This was a fun stop on our vacation! I would say its a must stop! The tour guide was fun and our group liked her. There isnt room for social distancing. The walk to the cabin isnt bad and is pretty easy. I cant explain the phenomenon. I tried at first to figure it all out. I gave up and just enjoyed in the mystery. I love it!
I think it was worth it. We just stopped on our way to Mount Rushmore. We got really lucky someone didnt show up so they put its in right away. It was definitely worth it would love to take the kids next time.
This place was a fun stop. Wouldve liked more activities to do while there but the real highlight of the tour was our guide Carol. She was adorable and provided a laugh or two. She takes great photos.
We honestly were blown away by the experience. My husband has been wanting to go here for a long time and we were finally able to make that happen. Our kids were just as blown away as we were and had a great time! It is such an extraordinary place to visit and you cant even explain what is happening. If you are able to go then you definitely should. There are so many things that you cant even explain and well just keep you wondering not only when youre there but once you leave. Our tour guide was not only funny but just a great guy to have as our guide. The kids really enjoy doing the geo find at the end of the tour also. They even have a small little gift shop.
As long as you dont get nauseous, as someone I know did you will have a good time!! It defies the laws of anything that is level. Very well worth seeing, but you will have to drive down a gravel road to enjoy it.
2nd experience here. Remember all the fun last time. This time felt rushed through each room with people waiting at the next spot and one of the presentations did not happen this time around. What is labeled as an hour tour was 35 minutes long. It is definitely entertaining for children and adults and would go again hopefully lasts longer with smaller group size (we were pushed into an earlier group than we had reserved why is unknown) Add in when I reserved our spot it said 1000-1100 if this is incorrect when reservations are made it should show correct information on what is being paid for please
I really liked this place. Plays tricks on your eyes and body! Fun for the whole family. Any age. Makes you feel semi sea sick, but in a good way. Lol, I recommend trying it.
Large groups from all over in tight spaces without masks... during a global pandemic, in one of the most infectious states in the country. Please implement a basic mask policy.
I was expecting a complete tourist trap, but this place was actually pretty neat. The admission prices were reasonable and the tour lasted 30-40 minutes. Overall, Im glad we stopped....the Cosmos Mystery Area exceeded my expectations and my kids claim it was one of their favorite parts of our trip to the black hills area.
Our first trip to cosmos was this past weekend. We went with a small group, including our two young kids. Its a fun experience, but I am not sure I believe in all of the conspiracy theories. Its a fun house in the woods with some interesting experiences related to gravity. I would not recommend for anyone who gets nauseated easily or has motion sickness. The unlevel cabins and confined spaces can make it a bit difficult to find your bearings. I think its worth one trip, but not sure we would return.
Interesting place. Strange gravitational pull straight down towards the center of the Earth. (Im doing mystical spirit fingers in your general direction) Really well done optical illusion. Bring the kids. Leave the grandparents with hip/knee replacements in the RV, with A/C on if you like em.
My kids loved this place. The gudes were well versed and a lot of fun. Even with some of the COVID restrictions we had a great time.
Pretty crazy area a good place to bring the kids I would highly suggest not to bring anybody 3 years and younger its just strange and hard for them to walk around. As well as you kind of get busy my wife is epileptic and we had to stop because it was causing auras otherwise its really beautiful place and a good place to bring the family
This was such an awesome place. Ive wanted to go since I was a kid and finally made it with my own children. We all loved it. So glad there was parking in the shade and cool weather as we traveled with pets.
Better go and see for yourself. Ive been a few times now and it doesnt disappoint. Better practice your balancing skills before you go
I wasnt sure what to expect, but it was pretty amazing! It will mess with your equilibrium and you could feel queasy. My mother applied some motion sickness meds afterwards and we all wanted a cool drink! Completely worth it for my family. We had a fantastic time. And, pay for the geode cracking. Worth it, and my kids got awesome geodes! We also did one bag of gem mix in the gem mining (the emerald sized bag). My rock hound daughter bought a bag (aged 11) and loved it, the rest of us wished wed done a bag. Overall, everyone needs to do it once at least. (If you have ear issues, sadly, this is not more you. My father had to go back after the first part as it was messing with his ears to much. He has Menures)
Reasonably priced and the tour guide was good! Not a great place to go right after eating if you have a queasy stomach. There was a handful of poorly behaved children and adults in our tour that took some fun out of it.
