This is an awesome little nature park! It has a paved trail and unpaved hiking trails. We came one day with a stroller and did the paved trail, came the next day and did the unpaved trails. All were super cool, but the hiking trail along the river was by far the best. There is a small fee to enter, but its worth it. They close early, though, so be sure to look up their hours before going.

Excellent trail for a quiet walk with nature. Well mowed unpaved trail. Two trails available from same trailhead. No restrooms or benches to rest. One trail is loop trail with a good view of the Alafia River. Second much shorter trail is up an back also to the river. Trail could be wet during rainy season. Recommended for people who want to be close to nature.

My dogs (and mine too) favorite park to visit. Good for quick trips or longer stays. I always see the same owl right before sunset. I just wish other park visitors shared a little more respect to nature and took their trash with them

This is a gorgeous area. There are several unpaved trails along with the main paved trail, and if youre newish to hiking like I am, its easy to walk more than one trail in a single trip without getting too tired. The ranger up front is also very friendly, and the park is decently populated most times without feeling overcrowded, so I feel very safe. The boardwalk is especially nice for birding. On our trips, weve seen skinks, great blue herons, woodpeckers, white ibis, and some other really interesting fauna (and flora). Nice and safe for kids and dogs, too, although I have neither!

Our first time here, we will be back for sure! True Florida! We took the short trail to the Alafia River, beautiful and Tranquil! I sat on a rock with my book and the sound of a small waterfall behind me while Floyd fished.Looking through the pictures, I noticed a lot from Alderman Ford, please know there is a difference between Alderman Ford Nature Preserve and Alderman Ford Park - they are 2 different locations with separate addresses.

I like this place! Has paved paths and wood bridges. 2 mile trail. It has work out stations through out, found that to be really cool. Bring your bug spray with you! There are pavilions, a place for hammocks, bathrooms at the main entrance and through out the trails. Also drinking fountains through out for you and your dogs. Cost 2 dollars to get in the front gate- there’s a pay station so bring cash. If it rains a lot- it will most likely be flooded trails and you won’t get very far, also bridges will be really slippery. A good amount of parking spots, it’s a nice outdoor adventure you can take!

A lot of reviews here are wrong. People mistakenly wrote Alderman Ford County Park reviews here at Aldermans Ford Nature Preserve. Those 2 are not the same.Parking lot has a map of the trail system but it is incomplete. Trail shown takes you on fire road in a loop. There is a trail #2 which is by far more scenic but physically requires you to blaze your own trail and gets progressively more impassable and eventually turns into a jungle. If you take main parking lot and head due south, you will eventually hit the river. If you follow river path, it goes up and down the bank and you have to hop over few ravines along the way. If you can make it through the jungle and do a few detours, you eventually find yourself at the barbwire fence. You have to straddle barbwire and do a superman thing when you find wide enough clearing. From there you very quickly hit oxbow lake (former river channel) and need to travel north to main trail. For those far less adventurous you can take river trail as far as it takes you, turn back to trail head and do the proper loop.Fire trail is a loop that eventually converges into TECO property with a no tresspassing sign. There is no shade on fire trail and scenery is actually pretty mediocre, which is why I advise you to do the water loop instead.I have street viewed my hike with my 360 camera and eventually it will be uploaded to google maps.

Fantastic place for hikers. Both trails lead to the river. Expect standing water in the rainy season. But not terrible, easy to bypass. Be sure to be back at vehicle by 5pm. They do lock the gate. Yes it is down the dead end road, just past the high school.

Aldermans is a great place to spend quality time with friends and family. There is a very nice paved trail. The play area is well kept and has been each time I have visited with my family. They have a canoe launch I have yet to use but it has easy access. If you are looking for a fun outdoor destination to spend a couple of hours at, this is a great option.

The *Preserve* here on Turkey Creek Road has a lovely trail to river, but no facilities. If you want facilities and a paved trail, go to the AF parks off 39. Theres a lovely family nature park (turn left or East off 39) and a canoe launch (right or West off 39).

One of the most outstandingly beautiful hiking trails in Florida. Tree shaded paths bordering a clear tea colored rushing stream that flows around bends and over rocks- were more used to this type of terrain in N. Georgia or the North Carolina mountains. Park and walk through the meadow area until you reach the woodland trail, then follow along the river path. Highly recommend!

Easy, quick hike. I wouldnt plan to spend a whole day here. Very beautiful especially along the river. Trail system is not very extensive, but doesnt need to be in my opinion. It would be really great if this park had a connecting trail to the main Aldermans Ford park (across the river) somehow. Ive been on all the trails here and have also kayaked the stretch of river it encompasses. Really quiet (unless youre here during the weekend). If youre looking to get out somewhere for a couple of hours this is a great spot! If youre looking to get out for the entire day, Id recommend also going to the main Aldermans Ford park, located across the river. There are more trails there, both paved and unpaved. If youre trying to paddle this beautiful river, I would recommend Alafia River Canoe Rentals.

Just did my first hike here today and loved it!!! I unfortunately didnt have time to do the loop trail so I just did the one way trail instead but was not disappointed! Ill be back to complete the loop trail in the near future! The one way trail follows the river fairly closely so be prepared for bugs and muddy parts but other that that beautiful scenery and plenty of photo opportunities!
