Had a great night here. Saw two shows, the Showdown and the later Showdown and Dirty! If ya plan on hanging out for the later one, strap-on your smiles (no pun intended) and leave your judgement at the door; ready yourself for a blast with complete strangers at both shows. Really enjoyed the whole night and the option to attend the later show for free. Thank you Curious Comedy!

This non profit comedy club offers a variety of entertainment. From stand up to improv as well as magic shows. Both family friendly and more mature options can be found here. They also have a nice food and beverage menu available so you can eat while you enjoy the performance. Reasonably priced ticketsCheck em out for a fun time!

This was an amazing experience! Me and my boyfriend were in Portland for the weekend and wanted to try something new that would be posts of fun. So else ended up going to this comedy club that was a little pricey. IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. It ended up being like a who’s line is it anyway competition and I couldn’t stop laughing. I would definitely recommend this for when ever your in Portland!

We saw in the paper or a mention on Facebook that they were doing a new idea. In 24 hours they would get an idea, give it to 4 writers, directors, cast the actors, rehearse and present 4 plays at the end of the 24 hours. NO SLEEP! We had attended other events at the Comedy Club before so we said lets get tickets! At only$10 why not? Reservations are always a good idea as they are often sold out. They do take credit cards and have tickets on call.We had a great time!! Front row seats. The plays were very different. Funny. Good music and lighting, too. They have extended the stage from when we were there before. The seating is small tables with chairs for 2,4, or 6 depending how they are arranged. You order at the bar, get your drinks, and take a number back to your table and they bring your food out to you. They have a full bar. Food includes bowls, salads, pizzas, bar snacks and desserts. WC accessible. Easy to spot from normal traffic. No parking lot. Street parking is free at night after 7pm.

Great venue. However, Food was average and no table service. You had to order at the bar. Which was slow service. They cleared our plate and drink while I was in the bathroom which still had half a plate of food and the drink was half a glass.. They closed out our tab giving themselves a higher tip then deserved.

This was our first BUT not last visit. We went for a comedy showdown and it was hilarious!! I love that this is a non profit and anyone can participate or take classes to learn how to become a stand up comedian. The decor is really nice, I love the chandeliers and large paintings of famous comedians.

We love comedy shows and this is a hidden gem. You can walk in on a random night and get tickets cheap to a funny show. The room has a great set up for a comedy show. The marketing team is not promoting thus nearly enough once this place picks up some steam youll see some major headliners start to come in and thats what the need.

Out of all the comedy clubs in PDX, this is my least favorite because the entertainment leans towards performance and I prefer writing talent. That beings said: I did appreciate the quality bar and layout. They typically pack chairs to the fire marshal limit which I am not a fan of. The service was poignant and similar to the comedy store in Los Angeles. There is food available that looked decent as it was carried in front of us.Summary: if theatre comedy hits your funny bone, try this place out.

Went to a 7:30 show called the Comedy Showdown on a Friday night and it was definitely a blast. The improv was similar to what you would have watched on Whose Line Is It Anyways! This is the kind of place you want to go to if you want to laugh, and keep laughing until youre wheezing for air. I felt like I was almost dying (from full on belly laughter) because of how funny and witty the improvisers were. They all really shined in the skit portion of the night.I would definitely recommend going here.

Curious offers a variety of shows and classes. Most of the shows I have attended have been comedy focused, whether improv, story telling, stand up or some combination of all of the above. The venue is intimate so even the balcony seats keep you close to the action. The bartenders are quick to get everyone through during an intermission. Food is ordered at the bar and served to your table. The offerings are simple but tasty!Great place for your next date night!

This was a fun place to relax with friends and family and watch an inter-active improv show. The actors were funny, sweet, charming and very entertaining. The only reasons I’m giving it four stars instead of five is because if you want something to eat or drink, you have to order it yourself prior to the show or at intermission only as they do not have wait staff and its also hard to give suggestions when they ask for them as they usually take the first suggestion the can hear. Nice evening overall. Was only $12 pp (you can make reservations online too if you want) and I would recommend it for all 18+ people for a fun night out.

Cool setup. Their beers SUCK! Also, they sometimes have comedians who do the same skit EVERY time. I knew every punch line for Corina (transgender), that doesnt make someone a comedian for memorising an a entire skit and using it at almost every show. But the others are always great!!!!! Admission is sometimes really good priced too.

I went for the first time last night and it was great! Yes, you order your own food (its delivered to your table when ready). I think this is a good way to keep costs down and I never stood in line long. The cast was very funny--they improvised off of prompts from the audience and offered a variety of different improv games. There was live music (and live song improvs on the spot), and I was impressed with their skills. Arrive a little early and get a great seat! We will definitely go back.

I LOVE Curious Comedy Theater. I have been many times for different shows. My favorite is Comedy Showdown on Friday and Saturday nights. Show up a little early to get a good spot and get a food order in before it starts! And dont be shy to throw out suggestions! Its also a great value if you want to stay a while because they always offer for the Showdown guests to stay for the later show for free! I would also recommend purchasing ahead of time online because you save $5! Its always been funny and Ive only had one or two cringy jokes that I can think of. Curious Comedy Theater makes for a very fun evening!

They have the SAME SHOWS EVERY time. I’m sorry, it’s ok if you just go ONCE...but if you go multiple times a month, you start to realize that the people up on the stage are playing the same nine or ten games they’ve been playing FOREVER.I don’t know, I guess it just rubs me the wrong way when they do another funny bit from the plethora of games they SAY exist out there.I am not going back there. UNLESS they decide to change there outlook and improve there set list.

I came to see J Names do improv, they were FANTASTIC!For the place itself, nice small place where every seat is a good seat, they even have a tiny balcony upstairs, all that is great!Downside is the size of their bar/food offerings, they work fast and were great, but it is a very small spot and it takes a lot to get people through. I know for some of the shows they have enough room to wait on people at the tables, but for this show had more chairs and no room for that. As a result, only a few minutes after the doors opened, the line was across the place, we couldnt go back for more drinks or anything because we would have had to wait until the show started. One of the people in our group only got there a few minutes before the show started and decided to just not get a drink because of the line. When you go here, (and you should!) find out if they are waiting the tables, if they are, great, no worries. If they arent, dont come too hungry or thirsty and grab whatever you want as soon as you get inside before the line gets too bad.Ill definitely be back for a lot more shows.
