Fun place to hangout. Brought my mom and a couple dates here.Although the pool tables arent open die to the virus, the games are still in use.
Family owned. Friendly and good cocktail service. Well liquor is a little over-priced so spring for mid-shelf instead
My favorite bar! Great staff, even better music, tasty food and good vibes all around. Room for large groups, and outdoor, covered seating. A great reading bar if youre into that. Also pool tables!
One of my go to bars! Good drinks, pinball tables and pool, everything I want in a bar.
Had hoped they still had Brats here, they do not. But tacos were great and Peanut Butter Porter on tap is amazing.
Bartender was awesome! Nice mini arcade, good drinks.
Im honestly torn on how to write this review. I love this bar like a second home, so I selfishly dont want people to come steal my weekly barstool.Despite its rough and tumble exterior, they have great wine and anywhere with bar counter snacks holds a soft spot in my heart. Its a true taste of old Portland with the right level east side charm.
Pinball machines, including Mars Attacks. Good beer, bad food.
Casual spot to have a few drinks. There are a few arcade games and pool. Younger crowd on weekends
The place has a great atmosphere and their pool table is cheap. Unfortunately the bartender girl is absolutely rude and does not know how to make cocktails. Out of three classic cocktails we try to order, only one came out at least tasting somewhat similar to what it is supposed to be. It is incredible that they don’t even know how to make a LIT and then if you make the mistake of asking what they put in it she would give you attitude and tell you “that’s how we do it here.” The guy was nicer, but if you go there just stick to beers.
This place has a very friendly staff. Has pool and pinball machines too.
Enjoyed playing some bar games (pool and foosball) with friends here. All games were .50 cents to 1 dollar to play. There were two large TVs with sports on and an open, U shaped bar with lots of seating. Also, for the summer and the brave souls in winter, there are some outdoor tables. I would like to come back and play more games with friends sometime.
Loved my time spent here.. We won a prize everytime we opened an egg. Thank you Jeds Mom for the Bracelets. We will take them home to Ohio and share with everyone.. The bartender was a Blast.
DELICIOUS tacos, solid bar on the east side with good pours for the price.
The bartender was amazing!!
There is no service at the tables. You have to pay the bartenders for a ticket that you have to take to the cook yourself if you want to eat.The nachos had exactly 3 pieces of meat. And, its dirty.
Cheap drinks, good service
Hipster vibe, expensive drinks with rude service. Pour was substandard.
This place is awesome. Dont come here and make it lame. Be cool here and have a good time.
Hand made tortillas...bbq brisket tacos...nothing beats this combo!
Worst experience ever always eyeballing us and rushing us out just beciuste we were Latinos just awful
Strong drinks and fun games, but they don’t have Bratwurst.
I think I found one of my new favorite bars!! The Wurst is super spacious, has a couple pool tables, an awesome variety of arcade games including Skee Ball, and a very attentive bartender! Im so excited to visit again in the near future!!
Ill keep coming back here for their cheap tacos and quesadillas. Some of the best Ive had in town. Big screen sports TVs. Good seating area.
Note to self; don’t go into the unisex bathroom with more than one person. My pregnant wife and I went into the unisex bathroom and immediately got kicked out. It would be nice if there was signage to let you know that was a kick-out-able offense. We went there earlier in the day and the bartenders seem like they don’t actually want customers.
Second time visited love the feel of the place and great price on some delicious nachos.
My friend who is 49 forgot her ID and was kicked out, I know bartender was doing his job but he wasnt very nice about it. At least she could sit outside at the tables.
Fun bar to play old-school games in!
Odie the bar tender was extremely rude. I will be following up with management tomorrow on this one. We asked him a simple question, what two deschutes beer do you have on tap. He proceeded to point to the chalk board, on the other side of the bar. Basically annoyed we asked him a simple function of his job. We asked him he if could just tell us? We saw what one of them was. He seemed very put off by this. We put our order in. I told my friend wow, we get better service at Doug Fir and RonToms. They can at least speak to their product they are selling. Odie than proceeded to kick us out. Ripped our beers out from our hands after he just gave them to us. We frequent this strip of bars on burnside often. I would recommend Doug Fir and RonToms over this bar. Complete trash here. I wish I video recorded our interaction with Odie. He was completely out of line. There are way too many cool bars in Portland to waste time at this one!! Tonight’s experience was bad!!Updated reaponse to owners response. We did not call him that at all. Thats a lie. We did not stay and intemidate him either. We asked why he was acting like this. We both were perplexed. He asked us if we were keeping the tab open or close it. My friend said close. Odie said close it? And I said absolutely close it. Thats when he ripped the drinks from us. Your business has a lot of customer service complaints. So maybe at some point you need to hold your staff accountable for thier actions. Odie was out of line and treated us poorly. Im not going to waste my time with reviews and emailing your company if we called him a name and got kicked out. But this was not right how we were treated. We arent stupid either, Of course if you cuss at someone you will be asked to leave. Which we didnt do. Odie couldnt handle the criticism of his poor customer service.
