Its a cute park, a couple ball fields, tennis courts, and a young child playground. We were here for the 10 mile race my boyfriend was running. Its a good location to set up an event like that. However, I felt there could be more benches, and his two kiddos and my kiddo, were disappointed that being such a large park, they did not have a playground for upper elementary/lower middle School kids. It left not much to be done having not brought kites thinking a park this size would have a more accommodating playground. Other than that, cute park for a picnic, event, or such.

Payson Park is a great space in Portland, Maine to play sports or just walk through. Ive played kickball, baseball, and other various sports with friends or with leagues in the park. Its available to rent for any mini sporting event you might want to have.

Great park all year round! Theres a playground for both toddlers & kids, baseball, tennis basketball courts. Fields big enough to play football, soccer, frisbee etc. Plus, ice skating & sliding in the winter. They put jumps in on 1 side of the hill for ppl to practice tricks on their snowboards & even make snow if its cold enough. My only complaint is they should add more lightposts for evening time. The baseball field & basketball courts have night time lighting, but none around the open fields

Plenty of room for sledding, snowboard jumps installed to one side, parking lot cleared after fresh snow. Our inexpensive Amazon blow-up sleds did NOT pop even though we got airborne several times going down this hill. Wicked awesome fun for all.

My little ones love it here! I love that there is both a playground and a splashpad both in one area, along with plenty of grassy area to picnic, lay out in the sun, jog/run or walk, etc. Theres a story walk that has pages to a kids book along a path to walk and read along the way. They also have a baseball field, basketball nets and free parking both in the park and along the baxter boulevard side. We come here pretty often in the summer for the splash pad/playgroup and also to sled in the winter. Great place to have a family get-together or some alone time:)

A fairly safe place where your kids can play and get some energy out. There are many aspects to the park: Playground, baseball, basketball, open fields, and other areas that i have not explored. My daughter was injured there twice, and my son (accident prone) has been hurt once while visiting. There are swings, a mini-water park area, knolls, half buried rocks to hop to/fro, a pretty good-sized play area for thosr who are looking for twisty slides and other mildly challenging obstacles for toddlers and younger children.
