Big lake park seems to be the epicenter of anyone wishing for a leisurely walk or a brisk run or bike ride. Large concrete sidewalks offer plenty of room. Plenty of benches and other hard scapes to take in a sunrise or sunset.

We often come here as a family to fish and play. It is walking distance from our home and has great trail access to the surrounding neighborhoods that connect to the Blue Bonnet trail or the Chisholm trail. We’ve cause bluegil, green sunfish, and large mouth bass from the lake. There are also plenty of grass carp swimming around. There are always ducks, turtles and sometimes other wildlife to watch. They have recently posted that paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes are welcome in the main pond.

I walk through this park on my daily walk and enjoy the scenery. Its pretty, well-maintained, and theres often lots of critters in the area such as turtles, ducks, rabbits, and squirrels. Little playground and a place to give your pup water. Only thing Id change is the creaky wooden bridge that sounds like its about to give out.

We love going to this park every evening we can go.We go here at-least 3 times a week. This park has very nice play area for kids and very nice trails for biking, running or simply walking. It’s full of ducks so kiddos are super excited about this park and they love feeding the ducks. Our kids call this park as”Duck Park”. Lol! Love this park.

This is a pretty great park for people of all ages.Lots of great shady space under trees at picnic tables immediately adjacent to the playground equipment. Parents can monitor children from the shade with full visibility of the playground. The playground equipment for the kids is fun and interesting, especially the rockin school bus.Enjoy walks on nice wide pathways around the pond. There are lots of ducks, which our boys loved. If you need some refreshments, just down the road at Parker and Alma is Sugar Mountain, a great little snow cone shop.We even got the opportunity to help a turtle that had turned upside down after falling over the little dam just passed the bridge over the pond. Poor little guy just needed a little nudge over. This was our first time at the park and I think the playground had just been mulched, which left a lot of dust on all of the playground equipment so the boys were 10x dirtier than they would be otherwise but nothing a little bath cant fix.I can safely recommend this park for anyone looking for a little fun and relaxation out under the big blue Texas sky. Enjoy!

Great place if its not very hot outside, with a nearby park and some benches and a small encircling trail, the small lake is enjoyable for everyone of all ages. Its has a very peacefull backdrop. They have ducks and white swans in water which increases its beauty. You can also fish or feed the fish. Or feed ducks if you like it.The water has algae in it so not advisable to swim, also looks green.

Great place to hang out. Biking, running, jogging, and skating are all very easy on the very wide paved pathways that stretch for miles. Light fishing if you are into that. Landscape is always on point and kept up. The neighborhoods surrounding the park are all very safe. There are several small parks along the trails for the kids, and a few rest areas (bathrooms) as well. Shade or sun, you have either option.

Great space for family with everything from a playground to cycling to finding and more. This is a dog friendly park with water fountains that serve dogs fresh water (just dont forget your leashes & poop bags). The drinking fountain near the playground has the water bowl, a regular drinking fountain, and even a refreshing mister Im the hotter months!

Beautiful and well maintained. Lots of wildlife and greenery. Theres a childrens playground and a couple of benches. Oh yeah... Theres a decent sized pond as well. Bring a rod and reel and of course your fishing license (17+). Keep in mind that many bodies of water in Plano are catch and release only. See Citys website for more info.

I love any and all places that do not require worthless money or earth destroying automobiles. Duck, duck, are there any geese here??? Pretty cool little park with swings for the big kids like me...I never grew up...I just got taller. You can sit on a park bench and watch the day move along slowly or spend the day painting your own masterpiece. Thank you to Plano for this park. Remember everyone if you use the park...clean up after yourself...and pass that message to the children.

If I knew how bad the area was I wouldnt have came to visit. I gave it 1 star because the lake itself is nice to walk around. When I arrived the first thing I could hear was loud cursing, I took my kids to the playground and there was six teenagers between ages 15-16yrs old chilling at top of the playground like they own the place.. my kids couldnt even play on it. I had to climb up the playground and ask them to stop yelling curse words and to stop talking about sex around my small kids. So I left to walk around the nice lake, coming back to the playground I was glad they were gone but 4 minutes later another gang of 7 guys show up to sit in the playground area to smoke!? This park is not family friendly.

Review №79

I find this to be a really well planned park. It has a big slow-ish waterway with ducks and turtles, long walking paths with bridges, a good play area for big kids, a good play area for little kids, shaded picnic tables, bike rack, benches, full around sidewalk visibility for adults who dont want to wade through the bark. Now, why four stars? Apart from the picnic tables set back from the play area on one small section of the grounds, there is very poor shade for this play area. Benches for parents have no shade. The playground only has shade if kids go underneath the climbing areas and play in the bark. Also, while it has one of Planos fantastic park water fountains, complete with misting capability, that water fountain is really far away from the unshaded playground. Far enough and obscured enough by hilly ground and a few small trees that trying to keep an eye on one kid going for a drink makes it nearly impossible to also keep an eye on anybody else still on the playground.