Great first experience! This area is a blast for fun physics and families. The area is right off the highway. There is plenty of parking and unfortunately this location is not wheelchair friendly nor people that have difficulties walking inclines. This is a fun and definitely a wow factor. I cant say to much other then that it was worth the experience.
We had a blast here. Better than I expected. Even my teenager said Great choice, dad. That was fun. As we left. WIN!
We were encouraged to reserve spots and pre-pay online, but then still had to wait in line when we arrived. It was pretty busy and they only had one ticket line opened up. We ended up missing our tour, and couldnt wait the 50 minutes for the next one due to our schedule. Although we didnt see much, it still seems like a very cool place! We will try to make it back to check it out before we leave town, but will be sure to get there about 30 minutes early.
This is very fun and interesting. If you get sick easily from being unbalanced be prepared to not feel well. I felt as though I could vomit at any time in the house and had a headache for a couple hours after leaving. It is still very fun for kids. Mine enjoyed it immensely and did not get bothered by the unbalanced feeling.
Fun attraction like others I remember from my childhood. Glad that places like this are still around so my kids can experience them as well.Perspective bending illusions make this an interesting place to visit. If you get motion sick, or have balance issues, you might want to stick to the geode area.
It’s a cool place, everyone there was really nice and my tour guide was funny, but add warnings about motion sickness. my mom, grandma, and i had to step out because we felt really nauseous and sick. please tell people about this before they pay.
Prepare for an interesting time out or should I say in? This place will be intriguing but will guarantee a slight dizzy and unbalanced feeling for a couple of days! The friendly staff is worth the Cosmo time .
Jake is the tour guide! He was our tour guide! Hes a college student and very easygoing. He said there is 3 hotspots in the area but he should have said 4 because he is one of them! made our first experience funny and memorable. Thank you for the memories!
So much fun! Would definitely come back again. My tour guide was amazing!
Pretty cool family experience. My wife absolutely loves this place. Very interesting guided tour.
This is the 2nd time Ive visited. The 1st was 20+ years ago and was memorable enough to take my 12 and 8 year old children this weekend. This place sparks a ton of curiosity. We all enjoyed it very much.
Cool little place to tour that’s a good mix of mystery but still family friendly. make sure you bring some cash because our tour guide Isabelle was amazing!
Jake was awesome and entertaining. A great way to keep the kids busy and the adults nauseous! Haha. In all seriousness this was a very fun once in a lifetime experience for us who visit South Dakota on a rarity. Very fun, glad we found Cosmos!
The tour guide was amazing and energetic, the experience was well worth the wait.
Maggie kept the group entertained and mystified the whole tour. Good time for everyone. FYI... if youve been Dont go...
We always like going here when we go to sturgis. Just went to crack a few geodes this time but always fun
A great place to take your kids. They’ll have a blast. Gem mining is great too. Expect to spend a couple hours here max.
We loved the mysterious energy and had fun exploring! Tour guide was fun Our son turned out to be pretty honest after the chair test...lol
My friend and I had a great time! All the activities were super interesting and fun! 10/10 would recommend! Our tour guide, Michael, made it even better with all his jokes!
Came here for the second time today (first was 5 years ago) and didnt have the same experience sadly. I dont remember our tour guides name, but we got stuck with the only staff member we saw not wearing a mask. It was also really confusing because i couldnt tell him apart from the rest of the tour because he didnt have a uniform on or anything to tell him apart. The only reason i gave it the second star is because our geode helper was very nice and wore her mask.
Very cool experience, the staff is very friendly well worth a stop.
Great tour guide and will make you question things.
Fun place. Im sure its fake and a mix of optical allusions and whatnot but its still fun. We had a blast. But be warned its not for those with weak stomaches. It can make you sick
A lot of fun crazy fun would go everyday but I cant Im poor recommend for everyone all ages
Very interesting and mind boggling. A must see and experience.
Put this on your list of stuff to do when you visit Keystone. Unless you get car sick easily.
This place is a fun experience for the whole fam. It really messes with your senses and is a unique feeling... well, unless you get buzzed often...
This place is so freaky! My kids loved every minute of it! Cant wait to go back!
Me and the kids had a blast. Definitely worth taking the tour. The girls also did a geode and gem mining.
This place is always a great stop while in the hills! Super fun and never disappointing!
My tour guide was absolutely amazing and even if he didnt think his jokes were funny my kids and I thought they were hilarious..
Very unique family fun, size of group was a little bigger than i would have liked kids werent able to do all the things but still had a blast
Super cool place! The whole family enjoyed it!
