It is a beautiful and peaceful location. You can so a nice walk in the meadows with trails, or tackle the hills for a more robust challenge. The area is beautiful at sunset, lots of blackberries to pick and ear along the way and allows you to find peace, while so close to the city. Amazing place.
Perfect for preschool aged kids with lots of bridges and short trails that loop back to the bathrooms
Gorgeous neighbourhood park. Note that upper trails are closed for the foreseeable and park is relatively popular.
Great place to take kids for a walk. Its beautiful and well cared for. Bring a mask and a snack and spend a few hours with nature.
Nice trail, easy to navigate. Offers plenty of shade for the warmer days.
Nice but wish it was bigger. Parking lot on east side was full. Some trails closed
Not a lot of shade to start the hike but plenty of shade once you get in. Trails were well maintained and even the field was recently mowed. One of my wifes and I favorite hike since there is clear marked trails and several routes you can take.
Great big beautiful nature area! Go in spring theres a field of waist high purple flowers one can walk a trail thru, truly breathtaking! Posts show your direction or various paths and also the severity of the trail for hikers and just walkers. Dogs love the meadows, forests and small creeks flowing ever so slightly around entire area. A quick drink or cooling off for them. ( On a leash tho )
Looking to get away with your little ones in tow? go no further than Evans Creek Preserve in Sammamish by Sahalee. Hike down to the beautiful meadows, have a picnic and enjoy the bountiful natural surroundings. Its gorgeous!!
Having lived nearby, we didnt know about this gem until recently. Loops and loops and loops. One can spend 30 mins or hours; walking through woods, meadows, over and around creeks and streams. Its a beautiful park.
Half of the trails are closed until further notice. Still a nice place to visit, but hard to get a good hike in.
Such a BEAUTIFUL mini trail system. Well maintained, WELL marked. It would be hard to get lost. I dont think I could if I tried. Dogs are allowed on leash throughout the trail system. Some overhang areas, bridges, tree sections, and open field areas. Perfectly quaint little spot for a quick walk about in nature!
Pleasant walk. Good signs. Not too crowded.
Great trails. Different levels of difficulty.
Wonderful quiet park on outskirts of busy Redmond.
Super crowded lately, otherwise a great place for a quick stint into nature. A good chunk of the trails is closed due to slide danger.
Great trails for a family walk in the spring through fall.Lots of dogs walking. Primitive restroom facilities. No play ground area.
This is a great place to get out and walk.
At the right time of year amazing wild blackberries
Beautiful spring day in the park
Excellent local nature hike, and the paths and bridges are so well maintained. Thanks to all of you volunteers!!
Great place for walking or trail running. No dogs off leash but mine still loved exploring and sniffing. Lots of Pokestops and a couple gyms if you’re into Pokémon Go like I am.
This is a great little hike, just about 2 miles round trip with 2 different options for intensity, one flatter and one more hilly. Great for dogs and kids.
Just a nice little nature preserve. Nice place for a walk
Great spot for a day hike thats really close. Decent parking and several picnic places. I appreciated the abundance of maps on the trails.
Quiet and peaceful mini-hike in the middle of the city
Lots of trails all throughout the preserve
Its a good trail to walk on, not much of scenic views but the trail is nice and clean, easy to do for kids of any age.
Awesome small and cute place to be with small kids and yes there is a geocaching location too. Great signs to help small hikers...
Great for kids, ADA accessible!
This is a lovely place to go on short hikes. There are many trail branches so you can easily choose how far you hike; choose a more extended branch for more hiking, or if youre tired pick a trail that takes you back to the parking lot. Each fork in the trail has a clearly labeled map and arrows that point you towards different routes. Its a lovely little park; theres nothing unusual to see but the forest is dense, there are lots of tiny streams that change up the plant species, and for all that the park is small, it feels very isolated from urban life and other people. If youre looking for somewhere to get away from civilization for a bit while still being close enough to get back to Redmond quickly, this is a great choice.Dogs seem to like it, too; if youre like me and dont have a dog friend but like to meet friendly doggos when youre out and about your chances of running into someone walking a dog here are pretty good.
The place has nice moderate (easy actually) trail..The trail is well maintained and has nice and accurate marking on every junction. We visited in group and reached bit earlier than it opens (around 7am).Parking is limited but have additional parking in near by park..We were able to cover in pretty short time of an hour or so..
