Million Dollar Quartet is a fabulous show! Don’t miss it. The talent is what you would find on Broadway. The only down side is that the show is in the smaller theatre and the seats are very close together. I am a tall slender person and I felt very boxed in, with little leg room. But go to the show anyway, you’ll love it!!
We saw You Cant Say That last night. Just Wonderful!! Its a comedy that courageously transcends the labels, left and right, to find a common humanity. Quality writing and acting, good staging (a well-used sparse set) --the entire experience left us feeling more connected, more human than any art event (dance, theater, exhibition) weve attended in ages. My hope is you have a chance to see this work. And kudos to the Phoenix Theater facility and staff, we always enjoy the lobby/restaurant and its customer service. The venues seating provides good visibility and acoustics, with a feeling of intimacy.
Id much rather see a show in the main theater then at the Hormel Theater. Tonight I was in the main stage theater and it was an enjoyable show. We saw an Americano. A very nice place to see a play and I would recommend it. Staff, volunteers, and services saw to it we had everything we needed. The ushers were very pleasant & helpful, too.
Very nice, intimate space. Not a bad seat in the house. Really nice lobby with indoor outdoor space. Good bar and courtyard.Show was good, too. Very fine local talent. Refreshing, non-factory show.
My wife and I absolutely love The Phoenix Theatre! We have purchased packages and enjoyed every show. Our friends that we have invited enjoy themselves very much! Our last show we saw was The Truth about Santa. We could not stop laughing.I highly recommend The Phoenix Theater to everyone!Merry Christmas!
We hadnt been to the theater in awhile. So the bistro was new to us & had lunch before the matinee performance of Sound of Music. The seats were comfy, theater was full & the performance was just magical. It was the perfect way to start the holiday season. Theater, musical, family & friends some of my favorite things.
Attended a production of The Sound of Music tonight. The production was lovely. I can see why this company has been around for 100 seasons. The theater is intimate. Our seats were great. I will definitely return for future productions.
First time here, we went to see The Sound of Music and i was BLOWN AWAY by the talent and entire performance. Im from the East Coast where ive seen theatre all my life in Boston/NYC and this was on par with anything Ive seen in those great cities. Truly well done, entire audience gave a standing ovation and it was well deserved. Bravo to the entire cast of that performance last night. I will definitely be back to see more!
Well, I liked it. They had great singers both times I went. PLUS, you can have a fine craft beer and drink it during the show in your seat--and for intermission they have another waiting for you!
Venue is wonderful.vWherevSteven Spielberg started directing plays. Easy to find. Ample free parking in lot. Have a great dinner at the restaurant attached to the Phoenix Fine Arts Museum. Saw. the million Dollar Quartet at the Theater. It was fabulous. The 2020 Theatre schedule looks great.Go to the Phoenix Art Museum or thev Heard Museum during the day, have dinner at the restaurant attached to the museum andvtgen go to the Theater in the evening for a fabulous day.
Phoenix Theater is on top of their game. One of the best places to go see theater. Always top notch shows and the staff and volunteers are beyond amazing. Support local theater folks. Its always a fun night out with friends, family, date night, etc.
Wonderful combination of talented actors from, both professional and community, sharing their skills and love of theater with Phoenix Arizona. Everything we have seen here has been fantastic! Absolute Perfection!
We were lucky enough to see an excellent performance of The Sound of Music. Highly recommend. Not only is this a warm and welcoming theater the sets were done especially well and the talent had and took the opportunities to bring us memorable performances.
Nice little little theater. Food and drink service before show and at intermission. Price of show was very high for show. . Sure some are lower but for ours for quality of show/venues would have expected 3/4 to 1/2 what we paid for value; which was too bad as that will prevent future visits.. . . Staff was a little loud coming and going during performance. Parking was convenient and free
AMAZING! I am going to buy Season Tickets! I loved everything! Beautiful theatre, friendly staff, easy parking and an amazing show. We saw The Sound of Music last night and it was so enjoyable! Thank You!
Consistently an outstanding experience from start to finish. We saw The Sound of Music, and the show is incredible (particularly the music and the set). Service is top notch as always. It is a privilege to have this company right here in Phoenix.
My wife and I had a date nite here last Friday. This was our first time here. There is not a bad seat in the house. All of the ushers were excellent. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing. We enjoyed the play Kinky Boots Our sides hurt from all of the laughing.
