Very peaceful and quiet place to just sit and enjoy a thought or twi
No cowboys. disappointing. great food tho, the adobe bricks are full of nutrients!
Its small but seems like a good resource for people curious about the areas history and nature. Grounds are nice and there is a good trail nearby.
Little gem hidden in the foothills of Pleasanton by the side of 680. Great scenic and historical place for taking a stroll.
Amazing place for a hike.
OK scenery but add one star to four due to its infield location very easy to get to
This is a great park with a lot of history. They have a lot of information about Ohlone native American days and when the area was a dairy. Great exhibits and displays. Kids on field trip enjoyed hands on learning. Great to know that the meadow lark ice cream in downtown Pleasanton was once part of this dairy operations.
Amazing historical place with hands on activities for kids
In Pleasanton this is an adorable little playground and park for the neighborhood kids ! Very welcoming and clean,
Beautiful little park with historic value, includes old homes, barn, bunk house, new updated gardens, reptile and small animal exhibit. Special features include historic native grinding stones next to seasonal creek estimated to be thousands of years old, plaques exhibiting the history and prior look of the valley before drainage was installed removing floodplains and marshes, displays on native culture and history of early settlements up through recent farming use. Additionally there are abundant native species of plants and animals, plants include stone plaques with spices and common names, native and other uses of each plant or tree throughout the park and all along its paved and gravel trail. Widely used by professional family, pet and other photographers for its picturesque little bride, buildings trees and generally nice backdrop........ also now has an additional entrance to the Pleasanton ridge park for exceptional hiking and trail running options.
Historical not just in the essence of Pleasonton Valley but the Native Americans, Spanish takeover and what became a dairy in the 1900s. Adobe rooms are reproduced to an earlier period. Docents provide tours for groups and schools Monday through Friday. Check for hours and info. I self guided toured and looked through the windows. Wanted brochures, so minus 1 star but there are pinic tables. San Ramon Rd from Danville becomes Foothill in Pleasonton.
Nice trail up to the top of the ridge. Much more like double-wide trail versus fire road and well shaded. Also much steeper than Golden Eagle and lower Sunol parking lot in several sections. I had to dis-mount my bike on several sections and walk it. Best to climb up Golden Eagle trail and come down Alviso.
Great historic park, good walks and museum
Beautiful park which details the history of the area. Includes historic 200 year old adobe house and a replica of an old dairy barn that stood on the site. Lots of identified native plants can be seen from the pathways circling the park. Great views of the valley from the park.
The Castleridge trail head is now open. The trail from Old Foothill to the ridge is 1.98 miles. The initial trail is open and a straight forward climb, but it quickly becomes shaded and quite nice. I had to turn around early today, but I am looking forward to getting to the ridge and taking the trails that head north.
Sadly, wasnt there to see the museum, but its a great place for photography shoots!
Beautiful small park. Great preserve, not too big. No bathrooms (locked) except when the visitor center is open Wednesday to Sunday. Great picnic spot. Great show of history for Pleasantons oldest house.
Its a perfect spot to take pictures
Beautiful area! Very fun place!
Played pokemon go here. nice views
As a small local - very local - piece of history this is a nice stop. For those who live in the area, here is a small gem of your past. The adobe was continuously used deep into the 20th century. For the school children the set up is great. come learn history and be a part of a dairy. The other reviews note camps for the children in the summer. Looks like the place is set up. The grounds, the museum, and the rest rooms are clean and very well maintained.
This place is awesome for the city of pleasanton. Great idea and we visit often.
History well preserved!
Awesome kids programs, including daytime educational and evening parents night out.
Great informative small park.
Great little informational park within the city limits......was supposed to be a little pit stop....but we spent over an hour.....will go back in summer when its warmer!
Beautiful views, nice activities and fresh air!! #KidFriendly #Families #Accessibility #LocalGuide #LetsGuide
