Always a great run on the weekends; sadly a little less bustling with the onset of the pandemic. On the upside, its easy to park and morning runs no longer require weaving amongst wandering tourists.

Attended a Sunday night drum circle, it was definitely the definition of Portland, with the diversity of the crowd accompanied by the friendly atmosphere, I highly recommend checking it out.

I cant even tell you how lucky I feel that Portland has this place. What an awesome opportunity to be able to walk on docks along the river to form a circle with the steel bridge. It is beautiful. If your from here check it out if youre not still check it out its worth it.

Great views of the city. We love to bring friends from out of town to the Esplanade. Always a joy to see people skating in the parking lot, lots of talent. The dock is out of commission at the moment but it’s one of my favorite places to hang out in Portland.

Dangerous entrance under the bridge due to homeless camping and limited people. The location is beautiful especially with a friend. I felt nervous by myself though without many people around and only campers watching me.

Great place to start a walk!Getting a bit sketchy, the more homeless they allow to live here. People urinating, deficating and doing drugs is increasing. Sadly.

Beautiful stretch of path with bikers, joggers and walkers. Great for a slow pace bike ride due to the amount of people on the path with many places to stop. Suggest packing water bottles to fill.

The Eastbank offers the freedom to explore the bike paths alongside the Willamette River. This also has a lot of pedestrian foot traffic so be aware of people running and walking if you are on bicycles. Enjoying the view from the other side of the river is unique and fun for everyone to enjoy.

Great place for walking or jogging. Good view of the city skyline. Recently the city cut down a bunch of trees and foliage so now the traffic noise from I-5 is more loud, but with how beautiful the views are you really cant complain. Maybe it would be worth considering building a wall along the highway to block all of the incessant highway noise.

Portland is lucky to have such a lovely multi-use path like the esplanade. It can be a little crowded on days when the sun is out, with all the runners, walkers and cyclists, but the proximity to the water and convenient location more than make up for that. The Vera Katz statue is a great landmark for meeting up with cyclists before going on a big ride. Its central, and super easy for bikes to get to. My only recommendation to anyone who goes there is please dont listen to headphones to loud, youll want to hear someone warning you on your left.

I have mixed feelings about the Esplanade. On one hand, its nice to walk/run/bike along the water and there are some great views of downtown. On the other, its right next to I-5, so theres no escaping the noise or fumes. Add to that that theres a growing transient population in the area can make the place a little shady at night. Still, there is plenty of lighting.

Its a great walkway along the beginning of Eastern Portland that links notable landmarks such as the Portland Opera Company, OMSI, and Burnside Skatepark with the vibrant cultural streets of Hawthorne, Belmont and Grand Ave. The Moda Center is located just North of one side and many avenues across the river lend to easy travel while pushing some wheels or walking.

Overflowing with sewage from the portapotties. But the area away from that is perfect for the Sunday weekly Drum Circle and Portland Saber Circle (lightsaber dueling)

Wow thanks Christina for something positive. Some of the other reviews seems the folks need a sensitivity training class. Thats the problem with a lot of runners is the elitism and entitlement attitude. Bums! Transients! They are homeless human beings! Maybe we should bring a blanket or some food for the humans surviving outdoors.