Million Dollar Quartet was an outstanding show! The theater was comfortable, and acoustically very good. Every seat has a great view.
The show started out sort of slow. Fifteen minutes into it the whole audience was asked to leave for their own safety. The light board blew and the felt it was a necessary precaution to have the audience leave. I’m not sure it was necessary. a half hour later we were allowed to return. The show ended up being very powerful. It was well directed and acted.
Loved Million Dollar Quartet. Second time weve seen. Wonderful production. Amazing talent. Venue very special.
Love love love this theater company. Top notch in every way. The shows are fantastic! And Adriana in guest services is a gem.
Absolutely love going to shows here. Not a bad seat in the house. Never had a bad experience there.
Our experience was awesome. We had dinner at the Bistro. The staff was terrific and the food delicious. We saw The Sound of Music and it was tremendous. The actors and staff put together an awesome show.
Ive been to quite a number of shows here including Newsies, Million Dollar Quartet, and Sisters In Law and I have never once walked away disappointed. My parents are season ticket holders and we frequently meet them for dinner at the on-site restaurant before their curtain. The food is excellent and the staff is always wonderful, especially with my daughter. Well worth the price of admission :)
Kinky Boots was one of the best shows I have ever seen! It made me laugh and cry and Darius Harper gave a performance I’ll never forget. The sound was fantastic, actors, vocals all top notch. The Angels, my god you made me believe you were real drag queens. Absolutely fantastic show! You must go see it!
Only have been to 2 shows, Kinky Boots and The Sound of Music. I felt like I was back in NY watching a Broadway show! Acting, scenery, live orchestra. Best place to see excellent shows.
We only saw one show, so far, Kinky Boots. The theater has no mad seats. The production and actors were Broadway worthy. We cannot wait for our next date here.
I come from the east coast. Seen alot of Broadway shows and theater shows. Absolutely love this community theater, its actually quite possibly the best one weve ever been too. We have seen multiple shows here too. love it.
Drinks are a little pricey, but the building is super nice and staff were very friendly. Seats in the theater are small and if youre a bigger person, youll be pretty crammed in, but the show was worth it! We saw Kinky Boots and the cast was AMAZING!
Fantastic theater with intimate seating, there are no had seats in the house!
Great smaller theater. All seats had a good view of the stage. Loved the performance. Nice that they have a restaurant onsite.
Very beautiful venue. Great production! It was a little crowded(seating) but overall an excellent venue
Phoenix is lucky to have an excellent venue and committed professional artists that share their love and passion of live theater with our community. Pick a show, you will not be disappointed!
The performance space is fantastic, the building is so cool, the staff for our show were incredibly helpful and friendly. We saw Americano, and it was one of the best musicals Ive ever seen!
I live for live theatre and this company puts on the best shows. We just saw opening night of Once and it was absolutely beautiful. The cast put so much heart into their performance it will have me singing Falling Slowly for days. Ill listen to the album for a few too. Ive seen many shows here and loved every single one.
Small intimate theatre that always provides great productions. Not a bad seat in the house.
We love The Phoenix Theater. Its always a great time. This is their centennial anniversary year too!
We saw Million Dollar Quartet. Amazing talent! Loved it. It was a little loud though.
As always the host an hostess were polite an friendly. The musical was entertaining heartfelt an I walled away knowing a lil more about lives..
Terrific live theatre. My wife and I have have had season tickets since 2004. In all years the plays have been magical, the sets believable, and the actors are superb.
As ole performer myself I think they do some of the best productions Ive seen in Arizona to date. The only negative is that it isnt bigger! Fantastic. Bravo!
Great production of Million Dollar Quartet! Very talented cast, we enjoyed it thoroughly.
The Phoenix Theatre Company never leaves me disappointed. Their shows are always wonderful productions. There is no bad seat in the theatre.Parking is easy and free.
My wife and I began seeing shows there about two years ago and have never been disappointed. Their bistro has a limited food selection but is always exceptional. We absolutely love this theater. The only bad thing that I can say is that if you dont attend regularly they begin to hit you with spam calls to attempt to promote upcoming shows. Otherwise, this is an amazing venue for a nice evening out.
