Nice park with a baseball field, large grassy area and well outfitted playground. They even have a bathroom and some picnic tables. But by far the best thing about this park is that it is one of the entrances to the trails through the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, which is a beautiful short urban hike.
Great park with wide open spaces, picnic tables, tennis/squash area, a walk to some wetlands, play area, and possibly a splash pad in the summer
Nice trail but can get busy on a Sunday early afternoon. Wasnt too bad. Great for a stroll or an easy bike ride
Huge park, offering fields for chilling on, a playground for the little one, lots of path to walk laps on. Overall it feels like a safe space to hang out.
I just walk through to get to Oaks Bottom. It seems like a nice park.
My girlfriend and I love taking our dog to this park. Its large size allows us to roam freely while avoiding other park goers.
This is a tranquil park is located along the Willamette River. There are open areas for walking and picnicking.
Great place to have a picnic but bathrooms are closed due to covid.
Always a great day with the pup at Sellwood. A little crowded on a warm Sunday but still pretty great.
Plenty of room for a long walk. Enough field area to play catch or let the dogs run.First time visiting this area it looked like a high end dog park.Almost all dogs brought here are friendly, open and social with other dogs and humans.Do use caution when bringing any leash aggressive dogs to this area. Many people will have their dogs off leash before you arrive.
Beautiful park with a nice view and trail! Also has a nice playground for kids!
Its a wonderful park with a great view of the Willamette River and downtown Portland. But to clear up any confusion, they dont sell wood there.
My first time going. Went to my hubbys company picnic. Its a very beautiful park. I love the fact its clean and very fur baby friendly. The only concern was the hornets. They was really really bad. Maybe hang the hornet traps just a thought. If the park and recreation would do it.And to the ranger who came by thanks for the laughs
Its one of my favorite places. I grew up in sellwood.
Have been coming here every summer since time immortal for a Simone family gathering, & you can immediately see the difference living in an affluent area makes, as everything is beautiful & well kept. Swimming pool, playground, rentable bbq areas, a few kinds of sports fields/tennis courts,& grassy picnic spots throughout treed trails.
Been going here my whole life. All my kidz have swung on the big swing set.
Beautiful park with a baseball field, soccer goal and playground. Very nice place to spend a little time outdoors
Held wedding there, perfectly sized church, great staff.
Beautiful park. There are picnic tables, benches, and bathrooms. Perfect place to bring kids, bring your dogs, or have a party. There is a playground, a see-saw, there are bike paths in certain areas, as well as off leash parts for dogs. There are tennis courts, baseball fields, and a horseshoe field. Great place to go
Great park for playing, and events/gathering. Lots of space and fun easy walking.
Lots of space to walk. Lots of shade for sunny days and even a shaded playground.
Nice place to play. You can play lots of sports here. And go swimming. Its a shady spot during summer, that way the playground would be safe to play on. It doesnt get too hot.
The pickleball courts were in very bad shape and covered with debris.
A lovely, densely wooded park overlooking the river. A wonderful place for playing, picnics, jogging, biking, sightseeing, whatever. There were a ton of robins flitting about today. There are plenty of benches and picnic tables. If you have kids or are young at heart, there are swings and a play structure. Come here at sunrise or sunset for magnificent views.
Always a nice place to walk the dog
A lot of older equipment here meaning that the swings and slides are bigger than they make them these days. They also have seesaws which I dont see very often very nice touch. Its in a beautiful wooded park with a nice little nature walk and field nearby. Bathrooms and some water right next door and its next to the swim center for the community. A nice regular park.
Its is such an open park and you can social distance very well!
2 tennis courts by the west side of the parks are good. But the tennis courts by the swimming pool is very dirty and uneven
Great park for a socially distanced get together. Bathrooms are currently closed, but they do have Port-a-potties
Sweet place to chill and people watch
Beautiful park with clean bathrooms.
This is a lovely park. The seasonal pool is beautiful and well kept. There are plenty of lockers and the facilities are great for summer swim lessons for kids. The park is full of tall trees, and theres a nice playground appropriate for a variety of ages. A restroom is available at the playground as well.
Very nice park and view. They also have a nice bike trail that ends in downtown. Would highly recommend!
Beautiful park to walk and or ride your bike through.
A perfect, traditional park with stands of stunning mature Doug Firs, large open lawn areas, a couple baseball fields, and a nice playground with play structures to fit a range of ages. Its a fun spot for a picnic, outdoor play, or taking a quiet stroll to enjoy the beauty of Portland. The Sellwood Community Pool is right on the south edge of the park, which is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
This park had a really large playground with lots of fun stuff in it. The kids (age 8-13) enjoyed the large slide, the tire swing, regular swings, teeter totter, and other equipment. The bathroom nearby was closed. The playground is nicely shaded. Theres a pool and a nice kids friendly hiking trail here as well.
This is a pretty big Park great for holding large events. I went there for a company party and it was pretty nice and they have some great shaded picnic areas. A huge baseball field but only a small playground. The porta potties were clean and even the restroom they have at the park. Even the grass was pretty green in some places which thats impressive during the summer time. If Im ever in the area I definitely will take my dogs here and go for a nice walk around the park
Its the best park in Portland, well Sellwood anyway, grew up in this park practically. The summertime is the best you have the pool, concerts in the park, and it offers plenty of shade in the heat, and it also has a path to Oaks park and Oaks wildlife refuge
Really neat pool, very good for the Sox and under crowd. The park has a lot of green space and good shaded areas to beat the heat. Although it is near the road, the majority of the active play areas are really well defined, and makes it is a safe place to play without worrying too much about kids inadvertently running into traffic.