My wife and I enjoy this preserve to hike or picnic during our lunch break. A lot of people people walk their dogs here too.
Nice small hike in Sammamish. Parking is limited. Nice hike without much drive.
Our favorite near Eastside kid-friendly hike. There are enough branches to keep it interested, and you can include or not a bit of elevation. The numbered short bridges keep kids engaged. Nice in all seasons and plenty of tree cover in sun and heat. Highly under-recognized, fortunately, so not crowded.
Beautiful, easy hike. Great for the little legs as you can customize length and trails are nice and clear!
Nice place for a leisurely hike. Its pretty close to the main road, has a few parking spots. Some nice scenery and it isnt long at all, probably can do the entire loop in 30 minutes. Had little bridges, creeks, trails. Its a nice departure from life into some wilderness nearby, without worry about getting lost.
Beautiful place for a walk. Too bad one of the people we were with had there car broken into while we were out walking. Mind your valuables!
This is almost my favorite place on earth.Enjoying the nature, but still taking two kids (in a twinstroller) with me is the best thing I could wish for.Although not all the paths are stroller approved, I have done them all - its not easy, but not impossible. Also a great place to take a run.In 6 months going almost every week, Ive never spotted a bear or other dangerous animal.Lots of various paths to choose from (easy - medium - difficult) and easy reachable with the car.Dogs are allowed on a leash.
Good hikes for all, not very long but there is flat and if you choose hilly.
Small and nice preserve. Some trails still closed.
Quiet, well wooded with excellent trails and facilities. The viewing spots marked on the map were a bit disappointing as were either socked in with overgrowth or was simply a view of a field. Nevertheless a great option for a short walk in nature.
Absolutely fantastic. Never too crowded, great trails.
Great hiking right in Sammamish
Love this park bring your dog its lots of fun
The trail was perfect on a fall day. Fog above the trees, colorful canopy, and a low occupancy.
My sons friend had a birthday party here and they had a blast.
Great trail and hike for biginners. I enjoyed the trail. Its not flat terrain a little ups and down. Good morning walk.
Lovely 179-acre former-farm-turned-preserve just off Redmond-Fall City road (202). Features 3+ miles of mostly flat crushed gravel, dirt, and some paved trail (some ADA-accessible) and boardwalk. The trails pass through meadows, wetlands, and second/third growth forests of moss-draped big leaf maples, vine maples, alder, and Douglas fir. There are a lot of nurse stumps which may capture the attention of some young naturalists. Exceptionally well signed at every trail intersection - you cannot get lost! Lots of birds. I also heard frogs and caught fleeing sight of deer (per the signs, black bear also frequent the preserve). Theres a gravel parking lot for maybe 10 cars (no fee or pass required). Very clean vault toilets. A few picnic tables and benches scattered around, too. Dogs allowed - strictly on leash - and there are doggie bag stations. Perfect leg stretch and a nice alternate destination if other local parks are crowded.
Great fall scenery, moderately difficult hiking/walking trails...
Great trails, clear signage, variety of areas to hike through. Love that its not off-leash.
We brought our 3yr old and 1yr old and barely explored but the areas we did discover were absolutely perfect. This is a fantastic area to escape the hustle and bustle of city/suburban life. Even when the parking lot was full the reserve was Serene and peaceful
This is a hidden gem. Really nice trails, great scenery, quiet. Nothing extra. Just peaceful. Great place for an early morning hike.
Beautifully maintained preserve with lots of trails for running and hiking. Great place to bring your pups as there are lots of poo bag dispensers and garbage cans available throughout the area. This is not an off-leash dog area but be aware that there are definitely off-leash dogs here during the day. I have encountered this every time Ive been here. If you have a dog that is hesitant or uncomfortable with other dogs, just be cautious.
Small parking area was full when I tried to stop.
Love this place, quiet and serene and lots of trails to explore. Also well marked - you can totally customize your walk in the woods - short or long depending on how you feel that particular day and this offers that.Be careful turning in and out from/to high speed 202 - especially left turn is tricky since there’s no turning lane.
Went here for a walk/hike during Snowpocalypse 2019. Got slightly and pleasantly lost, but I agree thats normally impossible. The trails have very little grade but are relatively long. There are short hillside jaunts if you need a little variety.
Cute hidden nature preserve. The junctions are numbered and theres a map at each one so its easy to get around. Really great for kids.
