Nice trails, but there are homeless encampments. Beware of bicyclists. They go very fast.

Its great place to visit. Wasnt aware of this place till on a field trip. Has spectrum of hands-on experiences for every age including fun-filled family programming, weekend activities & festivals, STEM-supporting school field trips and on-the-ground conservation work focused on local species at risk. There is little something for everyone!

Great trails for biking, hiking or for simply observing nature. Saw a burrowing owl and a road runner last visit. The park has easy, moderate and hard trails for people of all fitness levels. Be sure to pack plenty of snacks and water, the trails goes on forever. Great way to spend a day.

The building is nice. There are lots of trails. There are also lots of trash, probably left by homeless people and teens. I wouldnt want to go alone. The pic is the best area there and it is right by the building.

We were very excited to visit and learn more about birds for my daughters homeschooling. I am a landscape architect and was also looking forward to learning more about our local birds and what they may be doing this time of the year, as well as answer my daughters question about which birds are migrating through Arizona right now. The three people we talk to could not answer our questions, which were met with annoyance (my almost 6yr old didn’t understand why they were “not being nice”).The two children were excited to see the gift area, puppets, and the many books and exhibits. By no means were they loud, but the place was hosting a lunch meeting on the other side of a wall, in which people were standing around talking and eating. Even IF the children were being loud, the place had Legos and was clearly set up for children, what do they expect! As we were checking out and the cashier was answering a bird question, a lady came over and very rudely interrupted; without saying excuse me or anything, she went right to saying we were too loud and needed to keep our conversations low because of the event being hosted. I of course looked at her in disbelief and said we were not being loud, and anyway, we were on our way out.We were also asked HOW we found the place, why we were there (not in a friendly way), as if we weren’t supposed to be there. We didn’t even make it to the outdoor area before feeling overwhelmed by the unwelcoming looks we received. Part of me wonders why we were treated so poorly, and feel sad for the kids who were very excited to be there after a 50 min drive.

Walked our pitbull and had a pleasant picnic in a very peaceful setting without worry of other dogs or people that our playful puppy might scare.

Its A really primitive place to stop and rest. There are no bathroom doors on the womens stalls and only one toilet works. There is a pond that has some wildlife. The ducks are pretty awesome though and people tend to leave you alone.

Beautiful green spaces and fun place to look for insects and other animal life, however dont go alone. There were homeless people living in the vegetation. I never see park Rangers anywhere, except when its time for them to close the gates entering the parking lot.

We had our wedding here this spring! This place was so lovely!!We had a beautiful spring wedding, everything was perfect! Our guests had a wonderful time and loved the unique setting and super unique Mexican food buffet. It was cozy but had plenty of room for 80 guests. It was very private, there is only one wedding at a time so we had the place to ourselves! Not to mention the GREAT price for the wedding and reception! We booked and worked through Ensemble Catering, the lovely Madison has been a DREAM to work with! She was always quick to respond to emails and was there for us every step of the way through the planning process, from handling payments to choosing linen colors :). For a fabulous and cool headed day-of coordinator on a hectic day like wedding day, she’s your girl! We love the Audubon Center and Ensemble Catering!

An award-winning building in a riparian environment just a few short miles from bustling downtown Phoenix! 3rd Thursday happy hours with low cost craft beer, wine and nibbles at sunset on the patio next to the riparian reeds and water feels like anywhere but AZ! Add in a free lecture about birds and the environment by experts with funny and entertaining delivery makes this a sought-after place to be!

We went here for a field trip and the staff was so knowledgeable and great with students of all ability levels and those with challenges. Hands on, active, and relaxing. It was a great experience. They also have a really nice little gift shop that they dont advertise with some toys and lots of books and such.

A very nice place to visit and for taking a walk. Im not sure of their hours(thus the 4 star rating). I do not intend for that to be a negative, its just an observation. Theres plenty of places to park, and trails for a walk or hike. It would be a great place for a lunch break to sit outside and take a walk. Just a lovely outdoor experience in the middle of town.

Seriously, five stars? For this trash-strewn homeless paradise at the end of various nearby industrial drain pipes with hardly a trace of water in it? Come on, be honest... And dont forget the nice hazardous waste plume left behind by Motorola and Intel in the 50s. There is nothing here to see, so dont waste any time here.
