical. All the sites were fenced in for privacy. We were able to make this place feel like home. Although the sites were nice, it was so amazing to have the river right by the park. We actually kayaked down the river just to get off at the resort and walk back to our spot! The trees are amazing and there are so many beautiful blue jays, doves and hummingbirds! Every morning we would sit outside and watch the birds and listen to the trees. While this all contributed to a wonderful experience, the experience was made by the people! We had the pleasure of meeting some of the most genuine people I have ever met. They were incredibly nice and helpful. I still keep in contact to this day. Now you must understand, this Park is a growing park, there is some noise as the owner is working on explanding and adding new sites. The noise never bothered us and was never too loud. The owner has manitience workers who clean the roads, trim the trees and other essential activities to maintain the beauty of this park. If your looking for a magical place to stay with wonderful people and privacy this is the place.
Omgosh, loved this rv park. A place to walk the dogs off the river, not very big but so beautiful!! It’s more a community of tiny houses that allows rvs. Very nice.
Great RV park. Full grown trees and private RV parking spots that are fenced in
Very quiet freindly place right on the Truckee River. We have a relative who lives there and she loves it.
I never leave reviews. However, I feel guilty not sharing what to expect if you make the choice to come here. Don’t let the professional photos or the nice receptionist fool you!The facilities are way below standards. The cinderblock restrooms/showers are CREEPIER than the ones I’ve seen on prison tv shows. The busy laundry room only has 4 washers (one hasn’t worked in a long time) and 4 dryers (also without one working properly). This trailer park is located on the Truckee River, which is the reason this place is appealing. Being able to walk a few minutes from your RV to the river is great. There used to be a common area by the water, but now they’re building tiny homes so there’s a lot of construction. Its not very comfortable nor is it easily accessible from this side of the river. I usually walk about a mile to Idlewild park and enjoy the river from that side. This trailer park isn’t far from downtown, but I don’t recommend walking around at night. It’s not the least safe area in Reno, but I’ve had multiple friends in the area with their cars broken into and even stolen. The monthly rent has increased substantially because they are trying to upgrade this “resort” to a tiny home village, so they can use it for airbnb. Cute thought, but for the older people who have lived in this community for years it’s really unsettling watching them be kicked out of their homes they can no longer afford. Also, these renovations have caused constant construction noise. They have noisy equipment running as early as 6am and until as late as 8pm. The whole dream for “quiet living on the truckee River” is ruined when it’s obnoxiously loud everyday.Pet friendly? The only patch of grass has signs surrounding it warning “keep dogs off grass!” You can walk your dog in a loop on the dirt road of the trailer park.Since living here I have heard from many neighbors that the owner of this trailer park is (I’ll skip the profanity) rude, condescending, and arrogant.I can confirm that every interaction I’ve had with her has been completely unpleasant.I do not recommend coming to River West.
Very nice, historical park in an excellent location. Staff are friendly and helpful! Love it.
This RV resort which was known as Chism RV park was bought by new owners a few years ago and they are putting a lot of work into it. Im concerned that they will raise their nightly rates more than they are now. But if they keep them at what they are at now, staying here will be well worth it. The facilities are being gone through inside and out. If the nightly rate stays below $60 a night, we will be sure to return in the future!
Its a resort if thats how you describe a gravel parking lot. The multi-stalled toilets and showers took me back to my army barracks days, but not as nice. The traffic and sirens will make you miss the city sounds. The best part of the place are the office gals whose falsetto friendly voices were resort welcoming.
Drove around the park to see if there were any spaces I would consider staying in. Dirt drive and dirt spaces. Walked into the office to ask if they had any spaces available and she asked how old my RV was. The won’t allow anything older than 10 years. Ours is 12. She was kinda rude. Not nice.
My dad rented a space for years.... years ago, Chisms. I have great memories of my childhood there
Our second booking in 2 years and we really enjoyed our stay both times. Great location for walking to the casino strip and strolling along the .beautiful Truckey River.
Were told that the owner is raising the rent so she can make tiny homes and make the place more of an airbnb.Theres a guy whos 70 years old, has cancer and she raised his rent to 1,000 a month! Poor guy now has to move because he cant afford it.And one of the washers has been broken since we moved in a year ago....with the money they are putting into making the new tiny homes...they could take care of the people paying to live here and get a new washing machine.
Lovely place. I have a friend that stays there. But theyre little more expensive than the others Ive seen
Very nice people and friendly. Park was clean and kept up. However, the RV parking is on soft dirt and is very hard to keep the RV clean in and out. Also pets get very dirty quickly. I think they could improve that by spreading around some of those small stones like other RV parks and keep the dust and dirt down.
