Love hiking here I live nearby has almost exactly a 1 mile loop. If you go here please be respectful and dont leave trash. People work very hard maintaining this loop covering waterways with new bridges all the time. Thankyou to everyone who works on this park.

Great place to walk your dog and find a little escape in the city.

Usually here for StepTrek in October. Always a pretty park and well maintained.

It was a great place before the new wealthy home owners in the area decided to open it up...build trails and destroy its natural beauty. Now its like any other place in the area...overwhelmed and filthy. Such a shame...it was beautiful the way it was.

Beautiful hidden gem! Lovely trails with little streams and an overlook of the Southside. The overlook area is frequented by late night partiers so it can sometimes have trash or old tents. The trails also have plenty of poison ivy so beware or wear pants. But it is one of my favorite hidden treasures of the Southside.

JUST FANTASTICQUICK SERVICE

Visited the area adjacent to the Bandi Saum Garden. The trail around the garden is ridiculously bad to walk down - horrible deep mud up to your ankles. The leech bed they created several years ago does not work well in practice. It does look like they have surveyed and are planning changes that will address it. Fingers crossed because it is a great place to walk in the middle of the city!

It used to be much nicer when it was a little League field. Yuppies screwed it up.

I enjoyed the scenery. Not a bad place for a picnic or to spend time with your children or your sweetheart.

Southside park actually meets with my property. I love walking my dogs or by myself. Its so peace. Every year the city brings in goats to eat the hill side saving money on labor. After they are done there is a celebration. Its really great for the whole family.

It was hard to find. No clear visible entrance as u are driving. Parking was limited cars parked anywhere there was open woods after the lot filled. Also there wasnt a suitable sidewalk or space for walking to or from the park. The field had a seating area directly across from each other but the wooded side did not have adequate seating is was as if the few that could fit were sitting in the woods uncomfortably

Visited for goat fest, the park was nice enough but nothing incredibly special

They have a recreational center in in the summertime for children under 16 you can get a free pass!!

You would never guess this was tucked away into crowded South Side! Lots of trees and trails, its a good place to take a quiet hike and escape for a bit

This park is AWESOME! Very quite every time I go. Features a nice walking path through the woods and such a nice escape right in the heart of south side. Good place to go with a friend and be able to have privacy to have some good conversation, OR go and have recreation on the bike path, or field... Cool Playground for kids, and clean water at the fountain for drinking. Only thing could have some restroom facility of some sort, I havent seen one in my many trips there, either go before / hold it/ or chance a Port-o-let being around.

Great city park to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Volunteers have done a great job of naming and maintaining trails (there is a map available at trailheads). Be prepared to hike up steep grades (like in most city greenways) but at the top of the park is a great view of the South Side and the Monongahela River.

The trails seem well maintained but some jackasses broke bottles all over the place. Im talking all over every single trail so dont bother taking your dog like we did. Now our dog has a nice gash in her paw. I hope you jackasses fall face first into your glass shards.

I take my dog through here every day, its never busy or anything. Last summer they had a bunch of goats as part of a project to curb growth on a hillside, I hope they bring them back this year.