Our family has always enjoyed to make memories at the theatre. We have seen some incredible shows here such as Mary Poppins, The Toxic Avenger, and Les Miserables to name a few. My daughters love the summer camp and have loved the opportunity to follow in their great grandmothers footsteps.
First time visit to see the performance of Americano. It was a fabulous performance, the cast was really good, the props were exceptional. I hope this show makes it to Broadway!
Started going to the theater a few years ago and we just love PT. If youre looking for an easy night out I recommend purchasing voucher bundles and then just have your concierge convert them to tickets for the shows for which you have interest. This is season 100 and the lineup is tremendous. We do this with friends, monthly, and often share it with clientele as well. There are three theaters so often times two things are playing at the same time. Each theater seating is different in size and layout but we havent had any issues.Food and drink is really nice while you wait, great couches and a friendly atmosphere all make it a special night out and a reason to get a little dressed up (even though there is no dress code).
We had a great first experience. Got to the theater about an hour early and went to the adjacent restaurant which was really tasty and reasonably priced. The play was amazing. We sat in the second row on the side and it wasnt too close or awkward. We plan on doing it again soon.
Nice musical and stage play venue, making use of a historical icon in Phoenix. Parking may seem limited but they had attendents out to help guide. The room was intimate but not claustrophobic, and the production wonderful. Will be back, Im sure!
At the Sound if Music performance which is amazing. Great cast and sets (no pictures allowed)
Awesome performances every time. Nice light dinner at Art Bistro before the play was yummy!
Beautiful theater! Great bar and concessions! The performances are phenomenal! Support the Arts!
I saw The Sound of Music. Flawlessly performed, very talented cast, lived it all.Nice theater, cozy and immersive.
Amazing performance. Great venue. Go see Million dollar quartet.
As a rule I enjoy the productions at the Phoenix but the current production of Cooking a Drag is just not entertainment. Its a collection, and thats being kind, of assorted songs that a 10 year old cold have written accompanied by a combo that way over powered the singers. The second have was a bit better with the appearance of the Queen and some funny lines plus a very quick spot with the Star answering questions posed by the audience.
Parking is not adequate to accommodate the theatre. Huge hassle! Old chairs but comfortable. Nice play we saw though!
Best Theater Venue E V E R!! Love how interactive the Performers are and the Live Orchestra is a total treat!! SO much talent here!!!
Amazing experience. Great service and incredible performances!
Fantastic acting! Assume facility, friendly, helpful staff, and good food/beverage service
Always a Fantastic Time. Free play reading. Loved it!
We went to see a show in the small Hardes Theater and I was very pleased to see that it has been remodeled to have more comfortable seating. Great! I always enjoy the shows I see here!
Seating is cramped. Nice venue with close-by parking. Lots of handicap parking.
The Phoenix Theatre is an excellent venue. Ive seen Hedwig and the Angry Inch (amazing performance!!) and more recently Spamilton (kind of had to be a theatre insider to enjoy), but the theatre itself is really nicely set up, great views and acoustics, wonderful snack and drink selectiona. Will be returning to see other shows.
Americano was AMAZING!! The theater nice & intimate. All seats are great seats!!
Just saw Kinky Boots which is marvelous! The cast soars in a story that resonates with everyone. The theater itself is lovely, as is the connected restaurant. Youre in for a treat.
We have been to three shows so far and all have been high quality with beautiful sets and superb talent on stage. Great venue with good views from every seat in the house
Took my father here to see The Sound of Music. Excellent show, great staff, superb experience. Highly recommended
This theater is one of the best venues in Arizona. I have been to almost every place house in Arizona and this one is my favorite. Dont miss the million dollar quartet when it rolls in next season!
Small and intimate venue, perfect for special shows and concerts. And consider eating right there... at The Bistro, tasty food from appetizers to full meals and delicious craft cocktails.
My 2nd time seeing Kinky Boots at Phoenix Theatre - saw with husband and then back again with gal friend. I saw KB in NYC with original cast including Billie Porter. The Phoenix Theatre production and cast rivaled the Tony Award winning original Broadway production which was outstanding. I love the KB energetic and meaningful music/lyrics. Highly recommend any production at Phoenix Theatre, ie its Les Miserables also rivaled the original Broadway cast.
We saw Kinky Boots and had amazing seats. The sound and lighting was great and the performance was absolutely wonderful!