It is in a pretty centralized location in terms of bar-hopping and in terms of getting food. The bar itself is slightly run down that has that old bar smell you know like a locker room if a locker room were a bar. The menu is pretty limited most say appetizers. The Martian what I was there was your very typical bartender who was borderline grumpy decent service a lot of options for boozing but otherwise a very mundane run of the mill sort of establishment
Good place but they need to repair there games. They always have at least a couple games that dont work.
I like to go here late afternoons for Taco Tuesday, but now they have a new bartender for that shift. He is the worst. I came in yesterday, sat at the bar and apparently, became invisible. I never got any tacos, or beer, or even an acknowledgement that I would get service at any point. I really hope the other bartender comes back, she was awesome and amazing.
Short pool tables, overpriced pinball, no Galaga
Buddy didnt have his ID, instead of just not letting him in they didnt sever any of us 3, and when we came back later they wouldnt serve just us 2 who had ids. Could be an awesome spot but Ill never know cuz pony tail guy has an issue and they kinda treated us like homeless tweakers instead of telling us what was going on. They have ski bowl and arcade games so it seems cool but 1 star because of the rude treatment.
You only seem to get good service here if you know the bartender
Great place with great arcade games! It could be perfect if it had a pinball machine, but we still had fun!
Great for a quick drink while bar-hopping Portland but also great for staying awhile w/ $1 pool and a host of other fun arcade games! Personable service till legal close at 2am even on most weeknights.
Love all the games & very tasty nachos/quesadillas
Dropped in after a show...great place...excellent staff and service...
Good drinks, old school games, friendly crowd
It lives up to its name.
I straight up do not like that bar tender who wears his shirt open to expose his hair chest and medallion -- he creeps me tf out and I dont like his service. The rest of this place is great, great (pricey) games, decent beer, and pool tables
Atmosphere was great, our bartender was polite and attentive. I asked him for a coffee drink with alcohol and he threw something together that was delicious. The elk brat was amazing, and the pretzel with cheese sauce was pretty good.
Celebrated my birthday here and it was EXACTLY what I wanted. We had about 25 people and the bartender took care of our group like a champ. They have a good selection of beers on tap and the cocktails looked good although I didnt have one personally. This place is also known for their sausages, which didnt take too long considering the large group size, and no issue there. Granted, theyre not gourmet, but good for while youre watching the game, or playing pool. Speaking of games, they have a couple pool tables for $0.75, and a row of video games to break up the time. Centrally located, not busy at all on a Sunday with the game on and a jukebox was absolutely perfect if youre in need of a dive.
Its fine
Terrible
I wanted to give it a three stars because I was expecting more and few of the games were broken, but I did have a pretty good night. Bartender was cool dude and the atmosphere was chill
Gave the male bartender a 100 for a 9 dollar drink and he hands me 9 dollars change. I called him out and he showed 0 sympathy and gave me correct change. Confronted him about stealing from customers and he took offense and kicked me out...good job stealing from people, avoid this place, thieves.
Great beer and great bartender. I forgot his name, sadly, but the outgoing gentlemen with the sleeve work was outstanding.
Lame self important bartenders, douchey clientele, lucky location. Big ironic Service sign
Video games, basketball and skeeball machines. Food used to be sausages but now is more Mexican bar foods. Only complaint is the door stays open and the smoke blows in at night.
Old video games, good drinks. Great low key bar. Good tvs for games.
One of my favorite dive bar in Portland. Eclectic crowd, friendly owner. Pool tables and arcade games. A must!
$2 beers, loads of bar games, excellent bar service. If looking for a good time, definitely the place to go.
Pretty cool bar, right on the fun spot of SE Burnside. They have pinball here and a good selection of beers on tap. The music playing was all Britney that night, which for the ladies in the group, really had us getting down. Will be coming back again.