A beautiful walk through Meadows, woods and hillside trails all mapped out and easily navigated by cute little maps at each trail intersection. You can choose your difficulty of walk as each trail is rated by grade (slope). The greenery is lush and the Meadows full of tall grass. A true escape to nature!
Beautiful natural trail
Nice little nature walk with numbered trail intersections. We doing (in mid May) that there were a few ripe salmonberries on the higher branches of some bushes; it also looked like they probably get eaten pretty soon after they become ripe.A perfectly fine walk, but nothing special compared with other sites in the area like tiger mountain.
A fantastic place for an easy hike right between Sammamish and Redmond
Good place for short walk and relax
Great place to walk or run both solo or with your dog. Minutes away from the city it feels like you are in a forest! The clear maps let you pick the grade you want to attempt and mileage. The wildflowers are a welcome treat in summer
I was dog sitting and I took the dog for a walk here and it was really nice!! Not too busy and very well maintained while still looking very natural.
Perfect for short hikes with the family. Several trail sections need vegetation trimmed as they are almost blocking the way.
Fantastic hidden jem just off highway 202.
Wonderful place to walk your dog, jog, hike or just stroll at your own pace.
Its a nice, quiet park right in the very built-up city of Sammamish. The meadows are lovely, and there are lots of beautiful flowers and mushrooms on the hillsides. I love taking my old dog here for an evening stroll - its really relaxing. No fancy views, but no pushy crowds, instagrammers, or exercise nuts, either.
Great little hike. Great for family and dogs.
Its awesome
Beautiful. Hiking trails. Walked my dog. Low traffic use on the weekends. Beautiful!
Well groomed trails. As a woman I feel safe here. Great place to walk your dog, on leash!
Easy family trail, great for dogs also:)
This is a wonderful scenic hike. Well more like a walk. Aside from a steep switchback, the trail is actually pretty flat and easy. The stream ran clear this last time I visited, and the bridges looked charming.
Great walking trails and some tree cover on a sunny day.
It is beautiful! Also fun for encouraging little ones, and adults, to get out and explore nature!
Not many know that less than 15 mins from Microsoft and 10 minutes out of downtown Redmond lies a little secret hideaway called the Evans Creek Preserve. I live in the valley here and can attest to the wonderful sense of peace just off off busy Redmond Fall City Road at this park. The walking trails are easy to navigate and can be done by all ages. There are short loops....point 2 for the toddlers and moms with prams, and a medium loop (about 15 mins) for beginner walkers, flat ground, and hour long hikes with hills for those who want a bit more aerobics. Trails are gravel or dirt. May be slippery when wet on hillside/forest areas. Lots of wildlife here, deer, beaver, birds, and bear! Yes bear...just down the road, less than one mile I had one in my yard at 3am in October. There is a sign that tells you to be careful. Ive always felt safe here and many others do too for walking exercise. There are huge beautiful fields and forested areas and small valley view points once you cross the bridge over Evans Creek from the parking lot. A small steep slope from the parking lot but doable for most. May be difficult for wheel chair access but can be done for the short loops. Not paved. Have fun and enjoy the natural old-growth forests and marshland that are dissapearing fast.
The hike is about 3 mile. Enjoyed the walk, watch out for insects.
So peaceful
Great mild trails, perfect for little legs to explore nature. We came on a frosty morning (16 - 24 degreese?) But the kids toughed it out to explore the awesome trails and water features. Ill have to add some photos of our morning here when I get a chance.Really great place with tons of open space for the kids to run around and explore nature. Well be back here often!
Love going to the park with my kids and dog. I prefer to go in from the lower trailhead to avoid the hills.
I just love this place for small hikes with my dog. Be aware some ppl dont walk with lishes on the dogs.
Simple yet beautiful starter walk!
This is a great place to visit if you need a peaceful walk in nature. There is a trail up to the Plateau entrance if you want a little more of a hike. There are treed areas, open spaces, a few tables to sit at and a restroom. The parking can be a little tight on a sunny weekend. If youre in to Geocaching there are a few caches there. Many of the bridges are from Eagle Scout projects which I think is wonderful. Youll see other people there pretty much anytime youre there, but its big enough that it doesnt feel crowded. There is wildlife present so dont be alarmed if you see deer or a coyote at dusk.
A surprising gem! Its a true and real hiking trail close-by to Redmond and Sammamish.
Neat place to hike for beginners. Its pretty and fairly flat.
