Great park if you are looking for an adventurous walk. We saw plenty of little critters. Much of the park trails are unpaved so be ready for potentially dirty shoes.

Wonderful place to walk and enjoy the botanical gardens. A must do while in Punta Gorda!

What a wonderful quiet getaway. My wife and I had a lil lunch date together here and I am so happy the park is even better than the last time I was here, 5 for quality

This park is beautiful and had a decent trail. We had both our dogs, which enjoyed the nice walk. For the most part it was pleasant. Until we notice an older man, upper 60s, that kept following us, it seemed. At first we didnt think nothing of it until it was very noticeable that he was following us. We came back to where we started and had parked our vehicle. Used the provided water hose to give our pups more water before we left and all of a sudden there was that man again. We watched him walk pass our car and head for the sidewalk by the road and by the time we got loaded up in the car the man had came up behind the car, taking a picture with his cellphone of our license tag. I dont know what this was about but we will definitely not be going back to this place. Not when youre followed by an unknown man when you didnt do anything to warrant this behavior.

A lovely little walk through the scrub of Florida

The garden at the trail head is beautiful. Everything is maintained by volunteers called Green Thumbs. There are islands with themes like a butterfly garden, a succulent garden, etc. the trail is a big loop that can be easily walked in 45 minutes even if you stop at all of the observation points. There are lots of educational signs explaining plants and birds. There are two parking lots each with a trail head so if you are meeting someone there be specific about which parking lot you’ll meet them at. One is at the corner of Bal Harbor and Aqui Esta and the other one is closer to the Fire Station on Aqui Esta.

Green thumbs. A group of us work there every week. Weeding. Pruning. Watering. Always looking for more smiling faces. Come join us.

Lovely pathways for which to traverse. Beautifully kept. Little short in length but worth it. Active Osprey perch. Many birds to see. Lovely space.

Nice little place. If weve had rain it has a tendency to flood in one area. Mosquitoes can be horrible, it is a swampy area right next to a waterway. Bromeliad garden is beautiful and the topiary

The park was so quiet and not much traffic.The wild life was a added bonus. Sometimes they have small vendors with food and thats awesome.

Well maintained, peaceful, quiet. Pleasant to walk on the trail and sit on one of the benches.

WELL, I hate to say anything negative but its not much of a nature park. As youre walking you have highway noise and see condos and houses on the other side of the trees. We went Jan.27th and there was alot of limbs & brush piled up along the trail that was from branches being trimmed. Was dead & dreary. The only pretty part was where you parked your car. There are some pictures of birds but the glass in the frames were broken. Looked old & unkempt. The trail needs some tlc.

It has some nice floral arrangements and a trail but not much more that I could tell. Free parking

Nice picnic area, clean with some shade. 1/2 Miles walking trail.

If your looking to go explore in the wild or see cool animals this is not the place to go. The vegetation is pretty but the suburban world behind it is all still visible. If you want a place to walk your dog or jog its an alright place. As a bonus there is a dock where you could fish with a couple of people. This would be a cool safe place to go on an adventure ( if you know what I mean ) as a teenager. Only downfall is it is thick with Mosquitos.

Lots of bugs, lol, that was the most lively thing we saw outside of birds, but it was still a nice walk. Clean throughout, beautiful garden areas. Kids and us had fun.

The park seems like it would be a nice place for a walk but the trails are flooded and unpassable.

Great little park! Had fun and met new friends while volunteering to help spread mulch.

If you havent seen this place, go during the week, in the morning during the summer, in the afternoon during the winter. I promise you its well worth it!

Interesting location - fid not see any wildlife except for a couple of birds, most likely due to the time of year.

Nice trail. Dog friendly. There are stations with poop bags at both ends of the trail for your convenience!

This is a large park..in PGI. But Park can be improved.. By adding more places to sit.. A covered place to eat ..And bathrooms..

Couldnt stop, parking lot is TINY! we have a small camper & no way we could park or turn around. Nice.

My dogs love this park and trails. The PGI greenthumbs are gardeners extradinare.

They keep it very nicely landscaped but its too in the middle of everything. Nice for a quick walk but not really what I would call nature.

Enjoyable little park! Short trail, but long enough to take your mind off of things if you have a break in your day. Trail is level (except for a couple small wooden bridges) but mostly bumpy rocky fossil shell fill so not suitable for anyone who has trouble with non-paved surfaces. The park is marshy and the trail is flanked by short palms and other foliage but the trail is a bit raised so I saw no flooded areas. However I haven’t walked through during the rainy season yet.Two small parking areas, with the one in the NW corner having some tables and benches on cement walks, and a cute butterfly/topiary garden. Has at least one bicycle rack. Even if you’re not walking the trail the NW corner is a very pleasant place to sit and eat your lunch or read. This relaxing area is wheel chair accessible, though parts of the garden are not.

Sweet little trail to hike. Only about a mile. Fishing pier is small but shaded.