It was an awesome experience. Had so much fun.
Everyone NEEDS to go here! One of the most amazing places Ive been. Tons of fun for the kids and whole family.
Super fun. The kids loved it. Its a must try at least once in your life.
This was fun. We had a large group, so we didnt have to worry about social distance. Many fun photo ops during our half hour tour.
Restrooms were filthy. And rushed atmosphere
Had a blast and the kids enjoyed it! If you have trouble with your balance its not for you... Recommended.
Hands down one of the coolest places you could ever go visit! If your heading to visit Mount Rushmore it is a must to stop at Cosmos Mystery Area. Looking at pictures can not describe what its really like standing there watching and experiencing the effects that gravity is putting on your body. Kids will also love the experience!
Fantastic stop for the family! Lots of memories and souvenirs to bring home.
Was different made me feel drunk but this 0lace is cool
This place is spectacular. It is definitely a must if youre in the area! Youre in for a treat! They ask you dont post pictures to ruin the surprise for others.
This was fun, something cool to see while you are out at the rally. Taylor was a funny guide, thank you!
Very interesting place indeed. A unique experience for the family. Well worth the trip.
Really interesting. Tour guide was great! This tour requires walking up hill and on uneven surfaces.
Made me Sick but still really cool .
This place was fun!! The tour guide was adorable, she really tried so hard to get everyone to interact. Ive always wanted to see one of these vortex houses, and it was very cool!
Fun experience. Kids enjoyed it
Very amazing and challenging spot. Worth the stop.
This was the only place I regretted visiting. We were in a group of 20 so noone got the full experience...the group after us only had 6 people...I feel 10 should be the max size for groups. We wouldnt have minded waiting 15 mins for the next time slot to ensure everyone got to experience it fully. I wont be visiting again. Gave the second star because Isabelle was awesome...otherwise would have been 1 star.
Its a fun little tour to experience! My daughter-in-law took me there on our day together when I visited. If I lived in the area, I would definitely recommend it to anyone asking about something fun to do. Also, theres a very friendly Great Pyrenees in the lobby! Thanks for the great time!
Fun fun fun for the hole family. Did i say fun?
This was fun and really crazy the Hot spots feel like your leaning. Kids had fun digging geodes.
STOP what your doing, get in your car and check this AWESOME place out! My son and I agreed this was the highlight of our vacation (even more than the $200 helicopter ride ). This place was so trippy, we went twice. On our second vist we brought skeptical Grandpa and by then end of the tour he was a believer!
This place is one of the spots on earth where laws of gravity doesn’t work like you knew it. I strongly recommend this place for family fun. I didn’t want to give much away as you need to feel and witness the force of Gravity. This is not an optical illusion. Older people need to watch as gravity is very strong and you can’t control you body as you would on land. MUST see and visit this place if you are around here.
Really cool experience. The tour is great.
I have been to Cosmos many times. Its is a fun novelty. However. In July of 2020, in the midst of the COVID19 2nd wave. The Cosmos did NOTHING to promote or inforce social distancing. We were is a group with children who ran about touching everything and everyone. I was disappointed with the total lack of concern for public health and safety.
This place is cool, the staff is friendly and fun, and the visit was enjoyable until we all started getting sick. There are plenty of other reviews on how cool the tour is, so I wont repeat. WARNING though..if you get motion sickness or are sensitive to odd visual perspectives, you might want to skip this tour. We lasted about 20 minutes and had to leave. Oh, and the road going in has a few rough spots, so take your time. Easily passable, just take your time.
This was so much fun!!! It will really mess with your mindAlexis was a great tour guideAlbert the gift shop dog was really fluffy and cute too!
Our guide rocked, wish I could remember her name. This was a cool experience. May rethink going if you get motion sick easily though...
It might make you dizzy but well worth it
A great time. Our tour guide, McKenna was amazing and me and my family had a wonderful time. Very entertaining watching the parents move around this area during the tour. 10/10 do reccomend
Have always loved this place. It is very interesting.
Way cool so glad we stopped!
A place unlike any other. Ive been to other countries and places that had me stunned, but this place was something special. Absolutely amazing.
It was cool. You get dizzy. Steong on your brain
I started the tour watching every little stunt and by the time we left the first station I was sure I had it figured out but when water and tennis balls started acting contrary to the laws of physics I gave up and just enjoyed the tour. Sure there are several Carnival Sideshow gimmicks going on but Underneath It All there is something truly mysterious happening.
