It isnt a bad area, I’ve heard of people harvesting decent sized bucks. However, it gets very busy during hunting season and there are brush piles and stands every 100 feet.

Nice little lake. Wish I had snapped a few pics for you all. Small clean lake I believe is an all sports lake. Good fishing, my Godson fishes there regularly and always takes a few home for the grill. Public launch site and a very clean lake with clear water and not overpopulated with boat and jet ski activities.

Good place to look for birds, particularly on brush piles.

It’s a nice area, however, it gets really busy, especially during hunting season, and there are stands and brushpiles everywhere. Probably not the best place to hunt.

Good location, just out far enough to be safe for rim fire squirrel hunting. The road in to every game area has been dismal and Gourdneck is no acception. Huge, deep potholes separated by 30 little ones. Where is the farmer guy who has the contract to farm the game area fields? It seems like a monthly dragging of a box blade would be enough. While theyre there they could remove the fallen trees from the main walking trail.

Beautiful, quiet, a great place for a walk during the non-hunting season. Just wear plenty of bug repellent for ticks and mosquitos!

I grew up in these woods. I prefer a walking adventure to hunting in these woods mainly for the fact that is seems everyone deer hunts here. There are a couple of fishing ponds and a few small streams on one side and a lake on the other. Besides the hum of 131 this is a great place to escape for a day.

This is a hunting area that my hunting licence pays for. Not a dog walking or dog run area. The dog can be shot by mistake. Go to the park to walk your dogs not hunting areas paid for by hunting money .

Seen paw prints larger than my open hand while hunting. I went out to hunt around 5am and I forgot something in my van so as I got to my tree stand I turned back for my van and about 2/3 of the way back I noticed large paw prints all over my tracks and they crossed mine from right to left staying in the woods crossing over the walking path I nocked an arrow and clipped my release pulling on my deloop ready for a quick shot steady listening even thou I had a super bright headlamp on my dad bought when the power went out after a minute of hearing nothing I kept walking back to my car those are the largest prints I have seen on any dog twice the size of the largest I have ever seen to date the sighting was in fall of 2015-2017 I dont remember exactly im not good with time date or nameswhen I left the woods a DNR officer was waiting at my van and I told him what I saw and he told me the cyotes are getting huge now
