Great Zoo! Went around 12-3pm was still a little warm out. Was glad to see all the animals! Really wish I went when it was cooler. Must wear mask and surprisingly wasn’t as packed as I thought it was going to be. Price is very affordable for what you get to see. Will be back again hopefully for Zoo lights.

Came to see the Zoo Lights and loved it! I definitely recommend checking out the show they have there in the little amphitheatre, I was told they bring out different animals everyday. But make sure to get there before the show starts because they are not filling up the seats to full capacity due to Covid. I believe there are 3 different showings and the last one starts at 9 pm.

Was a beautiful wonderful day. Not too crowded, animals were awake until 12. Staff was friendly. A lot of exhibit consumed but that was due to the virus. Extra (paid) activities are about 12 for members per group. Food is reasonably priced BUT you can bring your own.Highly recommend.Personal not: I hate the ride on animal scooters. But hey, what can you do. People hate exercise.

Finally got an opt to come back to the zoo with my son since our first visit with him after he was born. He was wonderful to see his eyes light up over all the animals. I wish there had been more animals out and about it seemed as tho a lot of them were either hiding or closed exhibits. I bought a membership so I hope this isnt a long term thing. Note, while this pandemic is going on, bring a face mask for the lil ones. My son is 2 and he wont wear a mask and it hasnt been enforced for his age anywhere however the zoo requires that you have one for them on hand. Headed back today with all the kids (4), mom, mother in law, and niece.

I loved the place overall. Well cared and maintained for. Lots to move around and explore. A few resting areas were also open. The only trouble is I wish it had a few more snack shops distributed over various trails than just be accumulated at a single spot towards the main section. Other than that, it was a very incredible place to relax with friends and family. It has also beautiful locations to party in for small events. The zoo has definitely been a place for me to visit at the very least once a year. Winter in July and the lights festival are two of the most awesome experiences in the zoo. Definitely recommend a visit. The gift shop also carries a lot of useful stuff in it. Just remember that sometimes, if you exit the gift shop, you may need to re-enter using zoo entrance and not the same way back from the shop. Lots of food and drink options are available for purchase in the central location inside the Zoo (just not much options for vegans and looks like it will probably be improved over time).

The last time I was here was about 7 years ago, I took my future wife to Zoo Lights for our first date. We came back this year & took our kids & it has improved a lot since the last time we came. This time around there were actual animals outside that we could view, just about 5 of them but still an improvement. The pathway all around the zoo seemed longer & had more things to view. Needless to say, my wife & kids absolutely loved it. We are now planning a trip to come back during normal business hours ilduring the day so we can enjoy what the zoo has to offer to its full extent.

Enjoyed our time at the zoo, the piped in acoustic music was very enjoyable. Now for the bad part, liked how they announced every 15 minutes that everyone has to wear a mask and to be socially distant, but saying it and not enforcing it was in my observation not done. Many people were walking around without a mask on and not distancing themselves and employees driving or walking around not enforcing it. The Phoenix Zoo can do much better better.

The Phoenix Zoo is a great place to escape thr city and emmerse yourself in Arizonas beautiful desert landscape. Historically I joked that the PHX Zoo was the only zoo Ive ever seen without any animals, but that is certainly not the case today, almost every exhibit has animals. I take my young daughter there every week and we never get through the entire zoo. It is quite large and is a great way to spend a morning in nature. We went through the car tour. It was GREAT! We purchased the tickets on line $65 per vehicle. It took us approximately 1 hr and 20 min. to compete the tour. At the entrance we were given a website to for a guided tour. It included the type of animal, their names, where they came from etc. and the tour guide added some fun facts and animal humor. We arrived at 9:30 am and surprisingly, got to see most of the animals on the tour in 112 degree weather from the comfort of our vehicle. All white enjoying our breakfast Burritos that we bought ahead of time. Youre able to purchase food/snack/drink items at the time of your online purchase or at the entrance, or bring your own. While there have been some attempts to make the zoo safe during a pandemic, the mask requirement only goes as far as the entrance. I took my son (2 1/2) and we both wore masks. It made me uncomfortable to the point that I had to go home how many people were taking their masks off as soon as they entered the zoo. There is no enforcement past the admission gate. There is clearly a divide between the people trying to be responsible and those who have no desire to wear a mask.

It wasnt super crowded and they are set up pretty well for distancing and avoiding groups of people in one place. Staff was super helpful guiding people where to go. We have a season pass from Feb we havent used since that visit so it was nice to go.Looks like they are doing some upgrades soon to the African animals exhibits.I would say to be cautious right now if you are susceptible or super concerned about COVID... the rules are to wear a mask when you cant be distant, which is a majority of the time. there are plenty of low traffic areas to take a mask break. But its a diverse crowd and plenty of people are pretty loose with how they mask up. Around exhibits with small crowds of people, there was always at least 1 person or family who refused to wear a mask.

Phoenix Zoo Lights is an annual event at the zoo that we attended each year we lived in Phoenix. It can be a bit cold, so bundle up. It is a giant light show at night and you cant see many of the animals, but you can see a few. Also, the food vendors and gift shops are open and it makes a great time with the family just cruising through the zoo and seeing the spectacular light features. There are great opportunities for photos for sure. And, youre helping to financially support the zoo.

Beautiful zoo, many exhibits and of a good variety. I took off a star because it felt like we were constantly being nickle and dimed. Pretty much everything worth doing costs extra. We opted to upgrade our tickets to get the tour and the movie extra, which for our first time was definitely a good value- if only for the tour. We had never been there before so getting a tour of all the exhibits allowed us to get a brief summary of what we could see at the zoo, which is big enough to be a two day adventure to newbies. We were only there for one day, so we only got to seeing about half the zoo. The 4d movie, however, was only about 20 minutes and felt like a waste of time. The effects were kind of cool, but the show was too short to have any sort of meaningful story line. Perhaps children would find it more enjoyable. Speaking of children, the zoo seemed very focused on providing an educational experience for kids. It also had several playgrounds and an endangered animals carousal (which I personally found a bit morbid- humans riding on the back of animals we have pushed to the brink of extinction) but the kids seemed to enjoy it. They dont pass out maps anymore, so be sure to get a photo of a map on your phone when you see one. In addition, all of the employees were very happy and helpful. All in all, a beautiful, if bit expensive zoo.
