Go here just for the view. Accessibility is best by car or else you have to walk up the hill for about 15 minutes from the nearest bus stop starting with an old staircase which will make you think twice even before you start the ascend. Overall the place is average as the surroundings are residential. Would suggest Mount Washington instead of this for a view as well as other things to do. Do visit once if you like some adventure.

Amazing views of the steel City skyline. Probably the best in Pittsburgh. Very nice play to talk to people or listen to music or read a book. This is the best overlook Ive ever been to. (And some movies were filmed here)

Breathtaking view of The City of Pittsburgh! Mount Washington has a spectacular view, but this takes the cake. The positioning of this park allows you to see almost all of downtown and beyond!

Wow! Just..... WOW!!!! I didnt even know this place was here. Came upon it completely by accident! Its 3 a.m., my fiance and I were heading home from visiting an old friend and got so turned around.... We pulled into a parking spot to look up directions and..... it looked like something out of a movie! So out of place yet somehow felt like it was perfectly and exactly where it was always supposed to be. I know, it sounds crazy.... But, it was almost magical!!! I grabbed my fiances arm and shook it until he looked up annoyed and started to get irritated by with my assault on his forearm... He looked to see what held my gaze, and.....Whoa he says..... There was an archway and a tunnel of over hanging vines, lit up with white light.... We got out of the car and followed the strangely hypnotic light up small winding incline and came out atop the highest lookout in the Steel City!!! Over looking the beautiful shining city on three rivers, we could see for MILES! At that time of night, its an almost perfect silence. The nights sky was clear, the stars seemed dull as the backdrop to the impressive skyline. The city of Champions seemed to almost be aware of its own beauty, but thats insane.... Right? The grounds surrounding over the overlook are impeccably kept and the view is cinematic and overwhelming! My man and I fell in love all over again as we stood on that mountain and looked on over the majestic scenery with all the hopeless abandon of highschoolers that had found a secret cabin in the woods! Thank you Pittsburgh, for leading us to your little hidden wonderland, thank you for showing yourself to us! I cant wait to come back again!!

Looking for the best view of the City of Pittsburgh? The West End Overlook by far is unmatched by any other location. Grand view Ave. seems more well known. But if you want a quiet romantic place to take your girl/ or man. Look no further. You will capture the absolute best view of our three rivers.

This park has great views of the city and also includes a short walking path and grassy area to hang out or picnic. There is also a pavilion that can be rented out for group events. I wouldnt come here to play sports or do anything needing a large space, but it is a nice place to picnic or catch a great view of the city.

I live here, and it never gets old! Best place in town for fireworks, especially this past Fourth of July, since the big fireworks were cancelled, everyone one had their own backyard fireworks show, we had a perfect view of the Northside which was lit up for several hours with home fireworks!

The best place to view the skyline and rivers in Pittsburgh. This is a small but really relaxing park situated on the hill above the West End, with a spectacular view of Pittsburgh. We got up early one morning and watched the sun rise over Pittsburgh, and it was so worth it! Plenty of room to enjoy a picnic, hang out with friends or just to take in the view. A must visit when you come to Pittsburgh!

Grew up flying kites off the end of this overlook. That was before there were any railings or buildings. Its still a great place for seasonal pictures.

There was a small parking lot and Porta potties. A few people were having picnics and taking pictures. Beautiful views of the city. There was a building with an observation deck but unfortunately it was closed, I suppose because of the coronavirus

Everyone gravitates to Grandview Ave for that iconic shot of Pittsburgh. Do yourself a favor and go here. A bit farther away but a better straight on view of the golden triangle

Well if you wish to get an overview of the entire city of Pittsburgh from atop the Ohio River, this is the place. A bit overrated cause a much better overview of the city is obtained from Mt Washington (Emerald State Park). Walk right for 200 metres after coming out of the Duquesne Incline station at the top of Mt Washington. The only difference is in the overview of the city. But if you wish to generally stroll around in the park, you may like to come here. From a photography perspective, Duquesne Incline is great.

We’ve been to Mount Washington but I preferred this view with its complete view of all three rivers and bridges in one photo. I liked the quiet and peacefulness that was here, there’s a place to see it from even higher and I can only imagine the view is even better from up there. A neat place to bring for a good view.

I recently attended a party at the pavilion. Very nice place to have a gathering. Air conditioning. Clean bathrooms and lots of refrigerators. There is a nice deck on top of the building that gives you a little better look at the city. Only issue was you get locked/kicked out of the building at 9pm.

West end overlook in one of the best places to take photos, and is very private surprisingly. So you can take photos in private, go with someone that you care about, and have a good time.I think it will be great for picnics too, theres a lot to do there.

In my opinion, this place has the most beautiful view of Pittsburgh. You can see every neighborhood in town on a clear day and its quite breathtaking how far you can see from that angle!

One of the nicest placest to visit if youre in town. There is nothing over the top about the park itself, but the view is worth all of it. Definitely a great place during the week to just relax as it isnt nearly as crowded as the weekends. Almost no one there during the day. Check it out!!

This was very exciting to visit. The view was amazing. A lot of people seem to visit this spot. It is a great place to take your kids or your love one and just hang out and enjoy the view. Many people were out there taking pictures. On a nice day you can get some really nice photos of the water and the buildings.. I recommend this spot if you are in the area for a nice fun day of picture taking and relaxing!!

The view is beautiful, especially at night, however it lacks adequate parking, so get ready to walk a while, after trying to find a parking spot.There is nowhere to get food beverages within walking distance.

A friend took me on a sightseeing adventure that in itself was amazing. The Overlook had a few people visiting and taking pictures. I was actually awestruck as I come from a state that is flat ergo Florida. Wow and double Wow.. Magnificent view of beautiful Pittsburghs best. Took pics and was totally impressed..

Its a nice overlook of the city. You can stay there for a short time to take pictures or just sit on the benches in the park and relax. Its a quite neighborhood and parking is limited.

The Park was slightly hard to find as an out of town visiter but was absolutely worth the trip. Not only was it quiet and near empty during sunset, but it offered a stunning view of the city.The Incline was extremely packed, and we had just about the same view here and had it all to ourselves.

Beautiful views, needs more benches

I have been here several times to watch the July 4th fireworks. It used to be not as croweded and the view would be great. But this year it was so crowded I could barely see the fireworks, I had to stand on a railing. Also, the park stopped maintaining the trees on the hillside, and a lot of the trees were blocking peoples view of the fireworks. They should trim them before they go out of hand. There is a building facility here with bathrooms and a rooftop, you can rent that out for events. Parking here is non-existent, only a few spots. But if you come during the day its very quite and the daytime view of the city is still nice.