Im a huge fan of parks and greenspaces
Nice spot for nature right in town and a nice trail for walking or running.
Really nice scenic park. Good for a casual hike or run.
The is one of the parks I’ve been attending for over 20 years. I find so much joy here. I enjoy the peace to get when I walk around the park!
Beautiful neighborhood place with a great kids area
Good size, good people, mostly.
I only got to see the skin of this beautiful park yall but from what I did see Im headed back really soon! That place was well kept VERY green and just the right amount of ppl so I didnt feel overwhelmed with it! Ill be sure to get some pics here!! So far so good!!! Cant wait
Had a really good time yesterday with my family yesterday evening. There was quite a bit of people, but not so many that you had to wait an hour to ride on the rides. It was nice! The workers where pleasant and helpful. This summer Oaks Parkhas specials going on all days of the week. Sunday -Sunday.
The shade from the large conifers and native deciduous trees are comforting. Extremely well kept park, and easy to get to playground. Been coming here for years.
A beautiful and well maintained Portland Public Park
Nice short hike with views of downtown. Equidistant from West Moreland and Selwood areas so a great place to Sunday. Make sure to catch the Tamale, Tamale, Tamale! Family mobile cart for some top shelf Mexican fare! Quick hike to oaks park too!
Good for all ages... Different play structures and swings for little and bigger kids
Great historic Park with Tudor charm. Swimming pool. Great play area. Lots of walking paths in ball fields. this is a large park with great amenities. There is parking available and a rentable space for parties.
Sellwood Park is really neat. Its right by the river and oaks Park amusement Park. From sellwood Park you get a pretty good view of oaks Park amusement which has roller skating, pretty fun rides, carnival games and of course my favorite sweet of all the sweets, cotton candy. The park offers trails to walk that are friendly for families, walking dogs, walking alone (as far as I know). Theres a dock you can walk out onto the river (wouldnt suggest swimming considering it is the Willamette) with houseboats. The houseboat owners are all nice for my experience, as long as youre respectful when on the dock. Ive met a lot of really really friendly people walking their dogs as well it seems like a place that people go to just enjoy themselves and easily pass on the enjoyment to others.
It is a beautiful park.
Located in a lovely S.E. Portland neighborhood. Has a playground for the littles, an outstanding community pool, tennis courts, trails, views of the city. CLEAN AND SAFE!
River access is great and lots of friendly people. Only wish for more accessible beach access.
Beautiful old huge trees as canopy over the picnic tables. Very clean and well loved park
Absolute Dog Heaven... Dogs everywhere. My Grandson loves the beach area to build sand ramps for his monster trucks... make sure to bring water shoes and inflatables.
Love the Sellwood Park. I am 70 years old and enjoyed Sellwood park and swiming pool when I was young! We joined in picnics, etc. Beautiful!
Beautiful and easy hike. Totally not haunted
Theres a public swimming pool there. Theres parking there. Theres off-street parking. All kinds of area to play. Playgrounds. Baseball diamond. Walking distance to the river. All around a good place to go
Has a fantastic playground for the kids, a pool, hoops, tennis, baseball diamonds and a huge open feild. A great place for a family park day.
Nice park! Big mature trees, nice walking trail, great views of the city and river, and playground for the kids.
Nice park! Love the trees. Love a city that employs arborists!
My favorite spot to go via all the trails! Wonderful wildlife, and I love to watch the doggies play. We are blessed to have this close in️
Its a great park, but i never saw concerts in the park there before it was different. It has a tennis court, community center, a place for children to play. Theres a lot of room to walk ones dog ir just relax.
Such an amazing park with so many things the twins I watch love! I even fell off the circle spin thing and still go back! Lol
Great park. Lots of open space, baseball fields, playground, bathrooms and oaks bottom refuge trail access. Would recommend.
Beautiful park. Great accommodations. Great activities for all ages. Great walking paths and ample free parking.
Biggest, best roller skating rink.
Very Roomy; There Is A Ton Of Things To Do Here; Picnic, Baseball,Or Just Go For A Stroll!
Sellwood park is our favorite go to park for everything! Bdays, nature hikes, picnics, playground, etc. Lots of sunny spots, lots of shady spots. Space to run.
Nice park. Very quiet and makes for great bike ride to Portland.
Sunset dates. Summertime grass and breeze. What a pleasant spot for throwing a disc or laying in the grass.
My dog bailey loves this park. Well maintained, offers alot of activities for the whole family. And has some amazing views of the city and oaks buttom wildlife park
Shady playground with cool stuff for the kids. Picnic tables. Open fields for running around in. Tennis courts (better ones down below). Outdoor pool in the summer (with good shave ice). Trail leading to Oaks Bottom. Some issues with transients, though.
My I got hurt because it wasnt safe. And one of the slides had no side on it. Everything else is fine
Great place to take yr kids and have family time and just hang out and chill
Such a lovely lovely place to spend time, with kids or even just yourself!
I was pretty impressed with the park itself. Its a lovely setting for a day out. The toys were well kept and the kids had a good time. The bathrooms left a lot to be desired, though. No soap, no way to dry my hands. It wasnt good. Its a pretty place, though.
Great spot to take the pooch if you want something different. My dog loves the water so its her paradise.
Its an amazing park and swim pool also has open free swim in Wednesdays all summer long.
My dog loved Sellwood park. Five paws and a stick.
Great park
This is a great park with everything you need for a fun outing with the kids. Restrooms, one of the best playgrounds around, large fields for running or kicking a ball. The huge trees keep the park shady and cool in the summer too! There’s a path for walking or riding things on. Parking is decent too, both street parking and a lot on one end.
Awesome park to take your children! I love the cleanliness and pristine wildlife througout the park!