Nice well kept and quiet park next to the Truckee river. Gals at the office are always nice and go out of your way to make the stay comfortable. Manager cares about the place and can tell that she is trying to put money back into the place by making updates.
Clean and quiet
Great place to stay but tv spots are very close together. However, the staff is very friendly and upbeat
Super friendly staff. It feels nice to be here. Its really quiet and the river has a little beach to sit on. I wish they had space for longer than a night or two. We stayed 2 nights, but the beautiful lady in the office and the man doing all the cores outside were kind people. Great experience.
It was a great place to live
Clean and classy
Very nice people, beautiful river is right there...
Overpriced but fine if you like hanging out with drug users and dealers. Management makes a lot of empty promises and changes their mind on a daily basis. Advertised wifi never works and full of condemned trailers. You can find a lot cleaner for a lot less with a management team that will be more honest.
Love this place. They have fenced in areas for long term which is great if you have kids. Plus they have private river access.
Beautiful place to sit around and watch the river run. Management friendly and helpfu. Park in great shape even though not modern. Some spaces with grass and some with trees. Close to casinos, cheap taxi ride if you choose fastest instead of scenic route.
Great little place staff were friendly and helpful enjoyed our stay
This is not an RV park. It’s a trailer park that is full of trailers that are probably 50 years old. The owner comes off very sweet at first but that switch can be flipped quickly. Monthly spots run around $900 a month during summer because of having to pay for power. No WiFi and no cable. Some of the spots are spacious which is a plus but that’s only because the spots are meant for actual trailers. My family had a traumatic experience when we were here and I’m actually surprised that I just counted it as a huge loss(of money) rather than taking action against this “company”. The neighbors we had while we were there, also agreed with us on how we felt about the “owner” of this place. Huge disgrace of a place that calls themselves a “RV Resort”.
Absolutely hands down the best RV Resort I have ever stayed in.
Very friendly, nice fenced in yard, and next to the river!
Dropped off a friend
Nothing serious to brag about here its quiet for for a rv park. wifi is decent and showers and laundry are made available. .. close to downtown its a plus..
Great half way stop for us. Lots of trees for shade and nice facilities. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Will stay again.
Great little place. I spent 2 weeks here with my border collie and we loved it. My dog played in the river and then we would drive around to the Huge no leash park on the other side of the river and play ball or frisbee. Never had any issues.
Great park. Friendly staff. All spots have water, sewer, and 50 A hookup only. Right on the river, close to the food truck Fridays in summer
Dont make a reservation here because if anything happens you cant get your money back. Most places doesnt charge $350 for a reservation it is usually only $150 but I made it anyway so my bad it wont happen again.
We LOVED staying here when it was Chism Rv. We haven’t been since but we absolutely loved it !!!! We had a private fence around our Rv. Our dogs loved it. We loved the staff, neighbors, owners (Kerri) and location. It was a few feet from the Truckee river and few minutes from downtown. River access ! If we ever come back to Reno, NV we will try very hard to get back in and hopefully the same spot !! They even sent us a video for our wedding day of the staff holding signs. So nice.
We had the best experience with River West Resort! We signed a year lease with them and hated to move. They take very good care of their renters and their properties. We had a couple of issues with the house, as soon as we called to report them, Jen the office manger, had the maintence guys out that same day to fix the problems. Everyone that they employ are so very kind and caring. Hands down they are best rental property in Reno!! We will miss you guys!
I travel coast to coast and this is twice Ive stayed here in one year I love this RV park the management is great, good for overnight or permanent
Great staff and nice place to stay. They are upgrading.
Awesome place to stay owner and staff very nice
I was expecting it to be more woodsy with spaces next to the river, and didnt realize it was a mobile home park, but that isnt a deal breaker because the staff was extremely helpful and nice and the grounds were clean, with nice amenities. 0
I have a friend that lives there its pretty nice
Quiet, clean place to stop with an RV when traveling. Clean showers, nice and respectful residents. 4 minutes drive from downtown reno. Right next to truckee river.
Very helpful management. Right by the Truckee river. Decent rate.
Awesome staff! Clean and quiet park! Loved the river access!
Great place! Close to many activities, friendly people, pet friendly, management very accommodating.
Great service. Be humble and theyll serve you right. Burner friendly.
Overpriced for what the facility is mean while I have friends living there just because they like to be near the river
This park was so peaceful and relaxing, the new river area is beautiful!
I like what I see
Shes awesome