We enjoyed the pre-show lobby experience, drinks at the bar, and the excellent musical production of The Sound of Music. My only complaint is that the theatre seats seats were small, uncomfortable, and too closely jammed together.
Great atmosphere and people, We saw Million dollar Quartet It was Amazing!
Beautiful facility. The play... Not so much.
Fantastic! Great play Kinky Boots. Cast is exceptional, not a bad seat in house, staff is top notch. A must go to theatre!
Am a Chicagoan who attends theater regularly. I was VERY impressed by this theater. The staff couldnt have been nicer....very welcoming to my friend and I since it was our first time there. Will DEFINITELY return. Cozy, intimate, great band and good stage sets.
First-timer. The Box Window staff was very friendly and helpful. I didnt know students get in for $15 within 30mins before a show starts! The ushers were also very helpful and courteous. A lady seated on our row happened to lose her shoe (oh Cinderella)! The guy with her asked assistance from the ushers to look for it. A couple of minutes later, another usher came with the missing shoe & saved the evening. The whole cast of Spamilton was unbelievably awesome! Kudos to everyone behind the curtains for the amazingly quick costume and wig changes! The music is spot on. The lighting never missing a cue. Very, very impressive. Will definitely go back.
We love this place. Amazing sound!
Saw Jersey Boys last night. Im not even a huge fan of musicals, but this was great! The cast was energetic, the music was performed really well, and the stage set was creative and beautiful. It was like a concert within a play. The venue is super nice and comfortable too.
Just lively, and lovely first time event and The Sound of Music did not disappoint!
The Phoenix Theater is a great place to see plays. However, cookings a drag had a nonsensical plot line, just okay songs, and wasnt a really good play. Looking forward two other places. The part of Betty / Bobby was done very well. I think he could use his talents in a much better one woman show.
Last nights performance was outstanding. The actresses who portrayed Ruth and Sandra were wonderful. If you havent seen Sisters in Law, get tickets now, youll be sorry if you miss it.
For my husband’s birthday, I surprised him with two tickets to Spamilton. To say that we were disappointed is a gross understatement. We were confused and bewildered, staring at each other in a disbelieving stupor at the utter nonsense being laid before us. Although the actors voices were amazing and the choreography was great, the content was frankly the most bizarre thing I have ever seen, a befuddling mix of references to not only the original Hamilton actors themselves (Lin-Manuel, Leslie Odom, etc.), but also containing the most obscure facts about each of the Hamilton actors, which nobody in their sane mind would ever know. I mean, I consider my husband and I to be RABID Hamilton fans (I was lucky enough to see Hamilton in Gammage) and even we had no clue what was going on. And if that wasn’t strange enough, they also chewed up and regurgitated every single Broadway reference that ever was, including, but not limited to: Annie, The Book of Mormon, Liza Minnelli, Bernadette Peters, Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, Into the Woods, The Music Man, Rent, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Kinky Boots, Cats, The Lion King, Steven Sondheim. And that list is being conservative. It was so confusing, that I wouldn’t even call it remotely entertaining. I honestly had no clue what was going on 90 percent of the time. My husband and I considered walking out, but since we were on narrow risers with seats placed on them (we weren’t even in a real theater!), we couldn’t move without disturbing other guests. At $78 dollars a seat, and with a well-established company celebrating its 100 year anniversary, I expected a lot more. I just wish I could get my money, and the hour of my life spent listening to that nonsense, back. Sorry, honey- worst birthday gift ever.
Beautiful intimate venue. Lovely bar for drinks. Great staff.
Nice venue to see a show (Million Dollar Quartet tonight,)
Saw Fun House at the Phoenix Theater, and what a great performance! The theater itself is good but a little shallow in depth for something like a musical, but the cast definitely pulled it off. Its a great space they have here though and Im extremely happy I could see a show on my visit to Phoenix and support this theater.
Nice sized theatre. Knee room! Excellent performance - great cast!
THE MILION DOLLAR QUARTET! A fabulous show
Nice theater, all seats are good for viewing, need more bathroom space but overall nice
I love every production Ive been to at this theater.
Loved this venue! A smaller theater so anywhere you sit is a great spot. Seamlessly sat the audience and with a bar with dining and concession stand there is something for everyone. Ladies, there are many stalls in the restroom so the wait goes fast at intermission. We saw Jersy Boys and loved loved it!
