Heinz Memorial Chapel

The venue speaks for itself! I graduated from Pitt, so it was so special to have our wedding here! Most of our guests were from out of town and had never been to Pittsburgh and they were blown away by how beautiful the chapel was! I planned the entire wedding myself from California, where I now live. The staff made it so easy and were so well-organized. They stick to a strict time schedule and were very professional. Corinne was our coordinator and she was awesome to work with! She listed to all of our ideas and helped make sure everything ran smoothly during the rehearsal and on the day of the wedding. The organ music was incredible too! I really cannot say enough great things and couldnt be happier! What an awesome memory to be married in such a beautiful place!

Our wedding ceremony at Heinz Chapel was truly stunning. The space is one-of-a-kind and spectacular, and from the moment we toured it, we knew we had to get married there! The planning process with Wendy was so easy, and Sharon, our ceremony coordinator, was so organized and enthusiastic. She made sure to deal with every single difference in our ceremony with grace and elegance – from uneven numbers of bridesmaids and groomsmen, to my brother (a groomsmen) escorting bridesmaids to where they would stand and running to the back of the church to walk me down the aisle, to an a cappella group singing in the middle of the ceremony. We are so pleased with our experience with their team. Our wedding was also on a Friday, so we did not feel rushed out of the space at all. The best part of the whole day was that the garden right next to the chapel, which has been under construction since last year when we booked the space, opened specially on our wedding day. This was our last stop before heading to the airport to go back home, so glad we decided to stop here. We were greeted by a docent when we entered and given a brochure that talked about the stained glass, it was very quiet and peaceful. The wood carvings are beautifully done. Well worth the visit and a quiet place for reflection.

I love the chapel it gives me a peace of mind plus I clean the chapel too.

Beautiful chapel for a wedding. Like most places in Oakland, you find parking where you can and then walk. Which is fine for us. We just happened to be staying at a hotel a short distance from the chapel. The chapel has wonderful architecture. I think you can wonder around if there are no events going on.

Very beautiful. Definitely glad we made the stop. The stained glasses is absolutely stunning if you go while the sun is out! The employee working there was very kind to turn on the organ and let me hear it!

I went here for a public poetry reading for class. The church is a beautiful, picturesque, and well maintained historical landmark. This is a very popular wedding destination due to its stunning architecture and stained glass windows.

I officiated a wedding here last year, and it was breathtakingly beautiful. The staff have everything down to a science from the rehearsal to the ceremony. They do several weddings each day, so there is a chance it can feel a bit rushed since they have to reset everything for the next rehearsal/wedding, but overall it was a beautiful experience in the heart of Oakland on Pitts campus in a historic cathedral-style chapel.

A very pleasant and helpful docent was available for any questions we had. We havent been there in about 40 years! It was a delight to see.

The Heinz Cathedral Memorial Chapel is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. I have been to Paris and all over Europe and have seen the Cathedrals there and it is remarkable to see that style recreated so well. Do yourself a favor and check out this wonderful landmark.

Im not a huge fan of wedding ceremonies. Because this venue hosts so many, their ceremonies are quick, which is perfect to me.

The non-denominational chapel is gorgeous. We were recently married here and the docents are so wonderful and helpful especially Sharon and Corinne. The stained glass is beautiful and just wait till you hear the organ!

On a trip to Pittsburgh we stumbled across this site while out on a walk. What a beautiful building, and magnificent sanctuary! We were so impressed with the stained glass in particular. How nice too that the sanctuary was open and we could go inside.

One of my favorite places on any continent. While small scale, its an approachable but full-featured and beautiful representation of cathedrals seen in Europe and elsewhere. Some of the best acoustics and most extraordinary and memorable musical events of my life was hearing a Christmas choral concert here. Visit if you get the chance. And for more old architectural beauty, and a striking counterpoint, visit St Pauls just a short walk away.

The Chapel is very lively, nice colorful glasses mosaics make the experience surreal, A cultural landmark, good spot for a nice get away for couple or hours.

Went for a wedding. Beautiful church inside and out. The upgraded audio and air conditioning are welcome add-ons to the stories I had heard about weddings there in prior years. We were quite comfortable throughout and had no issues during the ceremony.

Absolutely gorgeous architecture. The docent was very pleasant and helpful. Great place for photographers novice to professional to hone their skills or develop a new one.

If you want a cool experience, ask the docent to hear the organ. They have a special program that will play the organ even if there isnt an organist. Definitely something you must do if you visit the chapel.

Quite a small chapel on University of Pittsburghs main campus. Still its really quite peaceful inside. There are a number of rows of seating along with a huge organ inside. The architecture in this place is really something though ... not something you see very often these days anymore
