Cool place. You can do laps around the perimeter. There is a pedestrian bridge at the north end near Bybee, and a sidewalk on the bridge at the south end. Sometimes youll see nutria and heron in the water. Peaceful place. Campers are in the parking lot south of the softball field, which feels a little sketch at dusk. The casting lake rarely has anyone practicing fly fishing but almost always has ducks.

I met my little grandson and one of the granddaughters there today to hang out and play with him for a while. Even got my old butt on my way the slide to show the youngun how its done. LOL And by the look on my his face as I was sliding down it was very amazing for him. Its just something about being around the youngest of my three grandchildren that brings out the kid in me. Great time had by all.

Really nice park, great place for the kids to play or walk a dog. A word of warning - if your kids are on the play structure, watch out for splinters. Probably best if they dont try and slide on any of the logs. Also, probably not a very safe play area when its wet since the logs will be slick.

More children and families should coordinate play dates, game days, arts and crafts... remember our children need social skills and to be with their peers.

Although this a great nature park for kids, please be warned that the pictures online are better than the park itself. It seems from reviews that a lot of amenities are only available in summer. That might be the reason why I felt a little cheated because we went in February. But it was still a very fun park. Natural climbing structures and slides (may not be too suitable for toddlers though). A big sand pit. A shady area near the playground with gigantic trees. a nice little pond with ducks wading around. I could see restrooms nearby too. There is plenty of street parking in the residential area next to the park.

If you love ducks, geese and other water-dwelling critters, I could not more enthusiastically suggest a better place. Theres a trail of bridges through a marsh area that provides a ton of photograph-worthy entertainment. Theres also plenty of grass for your dogs, kids, or a picnic. Theres a clubhouse and several courts for playing tennis or baseball. The reservoir is pretty peaceful to sit and directly next to it is a play area thats all natural and very cool. A ton of geese flew over while I was there and landed in the ballpark. This place is awesome

Amazing nature Park for the kids and not very good for the dogs. The water area, tree climbing section and all around beauty make this place a10 start if they had that many. Some of the adults needs to learn the manners I am teaching my kids but they did not detract from our many experiences here.It is a must see for the kids in Fall and summer. Winter is great if it is dry.

The park is teeming with waterfowl, beavers, otters, fish, and has plenty of places to picnic, is wheelchair-friendly, and offers wide views of the dynamic skies (magnetosphere anomalies getting stronger recently). Dont feed the birds or other animals--it causes wildlife to stop being wild and damages sensitive wetland ecosystems.

Near perfect play park for kiddos. Honestly, just an absolute adventure land for kids. Would be perfect if it had some sort of splash pad for hot days. They do have a water feature in the kids sand pit, which helps cool them off. However, in 80 degree weather we could have used more water features. Still one of the best spots for kids to use their imagination and great for sensory seekers too. They had some type of pond but the geese were enjoying the heck out of it.

Theres Crystal Springs Creek running down the middle with a boardwalk section built across it so you can lookout for Nutria, Beavers, Cranes and of course lots of duck and geese on the many baseball fields or in the man-made duck pond! A long time fixture in Portland, this park has kept its appeal. The duck pond has been replaced by a natural water feature. The childrens park has been updated to out children more in touch with the natural world: sand and water flows, wood and rock structures, etc. There are a number of fields for sports. Also of note, the casting pond. Some use it to practice casting for fishing. Others use it for model boat sailing. My personal favorite event happens during Rose Festival, the milk carton races. Entrants race boats made from milk cartons across the pond. It a great park all summer long.

There was something for everyone. We came for a birthday part, and we hadnt been in years and I forgot how awesome it was. There was sand, trees to climb, rope to climb, slides, and space to run. We cannot wait to go back this summer to play in the splash pad. The bathrooms were decent but lacked soap, so make sure you bring your hand sanitizer! There are lots of places for parents to sit and watch. There are spots of the park that are exposed to sun, so be sure to bring sunscreen and a summer hat. There are picnic tables throughout, so bring a lunch.

Cool spot in Sellwood right off 99 E. Great nature wetland spot with wildlife to enjoy. It is over all well kept which is refreshing. There are multiple fields for playing soccer and football Im sure. Also basketball hoops, I think tennis courts also. Neat playground for kids, benches for seating. Some pretty cool walking bridges that lead over some of the wetland. I think about 8 years ago or so, me and a couple girlfriends went to visit at night. I THINK I saw a beaver while crossing over one of the mini bridges. I am pretty positive, it was a beaver... Which I think is pretty AWESOME. It gets very muddy and slippery when the rains been visiting often. So while walking around on your own time or with the pup, BE CAREFUL NOT TO SLIP! Wear good boots too lol! There is a spot for friends or groups to go and play Pétanque! Never played, but I think Ill try it sometime.

Despite the difficulty of street parking only, this place really is lovely to visit. The natural beauty of a duck-friendly creek, everlasting attraction of sand pits already outfitted with toys, and gross motor challenges of rock and log climbing make this a park you can feel good about introducing your kids to -- and still retain the convenience of a public restroom!
