Probably one of the best recreational areas in the greater valley, in my opinion. The scenery here is beautiful and you can see almost every part of the valley from these mountain tops. Theres so much to see and do out here, from mountain biking to hiking, just to general exploring. Be sure to keep the area clean and pick up after yourself, we all want this area to be enjoyed for years to come and generations to come as well.

Great place for a hike but leave before the sun goes down there is a chance a creepy old man will stare at you for an awkward amount of time, I suppose hoping for a date. I am not making this up it happened to me after my run, and I was changing my shoes and putting my sweaty shirt and pack in the trunk. I am a 46-year-old guy, and even though I wasnt scared, it was odd and creepy. Are the dating websites that hard for the elderly to understand? The longtime reputation of Dreamy Draw Park is still well deserved. I guess the name has a real meaning. I wonder who named it.

This is an excellent place to hike and it offers several trails to go around. Today I chose Trail 100. It is definitely a more moderate level Trail, if youre just starting out hiking you may want to wait a few weeks and Hike some easier level trails before you hike this Trail. There is a decent amount of parking, but it does tend to get full in the mornings. There isnt much shade on the trails, so dont be Reckless when trying to hike here.

Dreamy Draw is a favorite place for me and my 4legged buddy to hike. It is right in the middle of Phoenix Mountain Preserve. Easy access off 51 and Northern and from here you can head west or east on Trail 100. If you want to be more adventurous, you can take your pick of trails that branch off, and easily find your way back. Beautiful, lots of cacti. Youd never know youre in the middle of a huge metropolitan city.

Lots of fun at Dreamy Draw! The rec area is a bit smaller, however the trails are fun and scenic. Trails range from novice to expert, allowing fun for the entire family! We went on Trail 100, as that is my favorite. About a 45min hike around the mountain, with plenty to see and do. If you havent visited Dreamy Draw yet, put it on the list!

Really nice place for hiking and biking. Trials vary in sizes and difficulty. Maps is hard to understand though. And the poles along the trail are old and not updated. Still a really nice place. Youll rarely come across a trail where you bump into a lot of people on the way. Very spacious. Ive seen people of all ages come here. Very dog friendly as well.

This area offers a wonderful experience for walking and hiking. There are many trails, some easy, some moderate, some more strenuous that are well maintained and have wonderful views. It was a great pleasure for us to spend hours walking and hiking in Dreamy Draw. If youre looking for trees, forget about it. These hiking trails are GREAT from late Sep to early May. NOT recommended during the summer months as there is NO SHADE. The trails vary in difficulty. Some offer GREAT views. So many trails to choose from. Great for bicyclists too.

My family and I really liked hiking here. Even my 4 year old daughter loved hiking here. It was so fun climbing up those mountains with my family. Stay on the trails though. I noticed some people had veered off and partied a little.. It was a great place with plenty of outdoors environments to enjoy. Definitely felt like freedom out there. I even saw a coyote in the distance which was really awesome. I always saw rabbits, quail, lizards, and adorable ground squirrels, so it was very fun being close to nature.

I dropped by on a rainy day. Things cleared up for a sec so I was able to stop by for a quick hike. It was definitely worth the view! ️️️️️️Dreamy Draw Park sits off Northern Avenue and State Route 51. It’s a desert landscape with sprawling hills, steep mountains and secluded valleys.  Did you know Dreamy Draw was a name residents coined in the early 20th century to describe the area where miners spent long and arduous day? “It was said that the miners in this area would leave and be in a dreamy state so they were coming back from the Dreamy Draw, said John Southard, a Phoenix-area historian. That’s because of what the miners were looking for. Southard said miners here began digging for copper in 1916. But instead, discovered a significant amount of cinnabar. That’s a mineral that’s processed down to extract mercury — which was a commodity at a time when a world war was raging. “In fact, mercury is a neurotoxin and working with mercury can have some very interesting effects on people. If you were to be in a mine shaft or working with materials, processing it, things like that, it is entirely likely that it could have an impact on your health and state of mind, Southard said.Despite its value at the time, this area produced fewer than a hundred 76-pound flasks of mercury. Mining operations shut down in the 1940s. By the late 1980s, the government decided to build a highway. When the area was surveyed for construction, mining equipment was found and removed.

Beautiful gem of a park, right in the middle of the metro area. I hiked the Perl Charles Memorial Loop today; this has a mix of flat straight-aways and steep climbs over narrow passes, plus several trails that criss-cross the PC. Its at least 4.8 miles per the park maps, but 5.9 according to another, so this trails path may have been altered at some point. Its a great hike if you want something more intense than a nature loop.
