If youre looking for a short time and some outdoor exercise, this is the way to go. Bikers, hikers, and the occasional unicyclist (from the YMCA Unicycle Club) frequent these trails all times of the year.As an added bonus, you are rewarded with an amazing view from the top overlooking most, if not all, of Rapid City.Definitely a place to try out if you havent already done so, just keep a lookout for the occasional rattlesnake during the summer months.

This is a great place to take a short little hike. You can see all of Rapid City from top of M Hill. Be courteous to others as youre going up and down the hill. There are mountain bikers that are riding the trails as well. Also a great place to take your dogs.

This is the greatest hill. Other hills, are just awful, terrible. But M-hill is a big, beautiful hill, and listen, Ive been to every hill. There isnt a hill I havent been to and let me tell you something. The other hills... not that great, not that good. Rapid City has the best hill. China thinks their hill is the best. Let me tell you something about China. China doesnt have a single hill. Believe me, Ive been there. They used to be killing us with hills. Billions and billions of hills. When I got elected I promised our hill would beat Chinas, and look at M-hill. For the first time in 75 years, we now have the best hill. Beautiful. People say OhHhHh DoNaLd, EuRoPeS hIlL iS BeTtEr, SwEdEn HaS tHe BeSt HiLl NoW. Wrong. Swedens hills are fleeing the country, its a disaster. The holes come in, and the hills move away. They want to come here I say No-nope, I dont think so. We already have an M-hill and if the other hills want to compete, theyre going to have to do it LEGALLY, okay? LEGALLY. So, y-yeah Id say M-hill is the greatest hill ever, but we can get better, we can go even higher. Democrats say M-hill isnt the best hill, the hill just got 10 feet taller, okay? They want to say M-hill isnt the best hill, fake news okay? M-Hill. Is. The best hill-No no no Im not finished, you sit down ok? You sh sh sh okay, CNN. No no, Shhh. M-hill is the best hill in the world, maybe ever. Ok, first question, Fox news.

TLDR: poorly marked trails, beautiful sceneryThe map at the parking lot incorrectly identifies the trail head and the signage along the trails is rather confusing. Several spots along the trail require some imagination to find the actual trail. Once I crossed the first ridgeline, the path was very clear. The trail difficulty is moderate in most places with only a few spots having steps greater than 12. Loose gravel and sand along with fallen branches along the path so those with limited mobility may want to stick to the gravel road. The views of downtown Rapid City are gorgeous at sunrise and sunset . There is a clearing at the top if the hill that allows an almost 300 degree view of the city.