Sad to see this place become “the worst” I used to enjoy coming here to play buck hunter, watch a sports game and eat a taco. Tonight the bartender asked us to “smoke” 10 feet from the door which we happily obliged. We were vaping a vanilla flavored Juul which is just nicotine. He then accused us of smoking weed when we definitely were not, and denied us entry. A hip hop show was just playing at bossanova and there was clearly a group passing a joint around in the parking lot next door which he was smelling. Long hair bun boy, you suck as a bartender, you work in the customer service industry and are terrible at it. I will never come in if you’re working. Go away. I hope ur career is short and tip less.
Nice service, some fun old arcade games.
FYI the Wurst didn’t actually sell any Bratwurst.
A fun bar with good selection of beer and liquor. A few arcade games, some pool tables, and a couple of skee ball machines are there to keep you entertained.
Great Place for bar games. Theyve got Skee Ball, duh.
Not a bad bar, it just seems like the bartenders are... Off? Not bad, not good. Just... Meh?
Reasonable prices!
One of my favorite bars in the area. Great service and 25 cent skiball!
Good beer selection and lots of fun games. Games and cheap to play as well (25 cents). Wasnt too busy on a Saturday night.
Fun spot for a late night drink and bar games - check out the skee ball and buck hunter!
The bartenders that were there Saturday night were horrible. Attitude wise...
The bartender here on Tuesday nights is the best. Taco Tuesdays rock, cant beat the price. 2 bucks a pop. BE SURE TO ASK FOR THE TACOS ON CORN TORTILLAS AMD EXTRA CRISPY!!!
Great place for a drink and big buck hunter HD. Or a game of pool.
So a group of 8 of us were visiting Portland from Canada for a bachelor/bachelorette party. We were cruising around told them I knew a place with cheap drinks and and an arcade. The second we walked in we were all IDd gave over our Canadian drivers licenses which were accepted. I ordered a few cheap tall cans gave the girl a 50 came back with change for a 10. Checked my wallet to make sure I wasnt losing my mind and let her know. When I told her she agreed without double checking and had the rest of the 50 change sitting across the top of the cash trays. We played a few games and took off didnt think much of it didnt give her a hard time. Came back 2 days later she was back on shift told us we couldnt stay because we needed passports all of a sudden. Avoid this place like the plague or at the very least confirm with the staff what youre giving them for cash.
Lots of bar games jammed into a small room. Drinks arent Bad.
I held my husbands suprise birthday party at The Wurst last Saturday evening. From the moment I contacted The Wurst about the event to the moment we left the bar, it was a GREAT experience. Kathryn handled everything for me beforehand and throughout the night, and the other bartenders were on top of their game all night and were very friendly. On top of that the drinks were Delicious!! I only had a pretzel and cheese, so for the food I can only comment on that, but I will say that was delicious!! The laid back feel with pool tables, skee ball and arcade games is perfect for a couple people wanting to enjoy a casual night or a bunch of friends getting together for a party. The venue is small, but for us that was exactly what we wanted! We will definitely be back, we cant say enough good things about the Wurst. We had a blast!!!!
Amazing owner and service..happened to walk by on vacation stopped in and she was great!
Beer selection was ok, pricing decent, but seemed to attract loud drunks inside and outside...
Everything started out fine. Our first bartender was great the food was good and the beer cold. Then I guess there was a shift change. The next bartender ignored us in favor of the day TV. I signled gim I wanted to close out twice he saw but ignired me. Then when I had to presshim he copped an attitude..
They have some games, wack a mole pool basket ball toss. Music got way too loud through out the night but its overall an alright place to grab a drink.
It was the best.
Bar games made my weekend in this place.
Unfriendly, with a rude bartender. You directly feel youre unwelcome.
The draw of this bar is the variety of games, ranging from Big Buck Hunter HD to Donkey Kong to Skeeball, though theyre not always in working order. The drinks are pretty average and the sausages are good but not great.
Awful service. The bartender is completely disinterested in customers. We wont be going back.
Cool atmosphere. Bartender with the man bun was the worst
Great tacos sassy service random people
Cheap beer should be cheap. No pinball. Update your description.
Lots of cool games.
Its ok
My new jam! Just moved to the area. Great staff!
The best!
Amazing!
Terrible service.
Great dive bar but the skee ball machines are often broken and the need to bring back the pinball machines
Good food
$1 charge for credit card transactions under $10. Makes a $6 beer (I miss old portland) $7. Plus a tip makes it $8! Shenanigans!
All kinds of games from pool to foosball to arcade!
Super cool place
It was the wurst
Good place for pool
