It has a great picnic place under a roof. The weather found this beautiful. You are able to bring a camping stove there to cook lunch. Parking is usually a fool in the summer. In the winter not so much

This park has everything. Its very ADA accessible with nice bathrooms if needed. It has a cute playground, lake Sammamish, a sandy beach, flocks of ducks, lots of grass... Very fun!

Best place to relax with little kids. The parking lot is always full but the waiting for a parking spot is worth the fun that follows. You can dive here, fish here, speedboat, swim, hunt for shells, play volleyball, and so many other activities. Its super relaxing to sit in a shade at this beach and just sleep/relax. You can maintain social distancing in this park easily. Although the parking seems full, the park is huge and you can have fun on the beach while avoiding being close to other people.

We went there on a full moon night. The view was one of the most amazing views. Its a quiet place for an evening stroll with family. I enjoyed most of my 45 min stay there barring a few nuisances. There were people who were smoking even around kids and playing music on their cellphone (they didnt move away even after being asked to). Aside from this, it was lovely to see families/friends having dinner at picnic tables. A group had a bonfire as well. Highly recommend for an afternoon get together or an evening stroll.

Great place to walk around small park with a view of the lake, about two benches at the lake, a covered seating area to the right. About 6 there. Then theres a path way across a little pond to a pretty medium sized play ground set for the kids. Also about two or three benches at the lake. And a restroom.

Amazing little park, youll always find a parking spot in the additional parking lot, and there is a cool lawn on the other side of the forest. Cool spot to swim too. Many families and BBQ on summer days.

All in one park+ Lake Sammamish beach+ Large childrens play area+ Awesome views with good spots to take nice pictures.+ Good for joggers with highs and lows in the elevation with lot of tree shade- Less parking space- Overcrowded sometimes- If you are nearby, suggestable to walk instead of coming on vehicle.

A good place for a gathering, whether its a family or a group of friends. Plenty of open space, opens to a lake with a dock. Would recommend paddle-boarding or kayaking, the view is wonderful. If you do stay a while make sure you bring something to sit on, the ground is very hard.

Grew up going to Idyllwood and now it is a favorite of my daughters.Paved trail takes you to down grassy slope away from roads to park. Beach divide by stream that you cross and enter the main park. Picnic tables on grassy area are first come first serve and there is enough surface area for a decent size gathering.Due to Covid-19 lifeguard is not on duty but usually it is staffed with lifeguards and a consession stand sells snacks. Bathrooms with shower are open. There is a Sandy area below grass and a dock that meets a curve to the right side which is more primitive and private with no lifeguards. No boat launch but boats can pull in.I swear this is the best Eastside beach

I found this park by heading to the water to escape rush-hour mania for a lil while, and It did the trick! (mellowed me out, etc..) I especially admired the HUGE tree as the Greeting to the paved-walk down to the Lakes edge! There was some kind of unfinished renovation on the grounds - noted not by any workers working, but by fenced-off orange plastic impediments and the like - so I was not able to fully take advantage of the area, but overall Its a highly recommendable family picnic park with a lot of well-kept open space, and a gorgeous view of SW Lake Sammamish!

All Seattle area parks are awesome in there own way. I like this one because the one half is for the playground and swimming, but the other half is quiet and peaceful for picnics on the water. There are big beautiful trees to sit under and watch boats go by. The small waves crashing into the shore is calming.

Nice lake and park. It has a nice beach area. Dogs are allowed in the park on leash. Big clear space and it has the possibility to rent an area with roof and BBQ for any event. There are also some eagle living in the park and you may be lucky enough to see them hunting. For fishing it offers a pontoon platform as well.

Love going to this park :) It’s a great place to picnic with friends or family, enjoy the lake, and relax in the sun (or shade if you prefer). The lot fils up quickly but I’ve always been able to find space to park nearby or in the overflow lot across the street. Highly recommend.

This park is 10 minutes from my workplace. Decent size park. Our team holds team-picnics here in summer. There is a reservable shelter. There is kids playground too. Lake Sammamish access is there but no boat launch I believe. I wish we could see beautiful sunrises from here, but we only see Sammamish forests. No great views as such

Used to be great year round. Its still great in the winter, but in the summer its getting overcrowded, with too much barbecue smoke all over the place. Also, early this year the City of Redmond put down 31 native cottonwood trees. The eagles who used to nest there every year and stay until September left in July. Lets hope they return in January. This park has the potential to be paradisiac, but needs urgently a City administration with a more holistic view about human nature interaction.
